Andrews is not good enough at this level, to be fair to him there have been plenty of Rovers players who, on this seasons evidence, aren't good enough at this level but at least they have shown they can do it in seasons past, so maybe under the right management they can reproduce old form.

Andrews is a complete passenger in our midfield, he is completely of the pace, with or without the ball, he constantly finds himself in no-man's land neither clsoing down or holding a disciplined postion. Sure Sam has been starting him but this is more to do with a lack of options, evidenced by the fact he has been hauled of at half time several times over the last few weeks.

His partnership with Grella has not had a great start, they don't complement each other whatsoever. Grella is a ball winner he needs to play alongside someone with vision and passing ability to offload it to after winning the ball, alongside Andrews he normally gets the ball straight back, the ball is like a hot potato between the 2 of them.

I will be very dissapointed if Andrews is still playing regulary for us next season, regardless of which league we are in.

It makes absolutely no sense to get on his back.

Incredibly counter productive. Anybody that thinks otherwise is a <INSERT WORD(S)>

I don't condone people who boo the guy, but I'm not going to change my opinion of him.

And that is why he is in a no-win situation.

Play badly, he gets people on his back.

Play well, people don't acknowledge it, deny it or simply refuse to support him.

As far as I know, KA, has never whacked anyone with a golf club, punched a team mate, spat on someone or driven while drunk, so why the constant and disproportionate vitriol?

Cos (and as with Fowler) nobody wanted him in the first place except a very stubborn manager.

Yeah, but he's actually been useful, wouldn't you say?

Fowler was crap, nobody would deny that. But tarring KA with the same brush is harsh, I think he's done better than anybody expected and gave us an extra body in a position we are weak in. Never will be a world beater, but that wasn't why he was bought anyway.

You're not speaking for me, or thousands of others Gazz.

You expected him to do with well, then? You predicted he'd be starting for ROI in World CUp Qualifiers just 6 months after he joined?

Also, who is Gazz?

Oops

You're kidding yourself ADB. Since when did making an appearance for the ROI mean anything - unless you're trying to kid everyone?

Fans get frustrated things like this occur, it is quite understandable in my opinion.

Personally I also think it is totally wrong to boo or jeer anyone in a Rovers shirt trying to win a game for us, however that does not extend to not being allowed to express a negative opinion behind closed doors so to speak on a fans messageboard.

Lets face it KA is one of several poor performers this season, in his defense he probably has the best excuse as opposed to some of his colleagues on much more lucrative contracts and with more substantial pedigree, extreme negative points of view perhaps bring out over the top defences but I think it would be wholey inacurate to describe KA performances this season as anything other than sub premiership standard.

I may have said he was a useful squad player at times.

You are desperate to discredit the lad, and I'll not argue the point any longer. You carry on as you are and I'll keep supporting Rover's players. :)

Didn't you say he'd done better than anyone expected? Seriously, I reckon he might do a job as a squad player in league one - at a push. I watched Leeds and Millwall earlier this week on TV, and IMO he wouldn't have outshone the midfielders on view there. Still, mustn't have a viewpoint that isn't through coloured specs. :P

Andrews is a good player to have in the squad, he is not the greatest but i have seem a damb lot worser players play for rovers before.

If we had Dunn, Reid, Vogel (back in favour) and a younger Tugay, he would not be in the starting 11. But at this moment of time we need him and every time he puts on that blue and white shirt i will support and encourage him all the way.

The irony.

Nobody is truly unbiased, but in my personal experience most fans of opposing clubs have rated him as an average if unspectacular squad member. They must all be tinted too, eh? I'm only saying what I personally feel, if you don't agree, that's fine.

You've just got to accept the fact that some people have different opinions Den. The sooner you do, the more enjoyment you'll have in life. Go away from the computer for a while and relax a little.

Oh and in the Leeds and Millwall game was a centre half called Whitbread - who, according to sources close to this site, was in line as the next biggie to leave the shores of the first division and make it with Rovers in the Prem. ;)

den whats that got to do with andrews, if he was a so bad of player what u are making him out to be i am sure sam would not be playing him now!!! I would rather have Dunn, Reid or the back in favour vogel ahead of him in the team, but sam sadly does not have these players at the moment.

I think that is a very fair comment. He is trying hard. He is improving. He has worn the blue and white shirt enough times to make him one of us. He has been required to do too much too soon.

Anyone who gives a hard time to Andrews should be giving all hell to Santa Cruz.

eddie

for one who regularly contributes some logical input you cannot be serious about KA and RSC and a comparison.

RSC does more in one single run that Andrews contributes in a Rovers shirt.

I have watched the first half the Ireland game and, being a fan who doesnt rate KA one single bit I have to say that his 45 minutes in the green shirt has been impressive and totally different when comparing him wearing a blue and white shirt. He has passed the ball forwards many many times, far more than we ever see in a Rovers shirt. He has passed but still a big portion of the game passes him by. He should be on the score sheet as his goal was good.

Having said all of that I have worked out by watching him on tv what his downfall is.

It is very simple, and you can watch him in the second half. He gets drawn to the ball far too easily.

When attacking, he crowds out the attacking player and gets in the way.

When defending he never tracks a players run, he draws near to the ball. The result ? He leaves a big gaping hole in he play and a player free to run wherever they like.

Its as simple as that. Tune in and watch.

Sam is picking him as he has no fit alternatives, nothing to do with the quality of the player, equally if Sam rated him why does he always haul him off at the first oppurtunity?
