The conspiracy theorist in me is wondering.....

Was the Chowdery PR plug about his 'interest' in Rovers and Brad moving completely, utterly unconnected?

Supposedly, there was some link between them, no?

Would it be feasible for instance to think Brad may possibly have got a better deal possibly if Chowdery took over?

I'm sure it's just an overactive cynical imagination at play.....

Totally unrelated. I tracked Chowdery down and found out about Brad's part in it AFTER the initial tip.

Brad was obviously happy to find a potential buyer, but he would not have been involved initaly as he wanted to keep on playing.

He wanted to keep on playing at Rovers until the Villa affair.

Some things just happen.

On the other point about leaks of transfer kittys to boost season ticket sales...that was down to a Sparky answer to a question I asked him. He gave what I thought was an honest answer.

If you think I'm a Rovers PR man you would be quite a long way off the mark. Although I do understansd that you're probably not saying that. It just makes me smile - and I'm sure one or two at the club would do the same.

Nicko, about the Simpson deal. Are we going to have an option to buy on him you think? Or are we just developing a player for Scum?

I can't see Annan playing as he has been in action today.

he got a knock on his elbow, but is ok to play. nothing serious, but painfull. its the same injury he got earlier.

he will join tomorrow and stay for 4 days.

Right - something that makes sense of all of the trialist 'chatter' I have been picking up.

There is a closed-door game tomorrow.

At least one of these trialists will play, possibly three. I can't see Annan playing as he has been in action today.

There could be even more than I know about.

It's quite a novel way of doing things and it might work out...but it just shocked me to hear of so much activity on the trialist side of things in the past 48 hours.

Hopefully Simpson is in tomorrow too and then it looks a bit healthier.

Is there a link to Annan coming to Rovers - is he at Rovers or on his way - or what? I do not recall any media linking rovers to Annan is the past few days. The only mention I have seen is on this site.

Why do you think the kitty - if there is one - is being held back?

do you know what players are involved in this closed door game tomorrow?

I reckon it'll probably be similar to the eagles deal!

Hes a good player but probably not good enough for

Man utd!

It's happened pretty quick. Fergie only told the lad on Friday, but I heard there was a chance of a full-time deal.

I've been asking people about his form at Ipswich and most people thought he was good.

I recommended him to somebody about a year ago, so I rate him...but I felt he could have done more last season.

there are link to norwegian sites, but i guess they do you no good :)

he and his team played tonight. he is probably having an early bed, and leaving on the first plane to manchester in the morning.

I think it is the time of the year where we all get negative and forget that we are just a small town.

We will never have the money as the likes of Newcastle and Spurs and they are all laughing at us when the transfer window is open.

At least we always get to laugh at them in the end :D

Just don't start laughing too soon though eh ? -_-

Thank you Nicko.

I have found at that almost every United supporter I have spoken to rate him quite highly and believed he was one for the future.

I also find it strange that he isn't capable of getting time on the pitch. RB clearly is a position at United where they have been struggling.

The Sunday Mirror reckon he's going to Villa. I hate loan deals, even with Villenueva, if he performs, he won't join us. Were playing a dangerous game by nurturing talents, but saying that we bloody did the same to Bentley. We are a feeder club simple as.

I'm ok with the tralists, but I do feel that we need that one "name" to excite the fans. We've lost Friedel and Bentley and to regain the faith this summer it will take more than some hope and loans.

Villanueva sort of was that, but they took too long in getting him in so I feel as if all the excitement over that faded. On top of that, the fact that he is totally unproven at this level didn't help. Just need that star to show that the club is really on top of things and going in the right direction.

I agree Eddie, one star name, someone the supporters know of, iv a feeling the club will see that as our right wing replacement.

As for the doomsday people who moan about trials, loans etc - We are doing the senisible thing - assess a player before you commit your money! Why not - we did with Bentley, Samba, Nelsen, aswell as one or two others who didnt end up to it, i.e. Nonda. It makes sense for a club in our position, also that cash earns interest while we have the player in and already have the fee set if he is good enough. Just keeps the cash in our bank for maybe 6 months rather than maybe Uniteds.

The French midfielder coming in on trial is Julien Sable from Lens...he is in tomorrow and playing in this game.

Not exacvtly a world name, but a steady French league player.

Strangely he is available on loan because his team went down - not his fault though.

He played for Chievo Verona on Saturday but is on a flight here right now.

Will try to find out about the trial game tomorrow.

He is a very good player, remember he was featured on Futbol Mundial. Any truth in Simpson coming to us or Villa? As it was the Mirror who reported today that he's going there?
