67splitscreen Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Sorry mate quite keen to see the vid's but there both just garbled coloured lines?? No problems for me.
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Essien is one of the best all round midfielders in the world. If Annan is a similar type of player then I think it’s a great move.
philipl Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 It is easy journalism to call him the new Essien- both play for Ghana. The fact is that Essien and Obi are man mountains whereas this lad is a small terrier-like midfielder. Encouraged by nicko saying Annan has done well in the trial and the LT suggesting we are about to sign him. I believe he could prove to be a very high quality addition.
Karembeu Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 If it is as good as they say, then we did get someone who is very interesting in years to come. But hope he won't be a flop like some of the youngster...
AussieinUk Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I hope we dont get 'guzumped' on this deal.... I have a feeling we might - although he is saying the right things for a move to us
joey_big_nose Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I don't think we will get gazumped. He has been available for ages and no one has taken the risk. This is a bit of speculative one, and one that Hughes clearly didn't fancy when he was here, but I think it could be a good 'un.
Eddie Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Hughes wanted to sign him, but it was well before the ACN so he couldn't get a work permit. He's obviously held in high regard, but then so was MGP and no one turned scouts and interest levels into bids. I think we'll get him now. He would obviously like the move, we have the money and I think our interest is serious enough that we'll write the cheque.
LeChuck Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Chelsea have lost Sidwell and Makelele this summer, so it wouldn't surprise me if they came in with a late bid.
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 im so torn about this kid you wont believe it. deep down i dont really fancy him, but he is so incredibly hyped that i tend to hope we pull it off just in case.
Hughesy Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 In by the weekend?? Annan to be offered contract??
Majiball Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 In by the weekend?? Annan to be offered contract?? I'd like to see hima againast Breda TBH, would be good to see how he gets on.
damo gally Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Dont think anyone else has posted this, short video of him in action.
roverich Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I like him after seeing that video although didn't see many similarities with Essien except his colour and nationality, well not until the end and that photo of the two footed tackle... nice. Probably worth a gamble given the money we've now got from Bentley's transfer.
Martin Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Looks like a really tenacious player from that video. I'm impressed. Although he was very small for a central midefielder. That never stopped Makelele being great mind. How much is he costing? Surely it can't be much. £2m perhaps?
vintageadidas Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 No worries with his size to be honest; he is taller than Makelele, Scholes and so on. Whilst being the same size as keane, dunn, tugay, fabregas, sidwell and so on.
joey_big_nose Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I like the look of this guy to be honest. It shall be interesting to see him develop at Rovers.
Presty On Tour Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 If we get him, hopefully he should add some much needed steel to the spine of the team. Last season we were over run in central midfield by the opposition on several occasions and it hopefully this fella can fix the problem.
philipl Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Very much hope we sign him. He looks like the combative midfielder wirh an eye for a pass we have not had at Ewood for quite a while now.
tonyoz Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Link posted by someone on the official site board. Haggling about the fee? http://allafrica.com/stories/200808070485.html
CrazyIvan Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...nnan_in_action/ LET says we watch him on Sunday.
krislu Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Dont get too excited because Annan is perhaps a good player in the norwegian tippeliga, but there is no way he will stand out in the premier league, NO WAY.
