hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 andy is a good striker, but no tenner. if we sell benni for a couple of millions and buy andy for 10 i will scream my lungs out in anger.
roversmum Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 the ladies would like him on the bench, but he's always injured. Stay very clear Not this lady, and someone else's bench please.
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 looks like incey have begun talking back at the (Please dont use that word again) who (Please dont use that word again) him in the press. today he praises tugay
Manc Rover Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 all of a sudden we hate benni? what on earth did he do? He's done nothing (for about a year or so)!
The Prof. Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ers-future.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...ghes-limbo.html Things are looking good at city Good articles - thanks. Well Mr Hughes - what have you gone and done!
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 He's done nothing (for about a year or so)! pah. he was injured for good while. but he did net 10 goals or so. thats not bad. and he if sucks so much how come anyone wants to buy him?
The Prof. Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 huh. freddie ljungberg have been released by the hammers according to the daily mail. maybe we could give him a chance? worth having as backup? would we do it though? i bet sunderland grab him as soon as keane wakes up... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...mmers-door.html N0 thanks - another bedspace taken up - not his fault though. all of a sudden we hate benni? what on earth did he do? It's what he hasn't been doing for over a year - making an effort.
thenodrog Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 What has Ince done well? He's brought in a potentially top keeper, I'd love to see people suggest a few alternatives with Robinson's combination of ability, experience and for just 3.5 million. I'm not entirely buying that one Dirk. Is there only myself that see's that relatively low fee and Spurs willingness to drop about 3m as all part of the Bentley package in an obvious attempt to deny Arsenal as much money as possible without drawing too much attention to our actions? They wanted 6-7m remember and eventually capitulated without a whimper. I think we should thank Nicko for letting everyone know he was going off radar today. It has allowed discussion NOT peppered with "who has offended him" or "come back Nicko" or the dreaded "let's start a Facebook petition to get him back". We're all calm- he hasn't been hit by a bus. All is well with the world. Now I wish he would come back and give us good news!!! That could only happen if you woke up after a deep sleep and Mark Hughes was coming out of the shower towelling his hair! Just read the quote "Tugay told me" I bet his friends well happy Benni grassed him up! Maybe Tugay was working to JW's instruction? BLACKBURN have swooped to sign Julio Santa Cruz — younger brother of Roque. From that article........ Julio said: “Sometimes people say ‘Oh, you are Roque’s brother’. I hope now people know me for who I am.” Sorry Julio............... Obviously the penny's not quite dropped with Buryrover yet.
JAL Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 all of a sudden we hate benni? what on earth did he do? Its what he doesnt do, do you not go to the games.
AussieinUk Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Question for Nicko; Is Annan, 'little Rocky' and Baysse signed at all yet?
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Its what he doesnt do, do you not go to the games. i live in norway, so im not a season ticketer but i dont think he is that bad anyway.
67splitscreen Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Benni. Could it just be a case of his work rate for the team, and is not mobile enough for the way Ince wants the team to play. Playing one up top, if Roque is out we ,are a bit thin in the lone striker department. Most of our front men are more suited to 4-4-2.
Eddie Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Benni could play up front in a 4-5-1 so long as the wingers were good and the man just in behind got forward a lot. If Villanueva or Dunn prove to be effective in that role then Benni can manage. He is good at running the line and being high up the pitch and can also hold the ball up well and bring others into play. He'd be different to Roque, but it could still work depending on the other pieces.

almuncle Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Don't feel too sorry for him.I can't believe Hughes was the only person in the U.K not to know he was a crook when he joined City.
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 he should have followed his own rules. he told bellamy, benni and bentley among others that the grass is not greener at any other club, so he made them stay. now he will pay the price.
Eddie Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Do you mean he gets offside a lot That's true, but when he was allowed to be our striker higher up the pitch he banged in the goals for fun. When he was asked to play behind Roque he struggled.
67splitscreen Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I hope things don't change in a hurry at City. Let um suffer for a bit. The longer it drags on, the deeper they sink. One less to worry about for the top six places.
nicko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 SABLE - Doing ok in games and training. ANNAN - Doing well in training. Decision time on both soon. ROQUE 2 - Thanks to the PMer for the tip on that, sadly could not find out anything about him before the story broke. Good idea to bring the kid in for company - not sure he is good enough. BENNI AND GALATASARAY - No idea, but possible. PENNANT - Liverpool want to sell, you might have to watch this space. MAN CITY PROBLEMS - Told you.
nicko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 And this is interesting too... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle4467155.ece
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 ANNAN - Doing well in training. you know anything about the arm injury? will it put a possible bid on hold? do you know anything concrete about the pricetag?
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko, do you think we will be signing just one out of Sable or Annan, competing one position? or are we looking to bring both in?
BlueMG Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Can't find much at all on young SC. Anyone know anything about him? (Apart from who his brother is?)
