i believe you did not back the fact annan was coming on trial, even though i and others had confirmed it after reading norwegian papers/watching him SAY it on national tv. you did not seem very well informed at the time, but i dont doubt your info now.

I had heard that Rovers were not sure about him and other clubs had looked and thought he was too small. The info shocked me, but I was happy to chase it and found out you were correct.

This time last week the chairman was praising him to the heavens...a couple of days later he was being offered a loan. Now other clubs are offering decent money.

It has twisted and turned as moves often do.

You will also see that the player says he would be glad to play for Rovers/Arsenal/Man U. He changes his mind as much as he changes his socks.

I am quite happy to accept that the manager saw him and overlooked him. That's his call.

I still don't think it's right to mess people about.

What goes around comes around.

complete nonsence, Fowler is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and his experience will be past onto the younger pro's and will help them in the future, ask Matty Derbyshire.

Don't forget we will be able to have 7 subs on the bench next season, so i don't see the harm of Fowler being one of them and bring him on if we need a goal late on in a game.

Your out of your depth young man, go and play out.

It's not a mates thing - Hughes mates were his backroom staff and they were cracking. It's the not deserving it.

No you're absolutely right. If Kaka was Paul Ince's best mate, that would be cracking. Unfortunately he's not, but an underserving ageing forward is.

Hughes had earned the right to be allowed a couple of dodgy ones. In addition, he didn't sign them becuase they were his mates - there was a genuine football decision behind both.

Unlike Fowler/Ince.

hang on what makes you say "Hughes earned a couple of dodgy signings". Does Ince not derserve this as well then???. and why did Matty Derbyshire come out and say in public last week that having Fowler around the club, will be better for him, he must of made some of an impression don't you think.

how many times do we have to till you Jal, By signing Fowler will not just help the squad overall, but he will also pass on very good experience to the younger forwards at the club, so what is the harm with that????????????????

1) We're making ourselves a bit of a laughing stock with our Premiership clubs, we're getting enough bad publicity without this as well.

2) Every minute he plays is a minute taken away from Derbyshire's development, or a minute that could have been used with a better player (i.e. any of our current strikers).

3) He's hardly been a model professional throughout his career so I'm not sure why we think he can help younger players. He's had his mind on horses and property for years now, and he's had his fair share of controversial incidents.

Regardless, I don't think we should sign players asking the question 'what harm can it do'...hardly ambitious is it? 'What can they offer us?' would be the more appropriate question.

"Hughes earned a couple of dodgy signings". Does Ince not derserve this as well then?

Obviously 'earned' isn't in your vocabulary, if it was then you'd realise it can't apply to Ince.

Hughes EARNED the right why does Ince deserve to get it free?

My little contribution:

TIAGO from Juventus - he has been unsettled last season there, didn't play many games and a possible transfer has been on the news for quite a while now. It will probably happen since his manager doesn't like him much (in the last 2 pre season matches, he used Tiago for 2 minutes in each game).

He won't come to Portugal because he is in a very big salary for our standards unless FC Porto sell Lucho Gonzalez.

Interested clubs: Fenerbahce, Atletico Madrid, Monaco, Everton, Newcastle, possibly Inter Milan

Racing Santander approached Valencia to get on loan Mata, Banega and Hugo Viana. If they manage to get them, I doubt they will try to buy Annan, if they get those players.

Sunderland have joined Hull and Stoke in the race to get Makukula from SL Benfica. He can probably go for 5 million €.

My personal favourites for Rovers midfield would be Maniche and Tiago. And maybe Seitaridis for right back.

A few Italian papers say Newcastle have agreed a deal with Juventus to take Tiago on loan for 12 months with an option of a 10 million euro at the end of it, it's up to Tiago now but I'm not sure if he will fancy joining.

Sorry no one earns the right to make dodgy signings. It’s not like JW said look you got Bellerz and Benni now here’s some cash to have fun with on Berner and Jeffers…..

I think it’s also worth noting that until they’ve proved to be flops, Ince hasn’t made any dodgy signings….

I dont see the problem with offering fowler a contract, fair enough i would prefer a more glamouros signing but fowler will cost nothing but wages and his experience alone could prove invaluable.Im happy that ince is being cautious in the transfer market,in the past rovers have given managers vast amounts of money and it has been wasted dailly, davies, grabbi, blake, ward the list is endless.Ince and JW are being careful with the little money we have, the time for judging ince is not now.

I also agree on Fowler...although it is slightly annoying when you're the only BRFC fan in the office and when the story broke all your colleagues send you links with "LOL" attached.

I think most people are more annoyed at the image it projects rather than his actual usefulness.

That happened to me too, and your final statement is spot on....mindst you, I did watch him in the Breda game on Saturday and whoa mum!
