T4E Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 your continued childish "are you his mum" line As opposed to "I shagged your mum". But no, you haven't lost the debate at all.

den Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 To be honest Johnno you're doing more harm than good for the pro Keith camp, it's become more about you and others arguing wih you with childishness on both sides. From what I have read he played poorly against Cyprus, and well against South Africa. I'm more interested in hearing about how EVH did, if anyone here actually watched the game. EVH did quite well against SA. He played infield, rather than out wide and his movement and passing was good. I don't remember him particularly taking a man on, or showing his reputed pace. I was a bit surprised when he was taken off. To be honest SA were by far the better team, in the first half at least. Far more possession than Ireland who were so poor it was unbelievable. SA's problem was that they simply didn't have a goal threat. Andrews did absolutely sod all apart from watch the Africans pass the ball around him, - nor did any of the Irish midfield. I didn't see as much of the second half as I was watching another poor performance, switching between KA and Andy Murray.
AggyBlue Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Thought so. You can't actually say why I've lost the debate Superb You've lost the debate because more people still think he's @#/? than those that think he's good. You haven't (to my knowledge anyway) changed anyones opinion of him. Mods, can we have a vote on whether this poster should be banned?
sloth_frattelli Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Or a poll on whether this particular crop of Rovers fans like/dislike this certain Rovers player...?
Iceman Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Elrio did superbly in central midfield, and switching between right wing and just behind the strikers. He was playing well alongside Pienaar, and didnt need to use much of his pace as Ireland were pretty poor. As somebody pointed out, we created chances, had plenty of possession, but we had no strikers. Evidence last night of why we sold Mokoena. Our best striker( dare i say it) is Benni, and our best defender Nasief Morris were left out. Andrews was hardly tigerish, he was ripped apart by Elrio and Pienaar.

I don't think there's grounds for banning him, but it would be a great facility if we could have the option to ignore certain topics. I find the allure of people arguing about Keith impossible to ignore.
Steve Moss Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 KA is not the EPLs best player, but he is far from the worst. And his major advantage over our other midfielders is that he stays fit. BS knows that if push comes to shove, KA is available to play unlike many of our stars. To draw an analogy (probably a bad one), KA may be the Ford Focus of the BRFC, but at least he runs day in and day out, unlike the Jags, Mercedes, etc., of our team who seem to be constantly in the shop.
tashor Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Mods, can we have a vote on whether this poster should be banned? Siouxsie Sioux had a song for you Jonnolad.................... On lead poisoned wings, you try to sing Freak beak shrieks are thrown at your confusing hue The peacock screaming - eyes show no mercy, no mercy Painted bird - it's absurd Just a tainted bird hurting their twisted nerve The flock will make you choke on this sadistic joke And the whippoorwills - they make a din In laughing unison you're hitchcock carrion Carry on Painted bird - it's absurd Just a tainted bird hurting their twisted nerve I hear your sorrow, maybe tomorrow You'll lose your sorrow When a fated weather will cleanse away That painted feather and all that sorrow A coquette in fur purr for the painted bird Confound that dowdy flock with a sharp honed nerve Because we're painted birds by our own design By our own design there's no more sorrow Have you heard about the painted bird? Just a tainted bird hunting their twisted nerve We've lost our sorrow - now it's tomorrow No need to hide your feather under a fated weather No more sorrow... Now we're painted birds mocking that twisted nerve
MeanGreenMachine Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Ah right staying fit and running around alot make you a premiership midfielder? Id rather stick one of the kids from the youth team out there, at least they have the potential to improve and will run there heart out. Heck they might have the ability to pass the ball which would be a novelty. I feel sorry for Nzonzi in all of this, the guy has fantastic potential but is being held back by having to partner this incompetant oaf.

You've hit the nail on the head with your second sentence though. Between that and TimmyJimmy's post a page or two back, you have to wonder why Jonno is still trying.
tcj_jones Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I don't think there's grounds for banning him I'm pretty sure Vinjay was banned for less. The only reason he hasn't been is because he is standing up for a player, as opposed to criticising him. If anybody on the board were so persistent in their criticism of Andrews as Jonnolad is in defending him, then they'd be banned. Saying that, I'm actually starting to find him pretty funny. I don't actually take anything he says seriously and actually find it rather amusing now. I also feel a bit sorry for him, because he must be absolutely barmy!
broadsword Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Using the Jonnolad mind-set ... having played under Kevin Keegan, Roy Hodgson and Graeme Souness (who clearly all rated him), in the Premiership (thereby automatically making him a "Premiership class" player) Darren Peacock was a quality player. Do we all not agree on that point?

Do we all not agree on that point? OMFG, I had forgotten about him! He was nearly as class an act as Christian "Don't worry lads I'll make the game REALLY interesting" Dailly Can't we just all list all the @#/? players we've had and have a laugh that way instead of all the previous I'll raise your Peacock with a Duncan Shearer or a Grabbi...??

thenodrog Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Footballers have massive ego's but they do know their profession and if KA continues to be played in front of better players sooner or later those players will become ticked off. Similarly if results don't change soon whisperings will start within the rest of the squad which can quickly damage team spirit.
CrazyIvan Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 3 who have progressed - and top of the list?

Montfort Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 No, I'm Keith Andrews... I'm Keith Andrews
jim mk2 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Can't we just all list all the @#/? players we've had and have a laugh that way.?? It's been done before but off the top of my head I can recall in the past 40 years or so Frank Large, Paul McKinnon, Steve Round, Richard Brown along with the more recent examples such as Grabbi, Donis, Valery and Per Pedersen as being players who have disgraced the famous blue and while halves. All of them were poor and incurred the wrath of Rovers supporters but none more so than the inept Andrews. Cue autistic poster coming to the defence of his relation / client.
S15 Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Patrick Valery is the finest fullback ever invented. The PL wasn't ready for him.
