JAL Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 There is no excuse for losing all these games by saying its all about fitness. And we are dreaming if we think we will suddenly turn this all out to win after win in the PL once it begins... I think we are about to find out how important David Bentley was to the team, players make the difference and for quality Rovers players we are very very thin on the ground at this moment in time. Reitereating what sambas agent said to me, Blackburn we are going back to being a very small club running on extremely limited funds by todays standards - The Walker trustees are the people who are accountable for the direction we are currently going in they are the ones responsible for creating this negative feel about Rovers.
hawkiiz Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 at least neither carlos or simpson have played a second with our best line-up. losing bentley is not enough to screw up against wolves and blackpool. i dont want to read to much into it, but it is a concern that we let in 8 goals in two games against lower league teams - no matter whos playing. i wont freak out untill we have lost against NAC breda on saturday.
Hughesy Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I think the only thing that shows so far in our pre-season is that we need to get our back 4 sorted and we need to decide which is our strongest back line and get them working together. Saturday will be a better reflection of where we are up to if Ince plays his strongest team for 45 mins or so. I really hope we can see a quality midfielder come in this week – that is Key for our future success. I would also be happy to see Pennant join too, at least it gives us an out and out winger with potential. Nicko anything new, any new players being linked?
Heinz Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 What is Nigel Winterburn doing? 8 goals in 2 matches is pretty bad, from a defensive coach perspective..
thecomebackid Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I'm very disappointed that this has become public knowledge. Players talk all of the time...and there have been leaks on this for about two weeks. I don't want to sound like a saint - or that I have gone soft - but THAT was why I went dark last Thursday. The Sunday People were going to run this story but I had to nip it in the bud because I feel it is too early and unfair to be throwing allegations like this about. One or two players need to shut it, basically. There ARE teething problems, but that happens. However there is no need for the level of chat that has been going round. I will no doubt get a bit of a grilling from the People for not writing this particular story, but I feel that it is a bit unfair and the new regime needs time to get its act together. I have a very fair idea where this has come from - and you might be able to work out for yourself what opposition club may have leaked this. I will say no more. Fair play to you for keeping this under your hat Alan, but I think most of us recognise that you also have to earn a crust. Anyway, a few questions: Approximately how many (Rovers) players are we talking about here? How 'senior' (according to today's Mail online) are they? Is the opposition club in question interested in de-stabilising the new regime because it wants to unsettle particular individual players for its own agenda? Thanks
Hughesy Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 What is Nigel Winterburn doing? 8 goals in 2 matches is pretty bad, from a defensive coach perspective.. Take things into perspective eh! Yesterday was a reserve side, giving chances to untested players and unfit players. Wolves – we had no Nelsen, we didn’t have our set right back and also we had Mokoena in the middle of defence. We are also a couple of weeks behind them in fitness and also Wolves were more or less playing their strongest side, we were chopping and changing. Ince is simply having a good luck at all the players. He seems to already have marked some players cards – Vogel, Gallagher and maybe Benni!
Bazrakats Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 This is the same as when Mourinho left Chelsea. Stories of players not being happy. Just at a guess but sure McCarthy was the one mouthing of.
herbergeehh Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Blackburn after 10m Spurs ace So, 8m Santa to City, and 10m Lennon to Rovers...
Ewood and I Would Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Nah I'm with the David Bentley "parting shot" theory. Would make sense after reading this, if true.... http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=105676
almuncle Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 This is the same as when Mourinho left Chelsea. Stories of players not being happy. Just at a guess but sure McCarthy was the one mouthing of. Really? My money is on '' want-away Warnock'' and Newcastle stirring things up. I am sure if McCarthy ' s reported pre-season lack of interest is the case,he won't be hanging about to long either. But which club helped fuel the article if it was him?

Frisky Jim Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 The main suspects are Bentley and McCarthy. Mind you, the way Ince is carrying on, it could be anyone. What the hell is Ince playing at???

Why don't you sod off from where you came....? I've looked at your posts and all you can do is criticise mate....do me a favour and disappear. Seems like this board has had an influx of cretins....
Roar of the Rover Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I'd be suprised if Newcastle were still in for Warnock after we've just bought Bassong (CB and LB) and will tie up the Coloccini deal today or tommorow (CB, RB). Nicko, if you don't mind me asking, do you know if the Alan Smith to Everton story is true at all? (I know this is a Blackburn forum, but I'm not harming anyone). Yes it bloody well is. When US Rovers fans go off topic on here we get our posts deleted or moved if it isn't according to the rules. The rules clearly state BRFC only. Don't see why you should be an exception.
Sysagent Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Totally off the radar tomorrow, by the way. So no news for a bit. Don't think you are going to get any replies to the questions you are asking our inhouse journo for a while, reading the above.

Daremz Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Anthony Annan, anyone? If he's the next Essien, that would be plain brilliant!
