gazsimm Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I don't know the details in Warnock's contract or whether or not its standard practice, but with Gareth Barry for example if he had put in a transfer request he would have lost a 'loyalty bonus'. But Gareth Barry actually came out and said he wanted to join Liverpool, that is not the case with Warnock he has not come out and actually said he wants to leave Rovers, so untill he does i will take it he is happy at Rovers.
Ronin Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 thats why have i stoped watching that channel, they are to eager to try and make headlines that simply are not true, just like this one. I think Nicko fell for it as well Exactly, that and the wall-to-wall coverage of the Sky 4 (or 5 if you include the Spuds). I always take 'news' from SSN with a pinch of salt as it's virtually all speculation. Sky Sports 'understands' or Sky Sports 'sources', meaning they've just read the paper or off Tribal website, just too lazy to do some actual reporting and find out themselves.
colbert Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3975028,00.html I do like the way SSN have reported this one, they are the only ones reported that Warnock had put in a transfer and yet they talk about "other reports".
Ewood and I Would Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_3975028,00.html I do like the way SSN have reported this one, they are the only ones reported that Warnock had put in a transfer and yet they talk about "other reports". BBC did the same thing with their AWOL story last year.....
The Prof. Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Seriously so you believe everything you read? Who care about Moko anyway most people want to see him leave and he has been barking long before Ince was here (remember when he talked about his dream to play for Rangers etc). I haven't heard about Zurab wanting to leave. I thought someone suggested Ince wanted to sell him (different thing all together) but since he came out with his 100% no more sales comment I can't see that happening. I have yet to see ANY evidence that RSC wants to leave, in fact he's been one of the only players to come out and get behind the manager (remember the RSC going nowhere stories last week when his brother signed?). Just because a player is being linked away doesn't mean that he personally WANTS away, it just means we've got a very good player that other admire. Samba, tribalfootball by any chance. Some people really need to wait to see what ACTUALLY happens rather than rely on all these so called rumours about mass unrest. Obviously something's not right but some people are making mountains out of mole hills I feel. What's the point in quoting you sources if you don't believe anything you read?
laughatthedingles Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Nice to see someone only seems to be reporting positive news on us: Setanta on Warnock Dunn talks to Setanta Plus, the new kit looks great!
The Prof. Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Facts? Or what you've read in roundabout terms? I've certainly not seen anything that suggests your first two claims, not even as rumours. Hope you can prove the former though. Prove the former - Axe put a transfer in last year. Do a google on City, Hughes and Rocky.
Ewood and I Would Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 What's the point in quoting you sources if you don't believe anything you read? I didn't say I didn't believe anything I read, I said I didn't believe everything I read. Prove the former - Axe put a transfer in last year. Do a google on City, Hughes and Rocky. A year ago, so why did you think that was a relevant slur on Ince's management? IF City want to buy RSC (which at the moment seems stupid given the financial situation) how is that the same as him wanting out?
Hughesy Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Annan didnt make the grade Annan bid not likely

A year ago, so why did you think that was a relevant slur on Ince's management? IF City want to buy RSC (which at the moment seems stupid given the financial situation) how is that the same as him wanting out? Well that's a start. Tell me who you do believe and I'll start there. Whooaaa...... who said I was slurring Ince's management. (Have you a ref?) Never mentioned Ince did I? If you read back you'll find my jury on him is waiting until we've played a few games.
Ewood and I Would Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Ince - has to move soon to quell the quitters (us included). At the moment the gallows are half built and he's building them himself. Has he ever got over the impression we are nothing but a 'tuppeny club'? By my reckoning 6 of the first team squad seem to want out or have left. Something is wrong. That certainly seems like a slur on Ince and it heavily implies you are linking the 6 players wanting to leave because of him. If that's not what you intended then you may want to consider how you phrase things...
modes98 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 If you want a chat about it can you do it over PM. Thanks.
b12_simon Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Can you not take your little tiff to PM or something. I'm sick of reading it. Edit: modes beat me to it there
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Annan didnt make the grade Annan bid not likely I'm surprised this is the case because he has been on the radar for some time, didn't Hughes want to sign him but faced permit issues?. And there was the positive stuff in the media from both JW and Ince on how well he had done on his recent trial.
almuncle Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I'm surprised this is the case because he has been on the radar for some time, didn't Hughes want to sign him but faced permit issues?. But how on earth can Ince say that Robbie Fowler has made the grade though, IF, he signs him on.
ben_the_beast Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Not really of Rovers relevance but watching Brazil v China in the olympics and i'm hugely impressed by a few of the Brazilians yet to make the move to europe. Especially centre back Thiago Silva. He's got it all. Plays for Fluminense i think. He should be next on Ince's south american wish list. Well i can dream can't I.

They do have a very pretty presenter though. If she tells me we've signed my gran I'm likely to believe her.
gazsimm Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 But how on earth can Ince say that Robbie Fowler has made the grade though, IF, he signs him on. how many times do we have to till you Jal, By signing Fowler will not just help the squad overall, but he will also pass on very good experience to the younger forwards at the club, so what is the harm with that????????????????
EwoodGlory Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 TalkSport just mentioned there will be a Major Announcement at Chelsea at 5pm, sounds like some peoples summers could be exciting. *jealous*
laughatthedingles Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 TalkSport just mentioned there will be a Major Announcement at Chelsea at 5pm, sounds like some peoples summers could be exciting. *jealous* Kaka? Robinho? Either way hardly a Keith Andrews eh!
sparkspakespoke Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 But how on earth can Ince say that Robbie Fowler has made the grade though, IF, he signs him on. Free transfer, pay as you play deal as opposed to an outlay of millions plus further millions in wages. Thats why the criteria is different.

Dont talk rubbish, you're making me so very angry with comments like that, Fowler has nothing absolutely nothing to offer in the premier league. When do you kids go back to school with you dangerous opinions ?

When do you kids go back to school with you dangerous opinions ? As mentioned above, depends on the deal. If it's heavily performance-related then it is low-risk, potentially high reward. If he flops on the pitch but his best contribution is behind the scenes, the club profit. You can't compare one player's deal (or lack of) with another.
