Frisky Jim Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Why don't you sod off from where you came....? I've looked at your posts and all you can do is criticise mate....do me a favour and disappear. Seems like this board has had an influx of cretins.... The club is in turmoil and you expect me to just shrug my shoulders? I don't think so. You may think that everything is ok at Rovers, but I bloody well don't.

Roar of the Rover Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Well you are! A bit rich that coming from a self confessed Liverpool fan who thinks the sun shines out of Rafa's arse. Im sticking to the rules and I don't see why he shouldn't. It doesn't say in the rules that only BRFC fans can post on here does it? If that was the case Nicko won't be on here. Come on Drog. It's simple! I don't see the issue. I contribute to the Blackburn chat. What's the problem asking one or two non Rovers related questions? It's up to Nicko if he wants to reply, but I don't see the harm at all. As for Rovers fans going off topic, you get them deleted or moved because they are unrelated to "asking Nicko a question" These are the rules, whether you like them or not. vintageadidas Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I hope we sign a very good DM and RW. I was hoping we would have gone for another young lad from Manchester for the right back poistion, Nedum Onuoha will be a top player and i am sure £4m would have got him. Worrying times at the moment with all the unrest and players leaving. We need the admiral back to steady the ship. It certainly looks like PI is going to be using youth this season. Judge will be used on a regular basis he has stated along with the chilean, simpson, derbyshire and so on. I was hoping Olsson would have run out, but nothing much so far. I really want to watch the NAC Brada game but have other commitments, the Wolves game hurt so i need some confidence restoring.
Hughesy Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 problem is we wont have Nelson for the start of the season and obviously ooijer or zurab will be stepping in. we will be chopping and changing the side for a few weeks yet. Erm I think you will find Nelsen will be back! - There goes your theory!
Oklahoma Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Come on people, do you really take what the press write or say seriously? They live with other people problems. And, even if any players wants away, they are pro, very well paid (too much in my opinion) so they just have to accept it.
The Gull Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Erm I think you will find Nelsen will be back! - There goes your theory! I'm sure Nelsen misses at least the first game if I remember the story correctly, he will play in the at least 2 group games for NZ and then return to us once they have them out of the way. The Olympics start on the 8th, whether the football starts then I don't know but even if it did I doubt he would be in any shape after the travel if they managed to fit 2 games in before next weekend and then fly him back for the Everton game. I'm sure I remember the story stating he would miss our first 2 games of the season. Just to keep this on topic, maybe Nicko could confirm this!?

Nelson is only playing the qualifying games and then home for Everton. That was the deal that Nelson said Ince had made with him to allow him to go - and he was very thankful to Ince for letting him play some part in the Olympics.

It's up to Nicko if he wants to reply, but I don't see the harm at all. You may not, but I do, as this is a BRFC board!! Contribute to the chat you say, are you for real? Your idea of contributing to this board, is continually asking if the Warnock deal is still on to Newcastle. I may have you on 'ignore', but your still cuttering up this board with irrelevant crap!

vintageadidas Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 He is a young Irish right winger / striker. Very attack minded, gets stuck in but a little on the small and weak side at the moment.
Hughesy Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Maybe panicking because we have signed simpson and maybe he is worried he will miss out on his lucrative move? Just wish we would sign a good midfielder that would improve our side - would be so much happier then
AJW Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 He is a young Irish right winger / striker. Very attack minded, gets stuck in but a little on the small and weak side at the moment. david thompson - ish?
T4E Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 david thompson - ish? What a player he was when he first signed. Absolutely magnificent. Injuries ruined him, as has happened to so many of our players.
The Prof. Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Well I had been alluding to this in previous posts but now it's broken. The training is by all accounts agricultural compared to Hughes approach - who was really ahead of his time - and this just makes the gap appear bigger than it might have seemed. Hodges/Bowen should have been offered the job. It isn't just Bentley and Ince is looking hapless. I really hope he gets it right - but you don't get a modern approach by appointing a couple of Grandads. I would like to see Ince looking like he's in charge and taking some innovative training session quickly. Holding my breath and will see what happens with Breda on Saturday.
vintageadidas Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 A poor mans Thompson at the moment. I enjoyed watching scrappy do but as stated above, injuries ruined his career.
almuncle Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Ochs resurfaces The guy who wrote that finally got his Ochs tale scoup! O.k I'll take my medicine now nurse...
Will Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Anthony Annan, anyone? If he's the next Essien, that would be plain brilliant! and Lee Mackel was the next Paul Gascoigne...
T4E Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 The guy who wrote that finally got his Ochs tale scoup! Very good work, sir.

Who are your "by all accounts" sources? I've seen one article by a journalist who has written rubbish about Rovers before.
The Prof. Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Can't really say - did I say I had a source? The journalist you've mentioned above really has been backed up by Nicko too. Sorry OJ but it's not just one player.
Plastic Head Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Just remember last season was one (if not THE) most dismal seasons we have ever had in terms of entertaining football and exitement at Ewood. Most of the games at home at least were charachterised by lack of chances, no attacking flair and some of the worst matches I had seen at Ewood in 35 years. Yes we attained a very creditable finishing position, but let's not think that everything was hunky-dory before Hughes left. If you look at some of the threads after the games you will see some of the discontent aired. I am uncertain as to how things will go this season as well as many others, just as I was before Hughes left. So Hughes/Bowen may well have had "modern" training methods, but it didn't produce much decent football did it?

So Hughes/Bowen may well have had "modern" training methods, but it didn't produce much decent football did it? Spot on! Scrappy football last season and managed to grind out results. Spurs away, Newcastle away, Sunderland home and the list can continue. New manager will mean new techniques. You have to also remeber most the players came to Rovers because of Sparky and now he has gone they are finding it hard to come to terms with the new regime. People might say a mark of a good team is getting points when they play bad BUT the fact is that we played scrappy football all season only a few performances seemed convincing other than that a season to forget.
