Ronin Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 As Newcastle have sold Milner, they'll definitely have the money if they decide to go back in for Warnock. 1st September can't come soon enough!!!
DeadlyDirk Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Ince is confirming he is happy that he has brought in Grella and Andrews but is still looking to bring in another one or two if possible.
imy9 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 As stated the Bunn deal is subject to a medical being passed: He sounds very promising, "widely regarded as one of the best keepers outside the premiership".
Ricky Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Hopefully we're the only club in for him otherwise there could be a Bunn fight I'll get my coat!
blue and whites Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 i think castle will use the money to bring skjelbred. and he might be avalible somewhere between 4.5 and 6mill. and i think he would love going to newcastle as it was his favourite club as a child.
Taggart Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I hope newcastle dont go for Pennant Personally, i would prefer the Spanish maestro for the right wing. We seem to be a club for people who have lost their way alittle, to come here, with the pressure and expectation removed from them, and allow them to concentrate on their football. Would prefer Lennon as well to Pennant, but would still be happy if any of the three arrives at Ewood, as they would all improve the team :-)
EwoodGlory Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I hope newcastle dont go for Pennant From what I hear, no-one is lined up to replace Milner, and if they can't find anyone they want they will wait until January. £12m was too good to turn down. £2.4m of it went to Leeds. So hopefully they are not after any of our right wing targets.
imy9 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 £12 million for Milner? That is about £6 million over what he is worth, if Joaquin is valued at £9 million then he is an absolute steal as he provides a lot more to his teams than Milner ever will. Interestingly Valencia are playing on Saturday evening, its on Sky, hopefully get to see Joaquin play.
Manchester Blue Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 You couldn't have two Franks in the same boardroom. Especially when they are quite similar. I don't expect you to give much away but in your opinion have they found a saviour or are they still deep in the mire? If they have can you just lie please? ;-0
tony gale's mic Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I was under the impression the chances of Joaquin were dead? Can someone fill me in? I wouldve thought with the deadline so close, if there was any chance nicko would have reported a bit more activity by now?
nicko Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I don't expect you to give much away but in your opinion have they found a saviour or are they still deep in the mire? If they have can you just lie please? ;-0 I think they have one...because Man City think they have one. Hope to name him soon. Not sure when he gets round to signing the cheque, but they are using the cash as if they had it in the bank...
donis1410 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 any update on the Larsson or Joaquin side of things?
nicko Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I believe the Bunn signing story is right. Played a blinder for Northampton against Bolton the other night...when he was also watched by Manchester City. Must have helped to focus the mind when Rovers found that out.
bonger 26 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 4 days to go nicko who are the hot targets that we could realisticly be looking/in talks with?
Bobby G Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Nicko are we still in the market for a "back up" left back?
Manc Rover Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 No, he supports Timperley FC! Other possible Citeh investors: Paul Calf Pauline Calf Duncan Thicket Ernest Moss (although he could support Stockport) Bernard Manning (oh he's dead isn't he)
PAFELL Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 MILNER - Villa...over £10 million...way too much. RIGHT WING OPTIONS - Still the ones named, but not yet settled or agreed on one. SOARES - Hughes target, signed so many midfielders that he can't be on Rovers radar. ZABALETA - Hughes target at Rovers, bound for Man City...HP deal as usual...Corluka to leave for money. MAN CITY BACKER - May have got the name. Sitting on it for Sunday. But they do think they have found their saviour. Ironically I believe Deco cost 8 or 9 million for Chelsea - so I presume both Newcastle and Villa consider Milner to be a better player than Deco!!!!!!!!!!! Very wierd transfer market these days. But at the end of the day a player is only worth what a club is willing to pay.
EwoodGlory Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Well, let's hope they make the right offer this time...£6 million plus. I have my doubts that they will. Also heard the Atouba deal might be close, so hopefully they won't be getting both.
nicko Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 The right wing options are still being considered. I think Rovers know the price and availability of all them. And there coud be a couple more to watch. As for the left back position that will depend on whether you need a first choice or a reserve - and what Newcastle United are playing at. Sorry to be vague, but I don't think there is aything decided for either position yet.
Baggio Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Nicko A few German sites are reporting Atouba is signing for Newcastle. Hats off to you for calling that one. EDIT - Transfer has taken a twist apparently. According to Hamburg's press officer Atouba was due to fly to England for a medical but instead surprisingly turned up at the training ground and has been included into the squad for tomorrow's match now.
nicko Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Nicko A few German sites are reporting Atouba is signing for Newcastle. There are a lot of agents working for Atouba...and a lot of clubs after him. Chaos. A modern-day transfer nightmare.
park Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Looks like Bunn has signed, BBC Sport breaking news and its on the Rovers website that deal is close. Pretty positive about it, he is only 24 (I think) and was there player of the year last season. Played 100 games as well so not a total newcomer! Wonder what this will mean for Jason Brown!?
