Just to mention that we are in the Carling Cup draw tonight which I assume will be live on sky sports (anyone confirm?) after the final first round games.

Might not be the greatest thing if we end up with a championship side who are four games into their season and much sharper and were struggling after our first two. On the other hand, a nice drubbing of Burnley would do everyone the world of good!

They lucked out - It had to be a decision between Spurs and City as to who got the bye, as the number was odd thanks to the fair play place - I think it was decided on league position.

Haven't they also changed the format this year, no replays so the game has to be settled there and then?

We have a pretty good record in this competition in recent years, hope we get a decent draw.

I dont think so, well not in a way you said if it has. The league cup has always been decided on the night, until the semi final (eg Shef Wed, Man Utd).

Ah my mistake. I was sure on the radio the other night they said something has changed this year, must of been talking about something else.

A run to the quarter finals, semis or final would be nice.

City got in via the back door, Spurs by winning the cup, Villa also finished above them, so City miss out.

I'd rather not play Burnley as it stands, we are only just starting to gel and they are not playing Ince's style yet (which will take time).

So they could end up fluking a win over us and we'd never hear the end of it.
