Perhaps it's because you've chosen to post on a Blackburn Rovers fan site, after writing a comment in a national newspaper about a Blackburn Rovers player, that distorted the truth and wrongly painted said player in a bad light.

I can't believe I had to point that out....

Numpty, the truth was not distorted. Read the report and dry your eyes.

Still smarting from the Friedel, Bentley and Robinson stories working out by the looks.

Of course it was a very negative headline. Alan Nixon it just like every other sensationalist journo. Hit the fallen victim whilst he is down and get your article printed in the paper. It's the way he earns a crust.

he's not a poor goalkeeper, he has just had a lot of bad form of late and his confidence needs rebuilding,. He can not be that bad of player if he has played all them games for England. No doubt when he has a fantastic 1st season at Rovers you will be saying Robinson is world class player!!!

Aye, because England is awash with quality goalkeepers!

Spurs let him go for a cut-price fee because he is rubbish.

###### sake people!

Robinson is quality, you don't win 42 caps for England under 3 different managers and be crap, hes not confident but hes got a new start here and he has to build on that. its a new era at Blackburn with Ince and Robinson so don't fight it be part of it or lump it.

Hes got his critics but in the past when weve signed out of form players weve done well and turned them around, I think you lot are forgetting we are Blackburn Rovers not (Please don't use that word again)ing AC Milan.

When your next at Ewood we need to give Robbo a big cheer and chant his name througout the game, it will give him the confidence he needs knowing hes got his own fans believing in him.

ENGLANDS NUMBER ONE ENGLANDS ENGLANDS NUMBER ONE!

 The usual insulting reply. You make me laugh.

I don't remember doubting any of the stories you mention, but I guess in your job paranoia is understandable. And it's quite clear the truth was distorted, whether you want to admit it or not.

Good to see :brfc: supporters standing up for Robbo already, but if you read any of Nicko's article (beyond the headline) then you will see that it is not the biased sensationalism that you are painting it to be. Don't waste time suggesting synonyms that Nicko could've used that would've been less damaging to Robbo's image, this is hardly the worst that Robinson has seen from the press. Besides, fair or not, Robbo will probably continue to get schtick (regardless of form) until he puts on the England shirt again.

Tell you what, go to the game, write a report your way and see if it makes a paper.

With great respect to the honourable member of Her Majesty's representative of the Fourth estate..that is pathetic.

If words such as "disaster" are used to describe stupid incidents in a meaninglesss football match ..what words do you use to describe a mining accident with hundreds killed ,or a sudden lightening strike on a group of children ..or the onset of incurable brain disease..???.

The use of inappropriate language makes a mockery of what was once a noble profession.

"Disastrous" doesn't really make me feel like reading the rest!

Jesus! don't read it then.

I did want to read it, as I wanted to hear what happened as I wasn't at the game.

Don't think there was a match report in any other paper was there?

The rovers site didn't have a report on until much later.

It told me Robinson conceded a goal that was deflected and that he made some good saves in the game.

This place is driving me back on the tabs, and i'm 'trying' to quit

Isn't it normally the subs that would write the headline in a newspaper rather than the journalist that wrote the story?

In fairness to Nicko, I don't think there was a whole lot wrong with the piece he wrote. 'Disastrous' was probably OTT, but then you have to expect that kind of wording if you read tabloid.

I think what's ###### people off is the the word 'GAFFE' being written as the caption. With my limited knowledge of newspapers, I'd assume Nicko wouldn't be the one to write that...although as Nicko seems to be avoiding that altogether I could be wrong.

Anyway, back to Rovers. Annan sounds really promising, it sounds like Ince is following in Hughes' footsteps in terms of getting people in on trial where possible. I have a much better feeling about Annan than I did about Castillo, and I think the fee might be better suited to us as well.

There are many people in the game who consider Robinson to be a poor goalkeeper. Conceding freekicks and long range shots is his forte. He will make great saves because all goalkeepers do but he is one of the poorest 1st choice goalkeepers in the league.

The reason he has played 42 games for England is because of a dearth of quality English goalkeepers.

I imagine he will be ok for us but it's not some "sensational buy" as he isn't a special keeper...

That makes no sense. You are employed to write for the paper and they will print anything you produce (within reason of course).

No, that's not how it works. I spot that there are some players worth watching at an obscure game and persuade my paper to cover it and get a snapper there.

We do the game better than anyone else. In fact, none bother.

You're a fan, go to the game at least. Then form an opinion and find the words to go with it...

Again, trying to turn the argument onto me achieves nothing. I know full well that Robinson being beaten by a deflected shot, does not equate to 'disastrous' or a 'gaffe'. The article I read smacks of nothing more than bandwagon propaganda against our resident goalkeeper.

I have todays Mirror in front of me and it states headline: "Robbo Red faced"

His picture with the words "unlucky" next to him and the words "Paul Robinson had a disastrous start to his new career", which part of that is under question, there is nothing controversial written, now enough of the hysteria, unless anyone else was at last nights game I can see nothing more to discuss.

Nicko- someone earlier asked a question about the training methods used by the new regime and how the players disliked them, is there any truth in this?
