Antgrad Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Remember when Jack got fed up of United being linked with Alan Shearer and so made a bid for Eric Cantona? Surely it's time to do the same with City. A bid for Richards, Petrov or A N Other would lift the mood around Rovers and have every chance of being accepted if Frank Sinatra got wind of it! I seriously think we should do that. We have the money. Get a bid in for Johnson

gbax Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Probably the same person who leaked a lot of the Mascherano stuff a few months ago and always gets credibility with shots of him on his mobile and references to him being a wheeler-dealer and big player. I don't even want to mention his name. Moonchester - the Manchester City's mascot??? ;-) I think that Thaskin will be hiding out in that costume now!
hawkiiz Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 That might have had a mention here yesterday... really? and i thought i was reading this carefully thanks anyway.
novella Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Nice to see that statement from the club - They should of come out and said it isnt even half of our valuation - that would of been better ha! Id like to see us attack and unsettle other clubs. Maybe we could make a bid for Arteta/ Lescott from Everton as they are skint. Maybe also a bid for Martins at Newcastle, followed by a double bid for Petrov and Elano. Come on Rovers unsettle them, play them at thier own game - only difference being - We actually have the cash!!! ha ha make a 3 million pound bid for richards. leak that one to sky sports nicko
BiggusLaddus Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I seriously think we should do that. We have the money. Get a bid in for Johnson Or make a very public bid for Corluka - to Tottenham!
b12_simon Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 So when I left to go on holiday 2 weeks ago, the hot news was as follows: - Warnock about to join Newcastle - Fowler signing imminent - Andrews to be unvieled any day now - Roque off to City I return to find that: - Warnock about to join Newcastle - Fowler signing imminent - Andrews to be unvieled any day now - Roque off to City and a further 1000 pages of neurotic drivel have been posted, about what I ask myself? Thank you EIT - a lone sensible post awash in a sea of suicidal teen drivel. City don't have money. I hate the media. It is called silly-season. Spot on! We've had "[player] to [spurs|Citeh|other club]" rumours for years and us supporters normally take it in our stride. This year reactions have been laughable. I'm not tempted to do my wrists or whatever but I'm starting to think the Bridgend lot were all Rovers fans.
robborover Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I start to worry about the BBC. City boss Mark Hughes signed Santa Cruz from Bayern Munich year ago for around £3.5m, and it is thought he offered nearer £12m to try and lure him to Eastlands. If that's true then where has the money come from? LOL. 500k a year over 24 years?
JohnS Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I'd be very suprised if Newcastle were thinking about selling Milner. But if someone is stupid enough to offer £9m, then it's maybe too good to refuse. Being a Newcastle fan, and listening to Milner speak on interviews with the official website over the past couple of days, I reckon the story is complete tosh to be honest. You have the same problem as Man City, your board and chairman are on a completely different page to their manager and players in my opinion. By the way whats happened to Collocini?
Ricky Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 So Nicko, would you say my £20 wager with a City supporting mate is safe?? I've said that there is no way RSC will be with them by the end of the transfer window. He's convinced RSC is signing for them.... I'm not
ricsipontaz Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Nicko, a young hungarian (u19 international) guy, Andras Gosztonyi is in Blackburn at the moment. But the hungarian papers don't write why he is at the Rovers. Is it a trial or just a chance to training with Rovers a couple of days? Any information about this?
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Villa fans reckon they can get Roque for £15 million... We need to stick with the stance that 'not for sale' means 'not for sale'. We don't need the cash, and to buy a replacement as good as Roque in terms of his goals plus his workrate would be difficult to do, especially in terms of getting a player of his quality to come to the club.
PAFELL Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 make a 3 million pound bid for richards. leak that one to sky sports nicko Maybe it is time for Rovers supporters to get in on this - if a number contacted, say sky, and say Rovers have put in bids for a particular city player and see how it runs. Or go to the training ground - contact JW and tell Rovers to start unsettleing other clubs. Every day something is in the media about clubs in for Rovers players - yes it is nice that our players are wanted by other clubs - but it sounds to me as if the club is under siege - I do not believe that nay of this can be blamed on Paul Ince - but this appears to be media bullying of a manager who has just started a new job. I think that it now does not matter if you approved or not at Ince's appointment as Rovers manager - because it is Blackburn Rovers that is under seige from the media. The time to go and mention something is today at the kit launch - because they will all be there - JW etc.

I've said that there is no way RSC will be with them by the end of the transfer window. He's convinced RSC is signing for them.... I'm not I reckon you're safe. I'm meeting a Citeh fan tonight to have a tenner on "my club will finish above your club". I'm a lot more confident than I was a month ago.

BiggusLaddus Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Has anyone bothered to look on the 606 pages for us and City? Quite amusing reading. The Rovers board is a mixture of annoyance at the media / laughing at City and seeing right through the bid. On the City board they ALL think that it is a genuine transfer bid that now proves that they are flush with cash. There are a few fans from other clubs on there taking the wee wee, but there is not one dissenting voice among the City fans. Seems that if the bid was just a cheap PR trick, it has worked for there own fans at least. Still think we should ask Spurs how much they want for Corluka though
Atomicrover Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Why not, you'd find it easier to raise the £12m It's a "long weight" in my area... Cup of steam, left handed hammer - I got them all in my apprenticeship 37 years ago. What I wasn't prepared for was when I was asked to fetch some "Plus-Gas" in a plastic cup - Yep after 3 strides the bottom had burnt out and it was all over my boots, Happy Days!
Hughesy Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Mark Hughes just went down another notch with our fans for that bid. Come on Rovers lets show them that we actually mean business - splash the cash on a right winger and midfielder or two. More i think about it, the more I like the sound of us signing Pennant on the right.
gazsimm Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 city can have santa if we get Richards, Petrov and johnson in return. Cmon Rovers lets see how they like it, we also ment to have around 20 million or so to spend, so lets start using it.
Ewood and I Would Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 You know what comes just after pride, don't you? The clean up operation of Soho?
Hughesy Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Lets accept the £12m bid for Santa Cruz and Send Julio over instead!
