CrazyIvan Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 No. I'm also extremely bored with this entire 'Andrews is @#/?', 'No he's not', 'You're a moron' yada yada yada...
broadsword Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I'm also extremely bored with this entire 'Andrews is @#/?', 'No he's not', 'You're a moron' yada yada yada... Bit tedious, innit?
T4E Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I'm also extremely bored with this entire 'Andrews is @#/?', 'No he's not', 'You're a moron' yada yada yada... As am I. Almost as sick as I am of seeing Keith Andrews in a Blackburn Rovers shirt.
broadsword Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 He'll be in an Ireland shirt instead tonite, nice change for ya :-)
sam_rovers Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I hope Andrews does extremely well tonight..scores the winnner... then we can sell him for more money in January!
Plastic Head Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 How does he manage to wander around for the whole game going nowhere near any other player. A skill indeed. Not much pointing tonight either, I think Keane has taken over that role.
stuwilky Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 How does he manage to wander around for the whole game going nowhere near any other player. A skill indeed. Not much pointing tonight either, I think Keane has taken over that role. He's had a good game, again, so far.
Guest Kamy100 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Against that French midfield I thought that Andrews did very well. He showed great energy, broke up play so many times and generally looked very competent, it is was exactly the opposite to the way he plays for Rovers were he looks nervous, gives the ball away and is hardly ever able to break up play/provide defensive cover.
stuwilky Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Credit to KA he played well tonight. I hope you were sat down when you said that wazza!
Backroom Tom Posted November 18, 2009 Backroom Posted November 18, 2009 Very good tonight, up and down the pitch, his passing lets him down at times but his effort is second to none and got some great tackles in. Doubt he'll play at weekend now, not saying if thats a good thing or not
1864roverite Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I hope you were sat down when you said that wazza! We will see with a compare it dot com performance on Sunday
Eddie Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Really did well tonight. Did his job up against two good central midfielders.
Hasta Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Andrews is average. He can have the odd good game. He can have the more regular bad game. The rest of the time he's average. The "he's wonderful / he's dogpoo" debate is people who took a stance on the lad early in the Ince reign and won't back down either way.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Against that French midfield I thought that Andrews did very well. He showed great energy, broke up play so many times and generally looked very competent, it is was exactly the opposite to the way he plays for Rovers were he looks nervous, gives the ball away and is hardly ever able to break up play/provide defensive cover. That's an interesting comment. Generally he plays better for Ireland which could be for a number of reasons: He isn't asked to sit so deep. He doesn't have fans on his back (which explains his nervousness). He has more time on the ball (slower pace in Internationals). I was gutted for him though, you could see how much it meant to him at the end.
RoyRover Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 He played very well tonight. You would be hard pressed to know which midfielder played for Real Madrid and which played for Blackburn after tonight's performance.
grizfoot Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 He didn't actually touch the ball that often but he did do some good pressing and interceptions when without the ball. To say he was directly up against Madrid's Diarra, he made him look very average indeed. We also saw some brand new arm waving movements in his protest against the goal, always nice to know he's being working on some variations in training.
tonyoz Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I'm also extremely bored with this entire 'Andrews is @#/?', 'No he's not', 'You're a moron' yada yada yada... Aye, but we can't leave the thread alone - even when we know what we are going to find here! You've got the addiction too - just accept it. Oh and welcome back Jonnolad, it hasn't been the same without you!
Jonnolad Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 No, no it doesn't. The fact that you're a giant dick remains though. No I don't want to debate the points, people on here have debated the points with you over and over and over again and you have been made to look silly again and again. Lol, unfortunately for you that hasn't happened though has it. Perhaps, in your head, you've convinced yourself that's the case, but that won't make it true. Take a look at Plastic Head's responses - would you call that "making me look silly". If you honestly do then you are in some kind of weird ostrich like denial, and that clearly deserves a big fat followed by another one
yellowsubmarine Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Credit when its due. I thought Andrews played well yesterday. Not outstanding but decent. Some good balls played forward, pressed the opposition well (but too gave away a few freekicks)... overall a 7/10 from him, imo. A few Irish players caught my eye. Sean St Ledger i thought was pretty solid, currently on loan to Boro from PNE? So too was the sub left winger McGready (celtics?). He has some pace and looked a pretty good dribbler/crosser. *hint*
Jonnolad Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 1) Why has Andrews featured, and usually started, in every single competitive game so far for us this season, when there were clearly other options available? A very very good question which the manager should answer. In other words you can't answer that question - good start! The only conclusion is you know more than Allardyce does when it comes to football though. 2) Why wasn't he sold in the summer when Fulham came knocking, instead of being told he categorically wasn't for sale? Another very very good question that the board may be asking the manager soon. Do you think so? What do you think the board will ask; "Sam, why did you keep a player that you've played in every match so far?" 3) Why is he still featuring highly for the ROI, with Trappatoni even not risking him getting a yellow card so he would definitely be available for the play offs, again when there are clearly other options available? Ireland would be relegated from the Championship. Relegated from the Championship eh? A team with the likes of Given, Dunne, O'Shea and Keane, not to mention a whole host of other premier league regulars would be relegated from the championship? A team that held the current world champions, home and away, would be relegated from the championship? 4) Why does every match report, every single week, in every single paper, not notice this apparent poor quality? Take the Arsenal game for example; who was the villain and scored lowest - Andrews surely by a mile? Nope, afraid not, not this week, not in any paper - the funny thing is it's like that every week! Why? If you think football writers know anything about football you're dreaming. They have been picking the England side for 40 years and we have failed at every competition. They are lazy writers who aren't capable of getting a proper writing job and are only interesting in jollies and expense claims. So let's get this straight - every football writer, in every paper, every week don't know anything about football. It makes you wonder why people read them eh! So in conclusion: 1) You know more about football than Sam Allardyce. 2) The board will be asking Sam why he's kept a player that he's played in every game so far. 3) A team consisting mostly of multi-million pound premier league players, who have held their own, home and away, against the current world champions, would be relegated from the championship. 4) Every football writer, in every paper, don't know anything about football. Plastichead, I've got to ask - are you really this stupid or is it just an act Incidentally, tcj_jones is this what you mean when you say I'm made to look silly?
bubblerrovers Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Maybe Andrews plays better for Ireland because the Irish fans get behind him and support him, unlike rovers fans who want him too do badly so they can tell everyone how rubbish he is.
