AndyCV Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Or a man stops selling the Big Issue to step inside an estate agent's and make an offer for a house he can't afford...but goes and tells his mates and Sky Sports News about it. Something like that. Man City fans don't seem to think like that! RSC staying then.

bonger 26 Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 nicko are there any other names you could possibly share with us about who we may be looking at?
den Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 So City put in the bid as a PR exercise just to create the facade that everything is ok with financies at the club. That makes sense actually with the bid only being twelve million They knew that Rovers would never accept it so didn't have to worry about how they were going to pay for him. It would be a bit like bidding a £1 for a new car on E bay, it shows in your listing you are bidding on a fancy new car but you know you are not going to end up with it. I think it was a genuine attempt to sign Rocky. I also think they would have financed it one way - or another. What I didn't like about it, was the fact that various people at the COMMS had discussed the situation with rovers over the past day or two. They were told there was no deal to be had, but still made the bid and went to the media with it - immediately. They were trying to unsettle Rocky directly. Is that how Hughes has decided to do his business now? Poor, poor do Mark, you've really gone down in my estimation. Got no respect for you at all now.
nicko Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 nicko are there any other names you could possibly share with us about who we may be looking at? I think it's about time that decisions were made on current targets and I've not heard any new ones. The 'mystery' one I heard about seems to be very problematic, so it is probably the usual suspects.

RibbleValleyRover Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Nicko have you heard any truth in this? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11706_3981987,00.html "Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock expects non-league star Tom Denton to sign for Blackburn."

Valois Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Well theres our "BIG" signing...*sigh* http://www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/sport/Ea...e-in.4368730.jp If warnock thought he was good after 83 minutes he must be ????????

Does everyone here actually understand (despite many of the tin-hat conspiracy theorists) that nicko has as much influence on deals actually happening as I do sitting at my desk in the states?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 At least it puts to bed all the "JW will have made a condition that Hughesy can't buy any of our players for a set time" stories.

BPF Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 GENIUS 4:50pm - at work...trying to wind the clock down...I apologise. Were you a lttle scared though? Even just for a second?
Parsonblue Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Didn't he play for the ressies a week or so back? Played against Stalybridge Celtic and was very ordinary to say the least. Certainly doesn't look much above 6ft. Was able to flick a few long balls on with his head but not very dangerous on crosses into the box. Difficult to make a judgement on one game but certainly didn't look anywhere near as good as people like De Vita - who we have released - or Jamie Clarke who's on loan at Stanley. If we sign him I wouldn't expect him in the first team anytime soon.
grizfoot Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Didn't he play for the ressies a week or so back? Scored in the reserve game against Stalybridge Cetlic in which Rigters scored two also.

Thats the chap I was on about earlier today. Does anyone know anything about him?

I suppose I'd better do it then.
hawkiiz Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 nicko. have there been more than one bid for annan?? what other club than racing? i wouldnt worry too much about them though. they seem to think norway are packed with quality midfielders - they are after alexandre tettey from rosenborg aswell.

I think there have been a few 'offers' but nobody has bid the money they want. In that case - as it stands - Annan plays tonight. Then we see whether Racing still want him, Arsenal still want him and maybe even Rovers still want him. Start WANT to sell and the players wants to go...so something has to happen soon.
Billy Castell Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Why have we attracted so many Villa scum?
joey_big_nose Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I thought it was funny! If he sorted his spelling a bit and could learn to do a paragraph he might have scared a few people until they looked at the web address!
