You inferred that despite both of them coming on trial, we had some moral obligation to offer them a contract at the end of it. I've still seen no evidence to suggest a loand was offered or that he went of in a huff but I don't know so I'm willing to let that one lie.

Still interested to know what your opinion is of MK Dons taking him off the transfer list (which is obviously only going to annoy MK Dons fans if they still intended to sell him) and why is was made captain yesterday in a game that will cup tie him and take away a big chunck of the fee the Dons could get.

complete nonsence, Fowler is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and his experience will be past onto the younger pro's and will help them in the future, ask Matty Derbyshire.

Don't forget we will be able to have 7 subs on the bench next season, so i don't see the harm of Fowler being one of them and bring him on if we need a goal late on in a game.

If that's based on Bish's Fowler post Hughesy I'd suggest it's you talking tosh.

He's exactly right about Fowler. If the young strikers at the club need tips they've got two Champs league winners with more international caps than Fowler could dream of already there. Plus they can both still lead by example on the pitch where it really matters - it's very doubtful that Fowler can.

i believe you did not back the fact annan was coming on trial, even though i and others had confirmed it after reading norwegian papers/watching him SAY it on national tv. you did not seem very well informed at the time, but i dont doubt your info now.

My little contribution:

TIAGO from Juventus - he has been unsettled last season there, didn't play many games and a possible transfer has been on the news for quite a while now. It will probably happen since his manager doesn't like him much (in the last 2 pre season matches, he used Tiago for 2 minutes in each game).

He won't come to Portugal because he is in a very big salary for our standards unless FC Porto sell Lucho Gonzalez.

Interested clubs: Fenerbahce, Atletico Madrid, Monaco, Everton, Newcastle, possibly Inter Milan

Racing Santander approached Valencia to get on loan Mata, Banega and Hugo Viana. If they manage to get them, I doubt they will try to buy Annan, if they get those players.

Sunderland have joined Hull and Stoke in the race to get Makukula from SL Benfica. He can probably go for 5 million €.

My personal favourites for Rovers midfield would be Maniche and Tiago. And maybe Seitaridis for right back.

I think that Nicko has been hinting that the rumours about Warnock wanting away have been coming from someone very close to Warnock for last couple of weeks .There are many reasons a person currently employed but seeking a move will not come out publicly say so.I think that in his statement he was very careful with what he said and also with what he did not say if you know what I mean.

What worries me is that for some reason he thinks Newcastle can offer something better,

I think your going too far. I really dont think that there are any positives about Fowler signing as stated he is old and slow and if we want someone to bring on the youngster then it shuld be someone with a better attitude than Fowler. Dont get me wrong I dont care that he is coming in its a very small calculated risk and he might get a couple of goals in the cups or something, I dont thnk there is anything to be happy about though no matter how hard you try and drum it into people.
