tcj_jones Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 It might sound silly, but I can't figure out how to put a person on ignore - can somebody tell me? In five and a half years it's not something I've felt necessary before.

In five and a half years it's not something I've felt necessary before. Click on their name, click on "view member profile", click on "options" [down the LH side], then click "ignore". [That's just in case no-one else is reading your posts.]
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Mods, is there a way we can put a topic on ignore? Why don't you just not click on the thread title? Seems sensible to me.
den Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Why don't you just not click on the thread title? Seems sensible to me. Yeah, but when I see your name posting ADB...............
tcj_jones Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 [That's just in case no-one else is reading your posts.] Unless I'm interpreting you wrong then I now feel silly because I never realised that you had an issue with me before.
den Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Unless I'm interpreting you wrong then I now feel silly because I never realised that you had an issue with me before. I'm jesting tcj. I have no issues with anyone on this board.

den Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Ah good, I'm glad to hear that. I was suggesting that maybe everyone else had you on ignore, so I'd better tell you how to use the facility Only joking.

Steve Moss Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Andrews is a decent squad man - he stays fit and tries hard. He has limited ability and therefore £3m or more and he should be sold and replaced. Wisdom.
Iceman Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 No, he's not, but what's the point of selling him unless we sign a better player to replace him. if we buy worse then the debate about whether player Q or whatever we call him is good enough for rovers starts again. Unless we need the money to add to what we have and buy significantly better then selling makes no kind of sense. Agree Mrs G. If Andrews tries hard, stays fit and we should sell him then what about some of the other players? Dunn and Reid also tries hard, but are almost never fit. Pedersen has a nice long throw, but what has he offered lately besides that. Should he be sold as well. I dont have a problem with Andrews. The fact that Sam keeps on picking him, is because he doesnt have much options with Dunn and Reid always on the injury list. Add the fact that no youngster or reserve team player, wants to prove their worth. Nobody else is stepping up to the plate, to say and prove to Sam 'im better than Andrews'. Thats the sad reality of the poor quality of this squad, that despite Andrews not having the ability, he can still get picked ahead of players with more ability than him.
Ronin Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 According to this site, Andrews' market value is just over £2m http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/verein/1...startseite.html Probably not spot on but just interesting to compare with the rest of the squad.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 That site has Pedersen being our most valued player at 7.7m. Apart from the fact that Samba is worth double whatever Pedersen would go for, nobody would pay nearly 8m for Gamst.
bazza Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Time is running out. Before the season gets going PLEASE let's have a poll on KA and whether or not people think he should play for us next season. The last option would probably be "Play Grooby instead"
joey_big_nose Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Time is running out. Before the season gets going PLEASE let's have a poll on KA and whether or not people think he should play for us next season. The last option would probably be "Play Grooby instead" Oooh. Seconded. Options should be: Make the man captain, for God's sake He should start He should be a regular on the bench He should be in the squad Woy, I'll just get the car started.... Sell him to the glue factory if needs be Encase him in glass and give him to grooby as a commemorative paperweight
tcj_jones Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I propose a FM style system with five options to vote on: Key player Important first team Squad rotation Back up Not good enough I expect one or two jokers to put him as a key player, a few more - but slightly less fanatical - as an important first teamer, and then the 95% of remaining votes distributed amongst the latter three. From everything I've read on here over the months, I'd expect a distribution of: Key Player - JonnoLad Important first teamer - 5% Squad rotation - 45% Back up - 35% Not good enough - 15% I'd put myself in the final option though because, if you're deemed good enough to only be a back up, then you're not really good enough to start in the Premier League and should probably be sold.

mark1875 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Somebody has told me that keith is our new vice captain? is this someone pulling my leg or fact?
thenodrog Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 This is a daft thread. Some (not many )see Andrews as the new Zidane whilst others see him as a hate figure to be derided at every opportunity. Truth is that last season with a fully fit squad he would not be on the pitch, but at times last season we were damned grateful for his contributions. As as a lower squad member he's just about OK. If I don't see him starting a match or if somebody else wants to buy him I won't be overly bothered either way but until then we need to lay off him. Confidence is half the battle for most footballers and some of the comments on here are shameful to a lad who whilst not the most naturally talented does at least turn up and put in a full shift when required ..... unlike some of his more 'respected' team members. I don't think that there is much more to be said than has not already been said.
Hughesy Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Somebody has told me that keith is our new vice captain? is this someone pulling my leg or fact? Would that mean he is replacing Dunny as 2nd choice?! I think it was Nelsen, Dunn, Warnock last season wasnt it?!
Jonnolad Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Key Player - JonnoLad Important first teamer - 5% Squad rotation - 45% Back up - 35% Not good enough - 15% Lol, you clearly haven't read any of my posts at all I've always said Andrews is a squad player - read through my posts and take a look if you don't believe me (although you have me on ignore of course "la, la, la, I am not listening, I am not listening" ) It would be interesting to see how Sam Allardyce would rate him though, as, whatever your thoughts on the players ability, 27 Premier League starts meant he was actually an important first teamer for us last season. This is a daft thread. Some (not many )see Andrews as the new Zidane Who are these people who see him as the new Zidane??? Can you name one person on this thread who has said that Andrews is anything better than a decent squad player?
philipl Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 The news that Fulham are snapping up Greening from WBA for £2.5m probably kills the thoughts of Andrews going there. I certainly would have taken Greening as an Andrews replacement.
tcj_jones Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I'm surprised that Fulham are looking at the likes of Greening and Andrews. Don't get me wrong, I quite like Greening but I thought they might be setting their sights a bit higher now that they're in Europe. I suppose they do need to increase the overall size of their squad though if they're going to be challenging on four fronts next season.
ffan Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Greening would have been back up to Murphy, Andrews would have been back up to Dickson. Any potential move for Greening wouldn't effect any potential move, if there ever was one, for Andrews.
