The thing with Chicken pox is that most of us contract it when we are little, but it doesn't necessarily come out in everyone immediately. Once you've caught it, the virus can hide away in your spine, and when it appears in later life it is usually because of stress, or when extremely run down.

Mine surfaced when i was 22 and i came home to find a burglar stood in the living room. Nice.

My only fear with this is that it may have only surfaced in Carlos due to the stress of the move - New country, new club etc. The club needs to do everything they can to make sure this lad settles - It's not a good start for him, Chicken pox gets worse the older you are - He'll not be feeling very good about himself at all right now, and if he's already stressed...

I've also heard it can be pretty bad getting it later in life! I hope the burglar caught your manpox and sufferd in pain for breaking in to your house!

Nicko - any news of the new reserve coach/manager yet? What's the latest with Cisse, he was a strong target this close season for the last regime, and his pace would still be a good asset surely? Just needs lots of Farleys Rusks for his calcium levels.

No word on the coach.

And there will be no bid for Cisse.

According to this article Hughes doesn't know anything about Corluka leaving. He says he'll have to look into it!

Strange state of affairs Nicko?

Not if you had been reading these threads...excatly as predicted and outlined.

Don't remember you saying that deals, apart from Jo, were being done behind Hughes' back.

I said Jo wasn't his idea - neither was Ronaldinho. Not sure Ben Haim was either.

And I have said until I am blue in the face that there are huge financial problems at the place.

Check back if you feel the need.

i have a question about Villanueva... its probably pretty stupid though.

We have him on loan which means we'll just be paying his wages. And those wages are the wages he's paid in Chile. Surely Chilean players dont get paid very much (judging by what his teams stadium looked like), so how is he going to live over here on rubbish wages?

Will we be paying him extra to play for us?

Yes, quite a decent wage - but nowhere near nornal Premier League levels.

I hope he doesn't ask around... ;)

Thanks for the answer ref Cisse, drat. Hope they get a decent reserve coach in, do think it's important as Hodges seemed popular down there & can only be a positive. Still it's good character building stuff for Bowyer (sp?) at present.

Will there be a big signing/open day like they did last season with RSC? I hope so, that was a good vibe & good PR move by them, I'm hoping they're just waiting to finalise the players in then they can have them all in a line like Chelsea did with Duff, Bridges etc.

Bring on Villanueva - "Listen as the crowd would sing, Now the old king is dead. Long live the king." (with a nod to Coldplay)

to be fair, he must be in some kind of dream world right now. Gone from a RUBBISH tiny 8,500 seater stadium to a lovely, nice, big (in comparison) Ewood Park, and gone from like probably £850-1000 a week max, probably less, to what? like 10-15 grand a week?

Lucky boy

Nicko...any idea what on earth is going on at Fulham? They've just signed 37 old Swiss international keeper Zuberbuhler...added to the already strange signing of Schwarzer. They already have Anti Niemi and Kasey Keller.

Why the need for that many old goalkeepers?!

That signing has to be purely for the name. If i were a fulham supporter i'd definately be saving up (many) pennies for that.

Is this right Nicko? Sounds like good news...

From the ever reliable and utterly sound source that is SSN ;)http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_3941082,00.html

Annan is here and has a chance of signing.

But there is no decision yet.

Nicko - Do you know if all of our transfer targets are looking to be signed before the season opener against Everton?

With 10 days to go and still some key positions to fill, I just dont think they will all go through in time..

There should be answers on Annan, Sable, Bassye and maybe even Fowler by the end of the week.

Once that is sorted then it's probably two 'money' buys by the end of the month.

Before the Everton game? Touch and go.

No need to get angry. We all know that Jo and Ronaldinho were being negotiated before Hughes went, that was common knowledge.

That's totally different to what I was asking about, are players being sold behind Hughes' back?

Extra! Extra! Read all about it. Ince's personna draws young future star to Rovers Extra! Extra!

Chelsea were also tipped off about Annan by Essien - but Blackburn are now in pole position to land the player after making their move last week. Annan is now training with Rovers and he is ecstatic to be in the company of new boss Ince - who he regards as an inspirational figure within the game.

I wasn't getting angry...you would know if that happened.

What I was saying is that Man City don't have the money they claim to have. It is not what Hughes signed up for when he read the brochure.

Corluka is being offered around behind the scenes...

And he is NOT the only one.

i hope we get Annan, he's supposed to be one of the best young players in the world at the moment and midfield is an area we all know needs strengthening.

Robinson

Someone-Nelsen-Samba-Warnock

Carlos-Annan-Dunn-Pedersen

Santa Cruz-McCarthy

Not a bad squad really.

I would think the 'strongest team' by the end of the month will look like this:

Robinson

SIMPSON -Nelsen-Samba-Warnock

EMERTON -Annan- AN OTHER - VILLANUEVA - Pedersen

Santa Cruz.

The AN OTHER is the intriguing one.

am very proud to have the opportunity to work with Paul Ince, everybody in world football knows what a great player he was and to have the opportunity to learn from him is fantastic

I hope Mathias will do

You'd have to think that maybe they would be ready to cash in on Richards, maybe a case of nobody has the money for him, I wouldn't say he is hugely better than Corluka so maybe in their financial prediciment they may be prepared to accept say 12-15 million. A tempter for someone surely, we have a fair bit of money but think his wage demands would put us off and he would probably be looking to move to a side regularly in europe.

I'm not sure we need a right back costing that much either, we could have a quiet ask about Corluka though. Think big!

I think its fairly safe to assume Rocky won't be going to Man City, the only one that worries me is if Spuds come looking if Berbatov goes to Man Utd.

Very happy with the new signings so far though as well as the potential trialists which look likely to be offered contracts.
