We had some shocking results last year as well in matches that were important and mattered - Coventry, Birmingham anyone. Whilst not massively excited by the apoointment of Ince I was more than happy to give him a chance. I have to say I have always been more worried about the Dad's Army that is the backroom staff now. I really hope I'm wrong

I'm very disappointed that this has become public knowledge.

Has a post been removed? Sorry if am having a thicket attack, but can't suss out if this a general comment, or in response to a particular comment. Can someone help out please?

I'm presuming it's to do with the old 'new regime' unsettling players, criticisms, personality clashes etc. that folks tend to dream up anyways, but there seems to be a bit more gravitas here.

Thanks for your comments though Nicko

I bet that most of the 'anti-ince brigade' on here are rubbing their hands in delight with that article, shaking their heads and saying "see, I told you so"

As he said in the article "It is also normal for players to moan about a new manager as he looks to shake them from established routines and impose his personality."

Even Nicko says these teething problems happen.

Yes- which is why we are questioning whether the manager should really be at Rovers. We're questioning whether action should be taken before he screws up the good work that has taken place over the last 4 years. British is not necessarily best. We got lucky with Hughes. It's looking like we got unlucky (John Barnes at Celtic anyone) with Ince.

And we got beaten by BLACKPOOL. That's bad whatever the circumstances. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Jan, glad to see you're being objective about things. In what universe would you actually be complementary of the new regime? Which planets would have to align for you to actually be positive? It's the Archie Knox influence is it? Surely it's not that simplistic? Let's say we took wee Gordon Strachypants onto the staff, and things stayed EXACTLY as whatever they are just now that rattles you, would you still have as much vitriol?

I know that second half on Sat had an extreme effect on you, as it did many of us, but I'd be keen to know what small amount of credit you would be willing to concede, or to give an ounce of support. At the minute you sound like Witchfinder General and won't settle until you've dunked everyone into the canal!

Thanks for your help, was beginning to think I was truly blinkered with my 'Paul Ince is a football genius mantra'.

Quick point about being too quick to show opinions folks, we tend to do that too much at Ewood, and never learn. I'm not suggesting Ince will deffo be a success, just that it's too early to tell, and he's the manager of the club I SUPPORT, so that's what I will do for now.

Seem to recall everyone jumping to knock Oojer early doors, once he'd got fit & used to the pace of the game he soon showed his true self. Also recall a certain Brian Kidd wowing over sections of the crowd running to the touchline from the stands in a game he wasn't supposedly in charge of, oh how the masses loved his passion. Pity his passion levels were exponentially above his managerial talent levels.

Seem to also recall Hughes not exactly burning up the place until Bowen came in.

I'm very disappointed that this has become public knowledge.

Players talk all of the time...and there have been leaks on this for about two weeks.

I don't want to sound like a saint - or that I have gone soft - but THAT was why I went dark last Thursday. The Sunday People were going to run this story but I had to nip it in the bud because I feel it is too early and unfair to be throwing allegations like this about.

One or two players need to shut it, basically.

There ARE teething problems, but that happens. However there is no need for the level of chat that has been going round.

I will no doubt get a bit of a grilling from the People for not writing this particular story, but I feel that it is a bit unfair and the new regime needs time to get its act together.

I have a very fair idea where this has come from - and you might be able to work out for yourself what opposition club may have leaked this. Yeah spurs and bentley has stuck the knife in

I will say no more.

So clearly there is no chance of redemption in your book then? There's nothing there in your list that allows for progress, or change it seems.

I'm not aware of how Ince bad-mouthed us previously, feel free to elaborate.

Aren't we all deep down hypocrites as football fans? I hated Hughes as a player - yet believe him to be the best manager IMO in my time as a Rovers fan - and now I hate him again, well maybe not hate but I'm not keen still. If he came back, we'd celebrate and forget all that I'm sure.

At least I admire your honesty - you've already hung him out to dry, case closed it seems. It is about opinions, and I actually agree a lot with what you said on a few levels, truly I do.

What I do disagree with you is it seems you've made up your mind, and you're aligning facts to suit. If an article came out that counteracted everything the Mail did, you'd dismiss that as spin.

I'm all for objectivity, two (or more) sides to every story, and respect your opinions, but you do like the negative stuff don't you?

Moron? tssk, tssk

pre-season results dont bother me-pre season for me is all about fitness, trying players in new positions and trying new formations..

what is concerning me tho is this article

http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/footba...s.html?ITO=1490

some players not happy with ince..

I wonder if JW knows about this article - if not maybe those who live around ewood should do all they can to make sure he gets a copy. Because if it is true then maybe he will act before the season starts.

Just please let the season start now.any news on simpsons WAG Nicko?

We've lost 2 of our best players, gained an unknown quantity from YouTube, a MU reserve and an aged useless Scally. We have a squad that contains by all accounts players on the 'plump' side and who by two accounts do not equate with the new management team, and you want the season to start!!!??? WTF..... I'm bloody dreading it.

I cant believe some of the doomsday crap iv been reading on here lately - do these people actually support Blackburn?

I'd say all of em Hughesy..... Obviously! Now I suggest that a more valid question from you would be do they support Paul Ince and his managment team?

Good grief! Do you expect anybody who reads that statement DB to be ever likely to take your opinion seriously? Sorry but you have lost all credibility.

C'mon man, a tad excessive, no? You mean to tell me you've never changed your opinion based on your affinity to your club?

Look at why players get booed; we thought Shearer was fantastic, minute he left look what happened. Same thing will happen with Bentley. If by some miracle, Bentley came back, needless to say some folk would have a Damascene conversion.

My point being, at different levels, there is hypocrisy in all football fans based on their allegiance to a club. It's more finely developed in different folk but it's there all the same. For instance, you maybe are dreading the season, but if by some miracle it all works out gravy with Ince and his merry band, something in you would change and I'm sure your dread may change to a more positive feeling

TND, I imagine you are positively drooling at the the thought of the season starting. This way after your golf you can throw around more I told you so's.

Me I'm dreading it as a staunch Ince supporter prior to him being appointed I now dread having to type the words "you were right TND" :D Lord please spare me that.

yes.... but still benni, roberts zurab and ooijer played... hardly second string.

it might of been a second string blackpool team.

i agree they are just about fitness but its getting real close to the start of the season now.

Well, that is second string when you think about it- we might not agree with the selections but first string is probably RSC as the one with Nelsen and Samba as crntral defense.
