I am surprised no one has asked Nicko, so I will:

You said : "The AN OTHER is the intriguing one." Do we have any targets in mind?

I think that is THE area that is being concentrated on...and I don't think the club knows who that is yet.

I think that CM is THE area we have been focusing on for some time - which is good.

Although surely now we have 2 areas which have to be focussed on RW and CM? Anyone who saw Emerton's years on the right wing would surely agree... we need pace out there and Emerton is better either in the middle or at right back.

emerton can beat anybody in the world for pace on his day but doesnt. anytime he gets in a position to do so he goes back on him self and passes. it really was frustrating during the souness era unless ince can sort that out then we need another rm.

Hahahahaha.

Are you available for parties?

I've always said Emerton is easily the quickest player at Ewood and Bentley confirmed that on Soccer Am last year. When at full speed he is never beaten for pace.

Unfortunately for a footballer, it takes him about 10 yards to get to full pace!

I did. That bit I agree with. Doesn't change the fact that the bit that I quoted was complete tripe.

he has pace but doesnt use it. that is what i was trying to say. watching him he could beat anybody but didnt.

Fastest player at Ewood doesn't make him the fastest player in world football. He's fast, but not THAT fast.

You never know. Maybe he's joining Nelson at the Olympics but not to play football !

He'd be great at the 100m with a rolling start !

Nicko,

Last week SAF said they had mad a bid for a striker(Berbatov) can you confirm who?

Since the Simpson deal PX/Loan with Steel, have you herd of any other interest for one of our players in the last couple of days from SAF.(rumour from another board)

Lets take a look at Berts perdormances last season on the right.

From January onwards, with old big gob down the right side in each and every game Bert was making great runs down the right but old big gob declined to make the pass keeping it to himself. Emertons back tracking was simply superb and for me he emerged as one of our players of the season.

I think that he is ok at right back and would prefer him there with Pennant on the right side with him.

I completely agree with that, I was never much a fan of Brett, but last season really changed my mind on him! had a fantastic season

Bert will stay here to he retires, he can play in so many roles and gives 100%

He corrected a few Bentley cock ups last year too, tracking back like he did.

Father in law (liverpoo fan) has just this minute arrived home from Pontefract races and is adamant that Liverpool have agreed to sell Pennant and Voronin in order to generate the extra money required for them to complete the gareth barry transfer.

He is positive that Rovers are in for Pennant and it is suggested that Voronin may go back abroad or to Newcastle.

Any views Nicko on this supposed rumour ?

I don't think there has ever been so much money around in the Premier League...

And yet to many clubs are up to their eyes and beyond in debt.

This summer is the craziest and most depressing I have ever known.

"Inevitable" is a word that you should have been able to fit in somewhere Al. Just like house prices, credit card debt etc etc sooner or later the lunacy had to end.
