[Archived] Keith Andrews - Rovers Newest Signing

Recommended Posts

Are you genuinely suggesting that some people don't rate Keith Andrews because some established posters on here don't and you (a relatively new poster) do?

No that's not what I put. Have a re-read of my post, come back to me and I'll tell you if you're right that time

I'll be honest though either way I'm not particularly arsed if you agree with me or not, so you are going to be wasting your time if you think I'm going to enter into some debate with you over it.

If you really want to get into a debate about it, why don't you ask Blueandwhitemike what he meant when he said I was doing more harm than good for the pro Andrewscamp. Seems fair enough to me.

He meant you're making the pro Andrews camp look like a set of cretins, single handedly. Now please answer my questions.

Hard to accept you're wrong eh ? Suppose that happens when you're ill.

For your information these are just some of the symptoms of autism :

  • Tends to be a loner, like to be in their own little world
  • Difficulties in structuring words into sentences
  • Constantly repeating words or phrases
  • Fascinated easily by a particular object (eg, poor footballers)
Recognise any of these traits ?

I sense anger behind your keyboard I do ;)

Trust me on this one Jim, you are very seriously mistaken if you think you are anywhere near the truth with your fascinating appraisal of my personality. But seriously whatever makes you happy - go wild :D

161 posts on the subject already suggests that you are in a debate about it.

But what do you think of these questions? He's not asking about Sam Allardyce's opinion!

Crikey, it's like a tag team, except everyone's jumped in the ring at the same time. It's like my mate's fat missus on a weighing machine - "one at a time please"!

I'm guessing if I said I thought that Keith had a decent pass on him though, you / him / whoever would say that was ludicrous and so on and so forth. Can we not therefore have someone who could decide who's right, kind of like a judge? And who's better qualified than our very own manager Sam Allardyce

Whatever, honestly B)

It also suggests he's "arsed".

Ditto

Silly emoticons - last resort of those unable to express themselves properly.

You don't like being wrong do you ?

Truly staggering this thread, it really is.

I think darren Peacock was a really poor footballer, but he was regularly picked in the Premiership by Roy Hodgson and Kevin Keegan. both of whom presumably know more about football than me.

I'd be interested to hear what jonnolad thinks, am I in the wrong on this one and Darren was in fact a "Premiership class" defender, and not a poor player because Roy and Kevin regularly picked him to start?

I can imagine you being a real pub bore. Do you find people tend to make their excuses and leave when you enter the room?

Over 160 posts, all pretty much a variation on a theme and all sticking up for Keith Andrews.

To sustain an argument to that degree over something such as a never-was professional footballer, to be singularly obsessive. It certainly is a strange personality trait.

It's called autism.

Attention-seeking is another symptom.

And denial of it.

Deary me. If you check back through this thread on several occasions I've said I don't mind Keith Andrews, he seems like a decent bloke, and though he's a limited player he isn't as bad as people are saying he is. I'm hardly going to criticise your opinion on his attributes. IT'S AN OPINION.

I would genuinely be interested in your answer to shilitoe's questions. After all this is just a mb to discuss opinions. Here, to start off, I'll go first:

Is Andrews a good passer? Not bad. Think his passing is underrated and gives the ball away no more or less than anyone else.

Is Andrews a good tackler? No.

Is Andrews a good dribbler? No.

Is Andrews good in the air? No.

Is Andrews a good goalscorer? Pretty decent for a midfielder yes.

Is Andrews a good play maker? No.

Is Andrews a good set piece player? No.

Your turn.

Have you got some experience working with people who have autism as you are not silly enough to think you can make a diagnosis based on what someone writes on a message board.

Agreed with Theno, attacks are becoming very personal and there is no need for it IMO.

Jonnolad, keep up the good fight ... you clearly have Rovers best interests at heart. I find it staggering that so many so called fans would actually boo somebody who clearly gives his all for our team ... how the hell is that going to help anybody. And just for the record Sam DOES rate him ... and said as much at the 'Audience with Sam' event at Ewood.

Was the question ''Do you rate that shithead who plays centre mid for us?''

Can't recall many people saying they'd boo him?

This thread is like bees to a honeypot! I used to enjoy putting in my twopennyworth in support of "Our Keith" but the fun has gone out of it. It seems that if you can't persuade the other party to accept your point of view, resort to personal insults.

Theno accusing somebody of being 'increasingly nasty' and calling for censoring - now I've seen it all!

Quite so. Amused me too.

Must say I'm looking to the Wolves match and giving the lamentable Andrews (assuming he is playing) another good rollicking.

And for the record, criticising one of our own players does not make me any less of a Rovers fan and just because Andrews is in the team does not mean I also support the manager and think he is doing a good job.

Some people seem unable to get their tiny minds around that one.

Critcising a Rovers player while he is on the pitch whether by booing jeering or as has just been said "giving another good rollicking" is a very strange way to act as a "Rovers fan". Deriding a player from the terraces is counter productive, it's not going to help him in any way but may certainly put him off his game even more and just how is that supporting the team. Sam chooses to play him and he gives 100% and I know some will say he's not good enough but he's not alone in the team and he's not the worst.Remember we don't have the money to buy the "good" players.

Agreed. What is the point of booing a player that is a decent bloke and has been picked to play in the team and is giving his best? It's not his fault he's been picked, don't blame him, he's wearing the blue and white and he deserves full support. Anything less is deriding the club itself and letting it down.
