blue/white Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I think his underpants are too tight......(Ljungberg) Mum, did you dredge that photo out of your personal files ??? I'm most suspicious--- especially after your inference that Freddie was NOT your cup of tea.
Mozzer Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 nicko-everton are saying they should be signing a player very soon-any idea who???? apparntly paul ince isnt happy with the shape of benni mcarthy-maybe he could get rid and bring someone else in..
blue/white Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 No word on the coach. And there will be no bid for Cisse. Not if you had been reading these threads...excatly as predicted and outlined. Wow.... Sparkie CANNOt be a happy camper these days!!! Maybe we should set aside some $$$$ for the January window to convince him to come back, it might take less than what he was making during his first stint. (and before everyone comes down on me, I was merely being facetious)
nicko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Nicko, we all know Owen's contract is expiring soon, if he doesn't sign a new one, would you expect to see the big four come in for him again or not due to his age and injury history, would he be tempted by a move to Rovers do you feel if the money was right? Wonder how Ince and Owen got on in their Liverpool days. People might think that he wouldn't want to come to us but I still feel were a better side than Newcastle this year, we definitely were next year. If the big four don't want him then his likely options could well involve us or a move abroad again, which we all know didn't work out too well for him last time. Owen's wages are ridiculous. That won't happen. nicko-everton are saying they should be signing a player very soon-any idea who???? apparntly paul ince isnt happy with the shape of benni mcarthy-maybe he could get rid and bring someone else in.. Everton are still hopeful on Moutinho and M'Bia...but we have heard all of this before. Selling McCarthy would certainly bring in some more cash.
Lurid Coat Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Selling McCarthy would certainly bring in some more cash. Apparently in for talks at Upton Park tomorrow, if rumours are to be believed?
Mozzer Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 i fail to see how selling mcarthy would be a huge mistake-he never had a great season last season-and by all accounts isnt looking that great in pre-season this season.. we could get 4million for him and buy someone who atleast looks interested in playing for us..
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Apparently in for talks at Upton Park tomorrow, if rumours are to be believed? Really? I thought people had to bid for a player before doing contract negotiations. You know, getting money. That sort of thing?
modes98 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 3 Englishman in the entire team. So what!?! I'd rather we play good football and get points than have a team of englishmen! apparntly paul ince isnt happy with the shape of benni mcarthy-maybe he could get rid and bring someone else in.. It's fair enough if he has a value replacement who will score goals lined up. Benni's goal scoring stats even last season we're far superior to the other bench fodder, maybe look to unload the one that doesn't score enough (Roberts) and not the one that does. Benni has had 2 seasons but still has a record for us of nearly a goal every other game (35 goals in 78 games), not to shabby. His attitude (Andy Cole syndrome) is the main concern but given a run of games he does score goals.
flintoff Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 id rather see mccarthy upfront the that clown roberts
Alan75 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I hope not, we'll have nothing positive around here thank you very much. I wish people would stop being polite.
joey_big_nose Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Apparently in for talks at Upton Park tomorrow, if rumours are to be believed? I could actually see that happening. They need another striker. It would mean we could get good money for him too as West ham are mugs! 4m would be v. nice. McCarthy could be quite effective with Bellamy to play off. Not sure he would be much cop with Ashton though.
1864roverite Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 wham do not have any money to splash out on transfer fees. They have to pay off brown (Ex director) and others before they can splash out any more money and this is partly behind the reasons why they are offlaoding Lungberg and Solano, selling Lucash and MCCartney ! And in any case they already have Bellamy, Ashton and Cole as the big men up front not to mention the young lad who scored versus Rovers last season.
Sparky Marky Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 id rather see mccarthy upfront the that clown roberts You weren't at Notlob last season then?
T4E Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I think you know me better than that. I wouldn't expect you'd have gone a long with it, but it wouldn't be surprised if they chanced their arm nonetheless.

flintoff Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 You weren't at Notlob last season then? no but i was at upton park last season and he missed a sitter there that even i could have scored mccarthy is a much better finisher
nicko Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I wouldn't expect you'd have gone a long with it, but it wouldn't be surprised if they chanced their arm nonetheless. True. I do agree that there have been a couple of 'hand-outs' today though...I mean 'Roque's kid brother signs for reserves' is not exactly huge news. We could do with a Carlos Villanueva Day...but is he's Pomegranite Face with the chicken pox as well as Pineapple Head it wouldn't be a pretty picture.
imy9 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I am surprised no one has asked Nicko, so I will: You said : "The AN OTHER is the intriguing one." Do we have any targets in mind?
HertsRover Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 EMERTON -Annan- AN OTHER - VILLANUEVA - Pedersen The AN OTHER is the intriguing one. Any hints on who the "intriguing" A N OTHER is Nicko? Beat me to it imy9!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 It could be intriguing as in "he doesn't know which player will go there" as opposed to an "intriguing player we haven't yet got." I'd think it was Dunn/Reid, depending on opposition/form/injuries. Unless there is another person being lined up better than those two?
ThatRabbitsDynamite Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Spurs fail at Ashton attempt. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...3939402,00.html At the risk of being lambasted, what/where is Notlob?
