Exiled in Toronto Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 EHD is no more effective than Emerton or MGP - another 'winger' who can't dribble, beat a man, cross or take a corner. I think we all expected more than one scuffed goal in 11 games - and Benni was right behind him to put that one in anyway.

thenodrog Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 you are one very sad individual eh? wtf's sad about that? It's err attempted humour Paul. You should try it sometime. Everybody will know that its alien to you of course but never mind eh? Must say though it's quite a statement coming from the life and soul of the board! Every time you post Paul you remind me of Marvin the Paranoid android.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Theno, no offence but this is the Andrews thread, not the Theno thread. Can you take it to PMs because I doubt anybody else really cares?
modes98 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 You've got Robinho. We've got Kieth Andrews! He gets my vote for player of the season
Amo Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Portsmouth are preparing a move for our Keith, according to The Sunday People.
67splitscreen Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 KA has been fundamental in our survival, he's certainly no worldie and for 750k he's done a fine job. In MF or at FB he gives his all, can't ask for more from the lad. He gets a big thank you from me.

Backroom Tom Posted May 11, 2009 Backroom Posted May 11, 2009 KA has been fundamental in our survival, he's certainly no worldie and for 750k he's done a fine job. In MF or at FB he gives his all, can't ask for more from the lad. He gets a big thank you from me. Agreed, his contributions this season are all too easily overlooked. Without him our status would look a lot bleaker right now, gives his all for the club as well. I hope we keep him as an option from the bench. When he has a good game it's mentioned as a footnote yet when he makes a mistake it's big news for some. Keep it up Keith.
Brownie Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 He had an excellent game, out of position. I wouldn't let him go for anything under £2 million. Will be an excellent squad member next season.

gumboots Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Excellent a bit strong. He had a good game and will do a decent job for us next season, if he is still here. Surely every squad needs a player like this who just comes on and generally does what the maanger asks without fuss or complaint. I don't think I want to see him playing every week next season but he hasn't been injured nor has he looked totally out of his depth in our team. Now I know we've been scrambling for points at the wrong end of the table and that may be why he hasn't stood out as being worse than most of what we've got but I wouldn't personally want to see us sell him to anyone as he is reliable for the most part and stays fit and can do a job at this level.
American Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 He should play 5-10 matches in all competitions next season, if he stays (and I say that as a fan of his). If we can make a profit, thanks for the memories, Keith.
bazza Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 If I were Keith Andrews, and had read all this thread, I would be longing to join Pompey; just to get away from the gang of "Andrews haters" who post on here and who must be representative of the wider Rovers following. If a player gives his all for a club and is derided day in and day out by the so-called "fans" of that club.....................I'm lost for words! Too many of you are slagging off too many Rovers players. It makes me sick. And I'm amazed that it includes some of the more respected posters on this site; admin and mods people. I know that everyone is entitled to air their view, but the constant slagging off of one player makes me feel sick. Going off now to have a good vomit.
roversmum Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Bazza is right. There has always been a scapegoat or two, for several seasons it was Emerton, now it is Morten and Andrews. I appreciate the reasons for the criticism of Morten, for we know what he can be capable of, but the stuff that is being shouted at him and said about him is way out of order, he needs us behind him. Andrews has hardly been given a chance, and yet he has chipped in some critical goals, and, like Morten, and indeed Bert, never gives anything other that 100 per cent. They are all decent guys, they all want to do their best for Rovers, we need to get behind them.
Roaming Rover Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 It's good to see Keith finally getting some credit on here. OK he isn't the greatest player in the world but always gives 100% and seems to care as much as todays pro footballer can. I have almost been lynched in the JW upper for daring to clap Andrews when he does something well or comes on as sub. As has already been mentioned, there is one numpty who everytime Andrews does a pass which goes astray, he goes mental. Yet I remember Warnock did a shocker and he said nothing. Typical!!! What we need to remember is that although not the greatest players, for a club like ours we need players like Andrews as good squad players. As has been said where would we be without some of our squad players this season Clean slate for ALL players next season please people

If he is happy to play sparingly in the Prem on Championship money with an annual review then that would be fine by me. But if he is on Prem money and we want to improve the squad then we need to replace him. Simple as that when you view the situation in black and white and get rid of the distracting shades in between. ........... btw Women can't do that, with one exception.... and she became PM.

thenodrog Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Isn't it review, Gordon? A revue is what they used to do at the Windmill theatre. quite right miss. I'm writing it out 100 times as we speak.
den Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 We're getting back to the "don't say anything bad about anyone at Blackburn Rovers" thing again, just as it was with Ince. Andrews did OK against a poor Portsmouth side, but to be honest, I will be disappointed if he's anywhere near our first team next season. We have to aim higher, or we'll struggle again.

I don't see how anyone can argue with this. He's not good enough for a top half Premier League team, which is what we want to be. If he takes his place on a 7 man bench, so be it.
roversmum Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I'm not putting it quite like that, Den. Sometimes, players do need a bit of pushing. But to constantly berate and swear at them is not constructive. Many a time a player that I would rather was somewhere else is in the squad and like most others I do a bit of groaning when a pass goes astray, it's just the constant moan, moan, moan about this one or that one who nine times out of ten is doing his best for the cause that grates on me a bit. Sam, at the moment, can only work with what we have.

It was even worse than that on Saturday. Warnock misplaced two passes in quick succession and his name was chanted. I'm all for giving the team support but just imagine what the reaction would have been if it had been Pedersen or Andrews.

I think that even his supporters don't expect or want him to be playing as often as he does. He was brought in to be a squad player, but unfortunately, none of our midfielders can stay healthy. I think what he has shown versatility wise at being able to fill in at right back has been a bonus, and increases his worth as a sub.
