On the Bentley transfer

(who also since his move has not said ONE complimentary thing about the club, fans, etc)

Thats not true. He has said Blackburn are a great club, that he enjoyed himself here but felt he needed to move on.

Agreed on Bentley having to go though, with everything else that was going on he had to moved on ASAP, brinkmanship would have brought us an extra 2 mill max but left us with risk of deal collapsing and bentley not moving.

One bad apple....

He was a top player a while back and he was being touted as a future great but like a lot of players injuries took their toll.

I hope he isn't the mystery wide man we are looking to bring in.

Surely not, he's all left foot and at 32 doesn't fit in with our sell-on value policy.

However I would happily take his old team mate Rossina!

I have been hoping that our looking at Joaquin was a sign of the quality of player we are aiming for but will wait with baited breath.

Remember nicko did say "but the word is he is very quick". You could never have accused Recoba of being speedy.

He showed really well v Hull. I've watched Gally for years and I can only compare him to the Tin Man .... he appears to have no heart for the game.

He's got a cheesy lovely new white Audi Q7 pimped to the gills though; says it all I guess. Maybe that's why he didn't fancy move to Norway, it'd be invisible in the snow.

His talent has never been in question - it's his application. Always felt he was due a big season two years ago when he'd spent that first loan spell at Stoke. Always been able to pick a pass, had decent amount going for him but he just seems to have lost his way a la Sergio.

But what a left foot it is! I have no idea what age, injuries or rust has done to him, but he used to be a fantastic player. I can think of very few players with a better shot on him.

I would think most of his career goals are in

. Highlights start at 1:30. Whether there's any truth in him being linked with us or not, it's worth a watch if you're not familiar with Recoba.

I know who he is I used to be a big fan of italian football, just said purely as we need a right winger not a left winger. I've never been a great fan of lefties on the right or vice versa, unless two footed.

Just broken on Sky Sports Website...

Interesting choice if it true, is ageing but proven quality!!

So can someone explain to me what the difference between Recoba and Fowler is? Class in their day(which was a minimum 5 years ago) unfit, injury prone. Just cos Recoba is from abroad he is suddenly an interesting choice?

Wonder if Ince is gonna get the same level of criticism over this one?

RECOBA! :tu:

Could be an amazing signing, especially if it's on a free. I don't think he and Ince played together at Inter but I could be wrong... He is left-footed though.

Say it's true Nicko...?

EDIT: D'OH! Not sure what to think about this mystery target, although if he's foreign then surely we're really struggling for time...

Don't want to spoil the fun but Recoba was past is five years ago - and Odonkor has just been ruled out for six months.

No more clues on the target - and how far it has gone - until late tonight.

Whether it's worth the wait is a matter of opinion.

I wonder if Ince was at Inter when Reboba was at all?

According to wikipedia, Ince was at Inter from '95-'97, and Recoba joined in '97. Not sure if there was a bit of an overlap with their time there.

Could explain why, when Recoba became available, Ince thought it was too good a chance to miss, even though his position is not a priority.

We do know Ince likes his ex-team mates/buddies ;)

Quite close with the Inter link. Paul Ince left Inter in 1997, Recoba joined in 1997. He would know about him...but I cannot believe this story is right.

Even on loan or a free it's hard to take in as an idea.

Sadly, you haven't seen Recoba play in the last 3 years....

No chance are rovers interested in this guy.. agent talk. He will go to Monaco, if any where
