Hughesy Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 We need to set up a league when it comes out - anyone up for it?
Cocker Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 We need to set up a league when it comes out - anyone up for it? I would be but the problem with the online league with last years one is that if a few people have played their games and someone else dosent turn up then the league just stops and cant move on. There should be a way that after a certain amount of time if a game hasnt been played then it goes to a draw or something.
Hughesy Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 The league owner can kick others out if they don’t play their games though – so that’s an option?
Dan Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Fifa09 Features an online 10 v 10 mode, it also allows you to get together with 20 people(though ten can only play at once) and form a team to battle against other peoples teams. It'll feature relegation's and promotions etc checkout this link EA Forum Sounds cool, but I can't see me joining a random games forum to play in a team. Now if this forum could get together a squad it might be really cool ;-) Bagsy being Right winger!!
Hughesy Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 For anyone planning on buying from a shop. £29.99 from Argos with a free size 5 footy.
Dan Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 PES2009 demo out on Thursday too, so we can see what we're not missing and how bad Seabass has made the series! Wiining 11 Blog
BuckyRover Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 The FIFA 09 review is up on IGN. It scored 8.9/10 It says it's a good game but still has some niggles that blight the gameplay Review
dopper69 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Will a BRFCS league be set up for Fifa 09? If so add me in please. PSN Lindop. Wouldn't mind being blackburn or Bayern Munich. In the meantime if anyone fancies a match on Fifa 08 drop me a line.
Hughesy Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Yeah we can set one up. Maybe have a rule though, like no 5 star teams allowed - therefore giving people the chance to be the likes of Blackburn and still stand a chance? What do people think?
Guest Kamy100 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Sounds good to me and maybe a rule that you have to play a minimum of 3 games a week.

No barca lol Maybe a few matches a week?
Hughesy Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Im on PS3. For those that are online more often, you can just invite people for league games anyway so you can get your games played quicker if you want anyway. Im always online, usually from 8pm - 12 so it wont be a problem for me. But yeah for those that dont play as much maybe a rule that they must play 3 games a week as a minimum so that those players dont spoil the league. Its a shame you cant set the league up with these type of rules so that if it doesnt happen then the game becomes forfeited. So rules so far: 4 1/2 star teams or lower only Must play minimum of 3 games a week Anything else?
Guest Kamy100 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 I would say 5 minute halves. If you disconnect when scores are level then replay match. If you disconnect when you are winning the replay match If you disconnect when opponent is winning the lose match 3-0.
dopper69 Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 PS3 here too. I'm online most nights anything between 6pm and 11pm so games should be OK. Next questions what teams are we being?
Hughesy Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Kamy - does it allow you to set rules like that though? Dopper - surely that is a secret until the teams are entered?? Hoping to get the game tomorrow!
Guest Kamy100 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Nope it only allows you to set times for halves all the rest is about self policing within the league, played in lots of online leagues and the ones that worked well had these types of rules.
novella Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Id probably be up for this on the 360. gamertag: Nove11a
Hughesy Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 But how can you police if someone quits or disconnects? The result already stands as a win for the other gamer doesnt it?
ihtd Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Count me in on the PS3 version. my PSN name is brfc1987! I'll have the game tommorrow but won't be online until about 5-ish when I get in from work. Will be on practically everynight after that and a fair few afternoons/mornings depending on university work and job work, so getting through all my games shouldn't be a problem.
Hughesy Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Should we wait a week before we set the league up, that way people can refine thier game play 1st? Im off to pick mine up after work - £45, but a day early!!! If anyone wants one today, on all formats, then get to Cannings Video in Leigh. The naughty man has them for sale NOW!
Guest Kamy100 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Yup deffo wait a week and then setup the league as people will need time to practice etc. I'll setup one on the 360 and if someone else wants to setup one on the PS3. I should be able to play in both.
Hughesy Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Just got the game now, so reviews will follow a little later.
brfcjon Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I really hope the proper game is better than the demo. I rarely ever loose on the hardest level. Winning is not very often either though. Either I draw 0 - 0 or win 1 -0. Its the same flaws as in 08 only it looks better. Its frustrating when fifa regulate difficulty via making opponent players faster, stronger etc. and player controlled players slower, weaker etc. In the demo fx running with the ball controlling ronaldinho, pato, malouda etc. your outrun by the slowest of defenders. Also when mediocre defenders get whitin touching distance they slow you down or by some strange way just jumps in frint of you controlloing the balle perfectly. No hassle. When you run onto a chipped throughball its like the player you are controlling are inslow motion. or is it just me? - these things where recognised flaws in 08 on most messagge boards and it seems to me they are still very much there.... Q: are anyone having luck with crosses on the hardest level Q: anyone found a usefull way to create chances? Q: is it just me gets caught out by petr C. from chelski every tim. Even though its from 10 yards out
