Would it be too much to ask exactly how I've "lost the debate" there Jim? I'm guessing it would. Just like it was too much for you to explain the glaring disparity in your extremely low opinion of Keith Andrews and Sam Allardyce's high opinion of him (and Giovanni Trappatoni's and Roy Hodgson's of course, as well as the stats / reports etc). It seems you are using a definition of "lost" I've not come across before.

Let's be honest though, this has been a fascinating debating style of yours on this thread for some time now; you claim I'm wrong but with no actual explanation to back up - in other words you say I'm wrong but you can't actually say why. Now you're saying I've lost, and again I'm guessing you can't actually say why either. It's a novel approach to debating I'll give you that - do you think it will catch on anywhere other than playgrounds though?

Unfortunately I think most people would agree that a general "read through the thread" is a very very poor justification for your claim that I'd "lost the debate".

I'm not obsessed with Andrews. It's just that I don't mind speaking up for people, especially our own players, who I think are being unjustly prejudiced, even if that goes against the majority (from a psychological perspective why not have a think about our differing positions on this one and see what it says about our respective personalities).

By simply watching Andrews is damming evidence. The guy runs around alot but has no quality whatsoever on the ball or infact any defencive quality to boot. ANY run of the mill rola cola player would match the performances what Andrews puts in.

Do i hate the guy? Ofc not, fair play to him for grasping at his oppotunity. What i do hate is seeing him start for rovers, he is a total waste of space on the pitch and gives any opposing team an advantage before they have kicked a ball.

Not for the first time you've missed the point. Scapegoats are only used in time of trouble, those clubs are currently enjoying good times. Though that lad at Liverpool who's being playing centre mid had been made the scape goat recently (his name escapes me).

And incidentally, the scapegoat is usually one of the reasons the trouble is had, if we didn't have Andrews but a better player in his place, our league position would improve by 5 places immediately.

Sky Sports match report. States that Keith Andrews was 'tigerish' in midfield. In the few minutes (first half) I watched of this game I saw Elrio play very well and KA get involved in everything both good and bad for Ireland. He wasn't anonymous, he was probably the most 'in-the-game' of all the Ireland players but they were pretty poor first half.

To be honest Johnno you're doing more harm than good for the pro Keith camp, it's become more about you and others arguing wih you with childishness on both sides.

From what I have read he played poorly against Cyprus, and well against South Africa. I'm more interested in hearing about how EVH did, if anyone here actually watched the game.
