Ninjathunder Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I've not said anything on here so far about Andrews and I know he has limited ability but at least he tries......but.........today he was abysmal when he came on. Everything he did was awful. However, I can't blame Sam for bringing him on when we have no other options available, but we must strengthen in the summer if we stay up. If we go down, sadly he'll be our star player
JAL Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I think the clinching argument on Keith Andrews and one which scares me about our current predicament is that I cannot think of a single Rovers team since 1992 (including the 1999-2001 period) in which Andrews would get picked. Come to think of it, he wouldn't have got into many Rovers sides in the '80s either. Got to ask you the question philipl, what is the total cost of ALL of Inces signings, why, I ask because NONE of them are good enough and ALL need replacing how much will that cost the club ?
thenodrog Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 What's the point? I'm no expert at football, Ahh.... That explains much. You and Trappatoni's twin brother know diddly squat about footy!
John Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Just in case anyone forgets, Trapattoni rates him - makes everything seem much better.....
thenodrog Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Just in case anyone forgets, Trapattoni rates him - makes everything seem much better..... Keith Andrews would not get in Coventry's midfield from what I saw yesterday.
1864roverite Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Keith Andrews wouldnt have got in my lads pub team this morning for a kick around on St Mary's all weather pitch never mind a Championship midfield
Balwer Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I've defended him several times as being a decent bench player, but his last 2-3 performances have been woeful. He looks completely devoid of confidence, perhaps he's heard Plastic Head's abuse from the stands? Sadly Tugs has dropped off since Christmas as well, so the cupboard is very bare in the middle. As I've said all along, Dunn and Grella have to be the pairing. Stop playing Dunn on the wing!
Plastic Head Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I've defended him several times as being a decent bench player, but his last 2-3 performances have been woeful. He looks completely devoid of confidence, perhaps he's heard Plastic Head's abuse from the stands? He certainly did yesterday!
Guest Kamy100 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Sam: Andrews Key Figure In Battle For Survival
JC4LAB Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Defensively not to be bad and less injury prone than Dunny but when he ventures over the half way line...... some goals and all would be forgiven..
Hughesy Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 At least Andrews can stay fit - unlike Gorilla and Dunn. They are pathetic!! Just hope Andrews can step it up a notch or two and start to bag a few more goals too.
Rover4ever Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 If it werent for his 2 goals against Hull and WBA, we would be bottom today few points from safety.....
Paul Mellelieu Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Sam: Andrews Key Figure In Battle For Survival Roughly translated that means, "I've no-one else fit ."
Tris Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Roughly translated that means, "I've no-one else fit ." Allardyce said he was surprised so many people had been keen to write the midfielder off. "I don't know why - perhaps because he came from MK Dons rather than from Lazio I suppose" Allardyce said ahead of Wednesday night's crucial league trip to Fulham. "It doesn't matter where you come from, if you're good enough and talented enough you can play. I think he's had a first season that has perhaps been a lot better than he imagined - he's been involved a lot more and he's learning every week. "He knows he still has a lot to learn but he's got the enthusiasm and the drive and the desire to help get us out of this position and with goals at the end of that, that's really what you're looking for."
T4E Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I don't have any problem with where he came from, it just worries me how anonymous he can be. You can go a good 20-30 minutes in a game without seeing him at all or hearing his name mentioned. That said, he's scored a couple of vital goals this season. We do need better, but I don't mind him being in the squad.
thenodrog Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Sam's rightly boosting his confidence. The lads no Prem player but we need him to give his all.
LeChuck Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Probably no coincidence this came out a few days after learning Grella and Dunn are injured again...
gumboots Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Of course it's not coincidence. It's psychology or good man management or whatever you want to call it.
riverside returns Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Andrews is no star player, he does tend to get a little lost during games but his efforts are improving. He does appear to work well with Warnock and we really have no choice. If he can look to select the correct ball more often then it would compliment his improved ball retention. Give the lad some slack. He is a Rover and all we have at this time! Come on you blues!!!
Shabani Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 From tonights ireland match Midfielder Keith Andrews had a scare with 16 minutes gone when Zhivko Milanov went to ground under his challenge inside the penalty area, but Croatian referee Ivan Bebek booked the full-back for diving as he was carried off on a stretcher. sound pretty funny, lol
sambo Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 It was a dive, he was down before there was contact. Fell arkwardly.
Mc Love Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Commentators kept giving out about midfield, given his limited ability, i think he did alright
gumboots Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Commentators kept giving out about midfield, given his limited ability, i think he did alright That cross at the end under the challenge from the defender was very good. Pity Doyle didn't put it in since he's a good header of the ball. Actually thought that andrews played pretty well. Just that the Bulgarian midfield played well too. There were some touches form Andrews that were very good indeed. He made one or two crucial tackles too. He's not as bad as he's made out to be. Star material no, but nor is he totally out of place at this leel.
riverside returns Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I would repeat an earlier suggestion I made that when we get to the end of the season we will be in a position to make a healthy profit on Andrews who may well be better suited to the championship. He is now an established Premier League player and is also an established international with a reasonably succesful side. Sure we can pull a couple of mill for him now.
