frosty Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Nicko, is the right winger Valdo from Espanyol? He's mentioned in today's Lancashire Telegraph. Sorry if this has been asked before, had a look but couldn't find anything.

EwoodGlory Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Recoba would be a risk, I can;t see him being upto the Premier League, he couldn't handle Serie A sometimes. More of a Man City signing,we'd be better looking elsewhere.
Bobby G Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Cant be Bellion as Nicko has seen him in England before. Valdo was mentioned here yesterday or the day before and Nicko said he isnt first choice, yet...
MarkBRFC71 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Nicko, is it this guy? http://www.guillembalague.com/rumores_desp.php?id=77

Doaksie Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Gallagher joins Plymouth as we were told yesterday by ABBEY. Would be nice to see him grab the winner against them lot today!! He's been included in the squad (squad no. 11)
Craigman Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 is he playin against the dingles today ? Yes he starts today
thenodrog Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 El Chino? He must literally be pants... "Recoba - Uruguayan, nickname ' El Chino ' (the Chinese) because of his Oriental features - would be an adornment to any team in the world." Good grief he can't come here surely! Creosote and leftwinger etc would be absolutely apoplectic at the racist implications of that nickname!
dopper69 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I wonder if he could be coming to keep Pedersen on his toes. From what I've seen of Recoba he hasnt been ggod for a few years and I couldnt see him walking into the team

Theno - Its agent talk only... this kind of rubbish will soon be over. Philipl - Ince never played with Recoba at Inter.. honest Indian.
SamTheShrew Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 why the hell is ince not bidding for kightly. he is running the show at wolves
rovers1993 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 is this new right midfield target an improvement on someone like pennant?
Rover down South Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 why the hell is ince not bidding for kightly. he is running the show at wolves Two goals so far today I believe.
BomBom Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 That game exemplifies the need for pace and creativity from midfield. Treacey wasnt bad to be fair but I cannot understand why Carlos didnt get a look in instead of the young Irishman. Hey ho, break now and lets hope we can get some creative signings through the door!
RoverRich Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Nicko, please tell us that this mystery right winger will help us to improve on that abysmal performance from today!!!! We need a quality right winger and Emerton to move back to right back. A new striker would be good as well because without Santa we didn't look like scoring in the second half.
Plastic Head Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I for one don't think we should spend any more money for now. We first need to get more out of what we have, which I believe we can do. Robinson - good shotter stopper but stay on yer line. Samba - needs to work on positioning. Ooijer - needs to play at centre-back. Right-back only in tough away games. Kishi - deserves a run in the team at some point at centre back. Bert - If he can work on positioning could be the answer at right back. Simpson - needs to develop. Reid - just a centre-mid player - at his best box to box and needs to get back to this. Dunn - just needs to stay fit. Carlos - Can't wait til he gets a run in the team. Grella - Andrews - Time to settle. Pedersen - needs to be sold to Spurs. Derbyshire - work on first touch. McCarthy - has the ability - needs to show it again Formation. Probably a diamond in MF would work best with the players we have. Only Predersen gives natural width and he's useless so I would go 4-1-2-1-2.
philipl Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Theno - Its agent talk only... this kind of rubbish will soon be over. Philipl - Ince never played with Recoba at Inter.. honest Indian. Recoba was at Torino last season, sort of, and 12 seasons at Inter before that. Ince was at Inter '95-'97 wasn't he?
Lathund Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Recoba joined Inter in the summer of '97, whereas Ince left that same summer. So they may have been at the club at the same time, but would not have played any games together.
tchocky Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Please tell me the "right winger" is not Hossam Ghaly! As for Recoba that would have to be a financially viable pay as you play deal. While he has some amazing technical qualities I have little faith he can adapt to the prem, especially at his age. Not the answer for us.
Manc Rover Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I for one don't think we should spend any more money for now. We first need to get more out of what we have, which I believe we can do. [/quote you seem very knowledgable. perhaps you should be the manager
LeChuck Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I hope not, we'd get relegated playing a diamond formation. No other Premiership teams play it, and that's because width is so important to a team's success. We desperately need to replace Bentley, it has to be the top priority.
EwoodGlory Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Right winger targets. Bresciano scored for Palermo tonight Joaquin not in Valencia sqaud tonight, but is in the stands
nicko Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Thanks for your patience... The surprise right wing target is Brett Holman, an Aussie who plays for AZ Alkmaar in Holland. There have been talks going in for the past couple of days, but it is both strange and complicated. Strange because Holman has just joined AZ but COULD be available if they get a profit. And complicated because AZ want Andre Ooijer in the deal. As of right now the clubs are haggling over two lots of valuations...which are difficult as you can imagine. I don't know much about Holman but he caught the eye as a sub for the Aussies aganst South Africa recently, a game that got Grella his move. Got to say I didn't know he was a right winger - or seen as that by Rovers - but I am willing to be persuaded. So we shall see if they can sort out the swap or even do a straight buy. Valdo of Espanyol was also watched tonight, nod idea how he did. Pennant is still an option, but I think Joaquin is too expensive as things stand. It's a bit 'balls up in the air' but that is not unusual at this time.
T4E Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 An Australian right winger called Brett from a club in Holland. There's no way this can fail!
