I wonder if Ince was at Inter when Reboba was at all?

Surely there's a far more obvious link than that, he was apparently on loan at Torino last season where Grella came from implying either

a) Ince has close links with a particular Italien agent who seems to be sending us players from Torino or

b ) Grella recommended him.

Personally I'd stay well clear, huge wages probably, and he can't be that good these days if he didn't impress enough to earn a permanent deal over there.

I could imagine him coming over and his interest levels dropping proportionately with the temperature over the winter months.

Recoba agent quotes are a give-away.

Saif Rubie confirmed the player was due to arrive in England this weekend to talk to interested clubs and that the South American was keen to try his luck in the Premier League.

"There are several clubs interested in him," Rubie told skysports.com. "He's due to arrive in England on Saturday, but as a free agent he is not under pressure to sign before the transfer window closes so we will evaluate all the options open to him.

"However, at this stage in his career he wants to play in the Premier League and we are hopeful he will end up there."

Rev, you're going soft in your age!

Thanks Nicko - Agent spinning crap and wishing for the best.

Point taken Nicko, but aren't those quotes quite similar to what could be applied to a transfer like, for example, Arshavin's on/hopefully-off move to Spurs?

I know there will be a LOT of desperate agents all over the world in the next 48 hours trying to garner interest in their players, but sometimes when there's smoke there's got to be a little fire...?

What, we sign Grella from Torino, then immediately afterwards are linked with a second player from the same club?

Pretty coincidental otherwise isn't it?

In this case it is coincidence.

This is a wikipedia summing-up of Recoba's year with Torino. I don't think it has been tampered with.

Recoba scored his first goal for the club in the second match of the season, a 1–1 draw with Palermo, after a good combination between himself and Alessandro Rosina. On December 19, 2007 Recoba gave a top-class performance against A.S. Roma in the Coppa Italia, scoring two excellent goals in Torino's 3–1 win. However, his performances have been disappointing since due to injuries and lack of playing time; he has not made the expected impact despite a good start and finished the season out of the starting formation.

So, in short, he is a crock.

Grella was spotted on international duty and NOT from his time with Torino.

Nicko will the mystery target be willing to come and will we pay the money asked for him

The player would come - but the question is 'will the club sell?'

Still searching for the answer to that...as are Rovers.

It's all a bit sweaty.

So can someone explain to me what the difference between Recoba and Fowler is? Class in their day(which was a minimum 5 years ago) unfit, injury prone. Just cos Recoba is from abroad he is suddenly an interesting choice?

Wonder if Ince is gonna get the same level of criticism over this one?

Agreed, both are past their best, both were good players. Ironically Fower has probable played more games in the past 2 years than has Recoba and is probable fitter. Anyway the latter won't be coming to Ewood. His agent is just fishing in hope a club will bite. Pennant is a more likely target than Recoba - I also believe that even Pennant is being PUSHED in Rovers direction by others. Pennant probable wants to stay at Liverpool and I believe Ince is looking elsewhere for a right winger.

Grella wouldn't recommend Recoba.. Bresciano maybe, not Recoba.

Did you see Torino play last year?

I do agree its close, but as Nicko said, look at the agent 'talk'.... <_<

EDIT: Spellng mistake

I don’t normally indulge in this sort of questioning & realize that you cant name the player .

Nicko- How old (roughly) is the player in question ? most importantly how much will the player cost? ( an estimate will do)

Teamtalk also suggesting interest in Recoba for Rovers. Cannot see it myself - unless, like Andrews, Fowler, Ince knows something the rest of us do not. Maybe he thinks he can get Recoba fit again. Give him a simulat contract like he offered to Fowler.

Seems the Annan hype didn't work. As the window is closing Start is now close to agreeing a 1 mill transfer to Rosenborg within Norway. After watching him the last couple of games, I think he's lacking the physique for Premier League, and I think Ince probably realised as much.

Was going to ask a similar question: Relatively young (22 or under)? "Middle-aged" (23-28)? or Older (29 or over)?

I hate waiting to find these things out.. lol

Complex transfer, pacey, Foreign, would join rovers, you dont know much about him, no work permit issues.. Damn that sounds like another one of those cheap unknown player options... I wont even begin to try and guess, been wrong every time so far lol

Any clue on the sort of price range we would be talking about?
