almuncle Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Annan - "The atmosphere was friendly and bubbly" Ha Ha! The Daily Mail will be scratching their heads at that one! They would if they had the brain cells to control such co-ordination
DeadlyDirk Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I would think the 'strongest team' by the end of the month will look like this: Robinson SIMPSON -Nelsen-Samba-Warnock EMERTON -Annan- AN OTHER - VILLANUEVA - Pedersen Santa Cruz. The AN OTHER is the intriguing one. You don't see Villanueva starting for us? Or is that the case of him catching up due to chicken pox etc. I would also expect to see Dunn starting the majority of games since he has been made vice captain. (Haha you cheeky rascal, you edited your post and took our McCarthy for Villanueva didn't you, can't believe you forgot him!!) Think we could be looking at one up front and attacking wingers possibly. I'd be looking at something like this for now..... Robinson Simpson Nelson Samba Warnock Emerton Dunn Villanueva Annan Pedersen Santa Cruz
Esulx Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 DD... isnt that the same line-up as Nicko's other than you've replaced AN Other for Dunny!!!
ebenrocks Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Let's raid city! haha good idea, turn the tables on Hughesy. Lets take all his backroom staff.
ThatRabbitsDynamite Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 am very proud to have the opportunity to work with Paul Ince, everybody in world football knows what a great player he was and to have the opportunity to learn from him is fantastic I hope Mathias will do Maybe Ince's Blue and White Army is just starting to roll?!!?!
BlueMG Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 You don't see Villanueva starting for us? Think we could be looking at one up front and attacking wingers possibly. I'd be looking at something like this for now..... Robinson Simpson Nelson Samba Warnock Emerton Dunn Villanueva Annan Pedersen Santa Cruz I'd still like to see us playing 4-4-2 and mixing it up a bit, but I am more than happy with that line up!

joey_big_nose Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko - do you think we won't be signing any right winger then as you ahve Emerton in that team out wide?... Why do you think that?
nicko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko named him in his squad. 1-4-5-1! I did after realising my mistake and editing it. Who'd be a manager, eh? Nicko - do you think we won't be signing any right winger then as you ahve Emerton in that team out wide?... Why do you think that? It's just a hunch.
Ricky Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I'd like to see Emerton in the holding midfield role where he looked good towards the end of last season. Then a pacy right winger
T4E Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Extra! Extra! Read all about it. Ince's personna draws young future star to Rovers Extra! Extra! Chelsea were also tipped off about Annan by Essien - but Blackburn are now in pole position to land the player after making their move last week. Annan is now training with Rovers and he is ecstatic to be in the company of new boss Ince - who he regards as an inspirational figure within the game. Absolutely hilarious! The spin machine is in to overdrive now, JW is pulling out all the stops. Nicko - have you been contacted and asked to print something positive about the management team?
bob fleming Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko - have you been contacted and asked to print something positive about the management team? I hope not, we'll have nothing positive around here thank you very much.
AussieinUk Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Absolutely hilarious! The spin machine is in to overdrive now, JW is pulling out all the stops. T4E they're Annan's comments, not JW's. Anwyay, a bit of spin never hurt anyone.. I do hope we get a pacy right winger..
nicko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko - have you been contacted and asked to print something positive about the management team? I think you know me better than that.
Al Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 T4E they're Annan's comments, not JW's. Anwyay, a bit of spin never hurt anyone Looks to me like Annan fancies a move to Rovers and is brown nosing the manager. Or am I just a cynical old sod?
The Rover of Finland Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko, is there gonna be any sales? We seem to build a big squad. Wages must be very high. Gally and Rigters should be sold. We would get atleast £1.5 million. And what about Benni? He is useless as a sub. And starting eleven is not guaranted. Annan and winger in! Few guys bye bye.
PAFELL Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Ince has said he is looking to attack with pace. I know its the wrong side but time to look at buying Petrov from City? Totally agree = Petrov is a good player in my view - yes wrong side, but can either he or pedersen play on the left? Prob;em dealing with city is they would try for RSC in the deal somehow. Annan maybe. Sable - possible trial game. Villanueva - probably best to keep him away from his mates if he has chicken pox. But you will probably see Robinson, Simpson and Fowler if you are lucky If thats all the luck I can look forward to then I am doomed.. Annan maybe. Sable - possible trial game. Villanueva - probably best to keep him away from his mates if he has chicken pox. But you will probably see Robinson, Simpson and Fowler if you are lucky.
DeadlyDirk Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I'd still like to see us playing 4-4-2 and mixing it up a bit, but I am more than happy with that line up! Yeh Nicko had Mccarthy in for Villanueva first but then edited it. I think that is going to be the main spine of the team, it obviously depends on whether or not we sign Annan and more importantly just how good he is and whether or not he is suited to the premiership, you could see Emerton moved into the middle for either Annan or Dunn and a new right midfielder bought in. The striker situation is still a bit of a strange one for me, I don't know how he is going to prioritise them, It's fair to assume that Santa Cruz will be number 1 then more than likely we will have Roberts and McCarthy as next in line as either subs or his partner in a 4-4-2, then you have the likes of Derbyshire followed by Fowler, Gallagher, Rigters, Santa Cruz Jr. It strikes me that we have a fair few strikers of similiar ability. I wouldn't mind a partner coming in for Santa Cruz, I'd be happy to see Emerton given a go on the right of midfield again with the likes of Dunn and Reid filling in when needed. Nicko, we all know Owen's contract is expiring soon, if he doesn't sign a new one, would you expect to see the big four come in for him again or not due to his age and injury history, would he be tempted by a move to Rovers do you feel if the money was right? Wonder how Ince and Owen got on in their Liverpool days. People might think that he wouldn't want to come to us but I still feel were a better side than Newcastle this year, we definitely were next year. If the big four don't want him then his likely options could well involve us or a move abroad again, which we all know didn't work out too well for him last time.
Lurid Coat Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I'd be a bit sad if Vogel's playing time is limited to cup appearances and the like this season - I really liked what I saw of him last season, and I've been a fan of his since Euro 1996. However, it would make for a nice change to actually have several decent central midfield players in our ranks! It's being rumoured on various West Ham forums that they're after Benni McCarthy. Any truth in this, Nicko?
PAFELL Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko...any idea what on earth is going on at Fulham? They've just signed 37 old Swiss international keeper Zuberbuhler...added to the already strange signing of Schwarzer. They already have Anti Niemi and Kasey Keller. Why the need for that many old goalkeepers?! Not a good defence I suppose and if there all the size of big fat sam, they'd fill the goal.
almuncle Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Not a good defence I suppose and if there all the size of big fat sam, they'd fill the goal. Maybe they saw what we got for Brad and they are stockpiling? Goalkeeper mountain
AussieinUk Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Looks to me like Annan fancies a move to Rovers and is brown nosing the manager. Or am I just a cynical old sod? Just cynical Al, just cynical.
