OK, the reality is the market value of RSC is about £18ish in the current market.

City raised £19m for Joe who was the poor relation of Vagner Love which is why he is in the EPL and all the other top targets from Russia are not.

Now they can only raise £8m for RSC.

So that smells like City's valuation/rating by the finance boys has more than halved in the last eight weeks. And not surprising when you look at the secret flogging off of players and the bail jumping owner with his convicted wife.

That is the real story.

And yes it can only be a PR stunt by City done at Rovers' expense.

No wonder JW called it disappointing. In private, he probably called it something else!

Here is the news.

ROQUE - Manchester City's bid was £8 million - not £12 million. How have they got this money? That I will have to keep back. But you can probably work it out. However the offer is so low that it is almost insulting. There is no way Rovers would accept that. Why offer it? Make your own minds up.

£8 million? Sounds about the valuation of Michael Johnson who I'm pretty sure rejected a contract extension recentley, you mentioned a big player will be leaving City soon so my guess is that is where the funds are coming from. To whom though? Arsenal perhaps....

£8 million though, get real! I just wish we would put a few insulting offers in for there players, this is about as bad as Newcastle's original £2 million bid for Warnock.

What's next? A £1 million joint bid for Nelson and Samba?

Nicko am I close to the truth with my Michael Johnson suggestion?

If you don't have any more Rovers news tonight then what is the latest with Barry and Villa/Liverpool after he is now cup tied from Europe, I wish there was an end to the whole thing so there is something different in the papers!

Berbatov to Man Utd? It's as good as done isn't it juding by Ramos's comments, what's the price?

Found 10's on Villanueva being the last goalscorer by the way nicko if you're still interested. Paddy Power 10/1 King Carlos

Phil, usually I dismiss your figures and opinions as OTT in a biased kind of way.

However, on this occasion I 100% disagree with you. This time, because, if Jo is £19m (irelevant of whether they are paying it in Nectar points for the next five years) then Santa Cruz is worth more.

I agree that a realistic fee would be £18m without the context, but the fee becomes unrealistic when a bunch of clowns who have shown their spending tendencies are somewhat irratic open the bidding.

To answer Nick's question about Fowler and the team photo. According to tomorrow's Daily Mail he IS in it and the signing is expected. Just the news nobody wanted to see...
Not everyone is against fowler signing. He will cost nothing but wages and im sure a player of his class will be good to have in the squad, his expierenc will be a good thing for the youngsters in our squad, remember this guy was the most lethal finisher in the game.Im not against it

nicko, is it true Tiago looks like signing for Everton? Could it be done in time for Saturday or is it not that advanced? There's mass panic about the new season with no signings made, could be a very tense atmosphere at Goodison on Sat.

Who was it that bid for Joe Ledley?

Cheers.

He was very good in portugal and hasn't put many feet or hands wrong since joining imo.

He's not had much chance to put hands or feet wrong has he? He only got on the pitch twice(?) in all from joining the club to Brad leaving. And even then only as a sub for less than half a game.

According to the ever reliable and in noway bias Manchester Evening News, City will bid again for Santa Cruz.

Presumably they had a whip round tonight

MEN

Do you reckon they will make another bid Nicko?

I hope there is no truth in this.

Kinky, a meeting did indeed take place at the Peter Street Radisson in Central Manchester last night. However it was John Wardle and an associate plus 2 Thai businessmen. It was not Shinawatra nor can it be confirmed or denied that they were his representatives. It took place in suite 201, lasted 2 hours and staff were told to 'not disturb. ' I'm increasingly tired of untold speculation about this club and whilst no one would be more delighted than I to put Shinawatra on the first Tuk-Tuk out of here, we have nothing to confirm that the meeting was related to any developments at the COMS.
