RibbleValleyRover Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Going to be interesting to see what happens with Keith when the likes of Reidy, Emerton, Grella and to an extent Dunny are fully fit. I suspect he will play a bench role and come on when needed in case of injuries or if Sam wants to change it. I was pretty vocal when he came, thought he would be a bad signing but overall he has impressed me a bit (though my expectations were pretty low of him so maybe that's no surprise). The guy obviously has his faults but he works hard, gives 100% and seems to be fit every week. Not all his performances have been shocking, contrary to some people's beliefs.

GiddyGoat Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 .... when the likes of Reidy, Emerton, Grella and to an extent Dunny are fully fit.... I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that to happen
philipl Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Oh no, not Jonnolad AND Spencey! Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, it does! I think we are overdue an AESF exposee on Keith...
Ricky Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Right, everyone's got their opinions on Keef, and here's mine. Quite simply he was bought in as a squad player, a bcak up player as cover for injuries and suspensions. Unfortunately as we have had so many injries he's ended up playing a lot more games than first envisiged. He gets up and down the park, stays fit and can score the odd goal. Unfortunately he's not got the range of passing and the quick mind to be a top player in the Prem, it takes more than being able to run around to be a top player. He's done a job for us and should continue to be a squad man, mainly cup runs and covering injuries, he should not be anywhere near the starting line up when all our midfield options are fit. I see him below Dunn, Grella, Bert, and N Zonzi as a first teamer.

Some peoples antagonism towards him is quite pointless and to boo him just because you can and he's there is childish playground behaviour. I'm honestly getting heartily sick of the constant insulting posts towards a few individuals from a number who have nothing better to say. This thread (and the Wolves preview) has degenerated into a constant barrage of insults and childish snipes. Grow up or go away.

47er Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I agree wholeheartedly. That quote came from Allardyce - not from me. This must be an incredibly confusing situation for the Allardyce brigade... Keith Andrews is terrible, but is apparently one of the first names on the team sheet! Come off it. Andrews is continually picked because Grella,Dunn Emerton and Reid have had an horrendous run with injuries. No other reason. The guy does his best, should never be booed but should never have been signed.
OJRovers Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 All the pro-Andrews posters better start thinking of their next argument now Dunn/Grella/Emerton are getting back to fitness. It will become clear soon that Sam is only picking him because he has no option.

It will become clear soon that Sam is only picking him because he has no option. And just how long do you realistically think any of those players will stay fit?

We should be encouraging him, not tearing him down, as we wait for the days were our 'better' midfielders are available on a consistent basis.

That's not the point though, because Jonno should be along shortly, if he's consistent, to tell you that you're wrong. He will tell you that you must be wrong because Trapp picks him and Allardyce picks him. Not only do those two pick him, they play him before other squad members even when those other squad members are fit. So you're wrong Ricky [in Jonno's eyes]. What do you say to that?
Tris Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 So you're wrong Ricky [in Robbo's eyes]. What do you say to that? So jonnolad is actually Paul Robinson? How confusing!
67splitscreen Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Would his user name then not be shipal(o)ad.
den Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 So jonnolad is actually Paul Robinson? How confusing! You'll go like that eventually. Changed it!
Guest charlie1 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I can't believe there are over 100 pages about Andrews. He is bloody crap end of subject.
philipl Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Well that was a short and sweet charlie! In all senses.
thenodrog Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I would have sent a PM to let you know about this, but I'm not deemed worthy of using the facility. So I have to annoy people by posting responses in the wrong thread. Apologies.] Can a member be banned from using the pm facility? If so I can only assume that you were misusing it. Is that the case?
Ricky Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 He was banned for sending abusive messages, he won't be getting the pm facility back.
spencey7 Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 He was banned for sending abusive messages, he won't be getting the pm facility back. Any more abusive than what I was recieving? Or what Scotty was posting on the message boards that saw him "banned" for all of a fortnight?
Ricky Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I'm not going to get into an argument with you on this thread. Feel free to pm me if you have any concerns otherwise I shall assume that everything is good ;-)

Feel free to pm me if you have any concerns otherwise I shall assume that everything is good ;-) Never gets old. Why don't you look into what I said? How long was Scotty "banned" for? By virtue of denying my PM rights moderators have led to the derailment of a great many threads. Seems a little counter-productive.

Feel free to pm me if you have any concerns otherwise I shall assume that everything is good ;-) Any chance of you or another mod cleaning up this thread of the last few pages of insults between various members, especially this 'Autistic' nonsense? I find calling a member autistic without knowing anything about their personal life or circumstances rather disgraceful. Not sure what relevancy it has to the subject of Keith Andrews.
Mr. E Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 heh, I just realized Keith Andrews may be going to the World cup while Ronaldo and/or Messi possibly miss out.

We'd better all hope that Sam continues to pick him or there'll be b*gger all else to talk about on here! heh, I just realized Keith Andrews may be going to the World cup while Ronaldo and/or Messi possibly miss out. Now that really has made me smile.
Ewood Spark Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 The anti-Andrews mob look just that little bit sillier after today.
