Given your track record on Dunn, I am warming to the idea of signing Fowler.

Fowler will sign, look at it this way at least we didn't get Andrews at 1.5M instead we got a 5th striker which we need with 7 subs being named who is capable of coming on a nicking a goal.

To be fair Phil, Dunn is crap, but not the sourcerer of all evil. But whilst we're on about track records.....

shilito15, soap, mouth, wash. Dunn has a lot to offer hes a home boy (we need them for europe). Given his injury and the process he had to go through to get over, hes done very well. He'll make a good impact player and if he's got a bit more protection behind him he could do well. I think we''ll see more of the old dunners this season.

Isn't Owen on 105K a week, look he would be good with RSC but I can see a huge queue out of Williams office of players going "pay rise please".

Um, "THAT" central midfielder? Is that not Carlos? The only thing our midfield has been missing for ages is a creative force who can open up defences and score goals.

If we bring in Annan then our team will be much better than it was last season. We finally have a right back, a creative attacking midfield playmaker and possibly a very good enforcer. All looks good to me! I really don't think we'll miss bentley this season and I would like to see Judge given a fair crack at that right sided spot before splashing millions on somebody else. If he has a run of games during August and doesn't impress then we can bring somebody in on 31st August.

But I am looking forward to the new season, I think it could be a good year for us. Especially if Nicko is right and Annan signs today.

Edit - Doesn't Owen have a release clause?

I have a feeling the release clause could be something to do with a top four club coming in for him. Not sure though.

Peculiar things all over the place.

My Norwegian man says Annan has left Rovers...without signing. This will have to be explained.

McCarthy and Everton? Not likely and not at £7 million I would suggest.

However the interest in a replacement striker is 'live.' Not naming this guy yet.

Decisions on Fowler and Sable shortly.

Pennant is definitely being offered...but nothing seems to hbe noving too fast on that one.

It's all a bit strange just now.

That link offers an answer to the main theory that people had with regards to Fowler - It's an obvious association to make, but it's nice to hear it from "the horses mouth".

There's also a good article on there from Ooijer mainly about his dissappointment with the Euro exit, but again it points to weaknesses in the old regime and comments on how good the general feeling of the camp is at the moment.

If you ask me, things are looking up - However much we say we ignore rubbish such as the article in the mail, it's obvious that people are being swayed by all the negative publicity. Things have been, and will be in the future, much worse than they are right now - Compiling all the articles together it actually sounds like things are coming together quite nicely. We've arguably strengthened already, replace Bentley and we're looking much better than last year. Confidence is growing.

Edit - How come every single time i try to make a positive post, someone gets in front of me with some info that makes my post look like absolute twaddle. The Annan thing had better come out positive now or else i'm going to have some serious sulking to do :)

That is weird, Rovers were very keen to sign him, this surely leaves the door open for others to sign Annan up.

The 'live' name Nicko are we likely to be excited or depressed by the name when it is revealed?

Nicko in the telegraph it says Ince want to see Annan play in a competitive game so he has gone back over to norway to play for his club tonight and rovers will go to watch him and then he'll sign for rovers next week. This weekends game isn't competitive enough for ince with it being a friendly.

Good news - Ince seems to be settling in and making sure he gets what he wants. I am slowly warming to him despite not really knowing why. Perhaps he is coming across a a more thoughtful bloke than I anticipated or maybe he seems to have acted a little more dignified than I expected. Can't quite put my finger on it but I'm getting a little more excited about this season than before.

ANNAN was always going to leave today. He was brought in on monday, and was told to get back on friday - today.

no fee have been agreed, and apparantly no bid either, so there is nothing surprising in this. he is supposed to play on SUNDAY, not today. this has always been the deal.

he has impressed. a lot apparantly. and we will most likely make a bid during the weekend, no?

annan has been playing competitive games all summer. for sure the rovers guys have seen him several times this year and should not need to have a look this weekend. my guess is that it is just the formality of a having a bid accepted that is standing in our way. both clubs are keen on the deal, and the player are very keen.

its a matter of time for sure.

EDIT:

Rovers wanted to have annan on trial for another week, but there was no chance of that happening because of his contract, and he is supposed to play for Stabæk until august 31.

there is NO agreement at this point.

he IS back in norway, and the norwegian physio stated Annan is fit and sharp for the match on sunday

Any idea as to why?? Annan impressed me at the African Nations is he still unable to get a permit, if he is he can marry my sister it'll get her outta my house!!!

Its not this guy is it Target? I've just had a lovely Email from a mate in Greece with a giant laughing emoticon.

He is being rather meticulous, and cautious over his signings, which hopefully will be a good thing. Given the touting we've heard about Annan, I hope someone doesn't nip in a steal him from under our noses.

how? according to Stabæk, Svein Mathisen (sport director at Start) there are no agreements, and rovers wanted to have annan for another week, but because of his contract, he cant.
