I doubt its Castillo since Nicko said its good news for some and bad for others...Castillo was good news for all I reckon...

Duff would fit that.

Fowler would but why is he an old friend, as he is still here at the club.

Andrews could be but he wouldnt be good news for anyone.

This is what I posted (tidied up not to encourage a war breaking out again):

Wages are up by about £4m to £40m, gate income down by about £1m (poor cup runs and reduced prices) media income up by nearly £20m.

How are wages up 4 Million?

We have got rid of Bentley, Friedal & Savage – Who between them would earn around 7-8 million per season.

We have added (so far) Vogel , Robinson, Villanueva (Loan) & Simpson (Loan) – Which combined will be around 4 million.

We have greatly reduced costings on staff- Hughes was on nearly 2million per season. Ince will be on nowhere near that amount. Add to that Bowen & staff- One could expect rovers to save anywhere between 1-2.5 millions on staff

We have also released Henchoz, Berner & Enkleman – Who probably would accrue wages of around 1.5 million per season.

We have given 5 1st team players new contracts- One could assume an extra £250,000 per player. This is around 1-2 millions.

We then have incremental pay rises written into player’s contracts. Perhaps an extra 5-10% on 6-8 contracts my guess would be 2 million- at most allocated to this.

There is no evidence whatsoever to assume that wags for this season will be up 4 million- Indeed it would sae to say overall wages will remain static or even be down on last season.

Nets to a £15m improvement of which £7m gets swallowed up paying off the excess borrowings from last year when Rovers bought ahead of the Prem going mad. Add back the Savage sale income of 1.5m as was pointed out and you get to a starting point of:

Net £9.5m to spend- Nicko said £10m.

Add £3m contribution from the Walker Trust

Add £4m profit on the management change.

Add £500K on the Garner sell-on fee.

Add £750K on budget saving by not paying Hughes et al in June and not paying Bentley his new contract.

Add £9m on Bentley if Arsenal get 50%

Minus £1m on Robinson/Friedal

Minus £4m set to one side for Villanueva

The trust have stated they will make more money avaialble later in the season- which will cover this proposed transfer. Should the club make this a permanant deal
