Ireland scores for Man City.

I heard that Joaquin was linked with Real, can't find anything more about him being linked with Roma, which i heard last night.

I don't think the Valencia manager wants him in the squad, maybe a late loan bid might be worth it, if he doesn't go elsewhere.

Heard that if robinho goes to chelsea, real madrid will make a bid for joaquin. Well it was good whilst it lasted.

Joaquin was never a realistic target.

I can only really see us buying Pennant, and thats not something that excites me. We need someone though. In 3 years Emerton's best position is right back, put him back there, get a right midfielder in and order Reidy a taxi back not 2006 when he had a good season.

I will get any news out earlier if possible, but it's all a bit hazy right now.

Do you know if it is true that Newcastle are close to completing the Atouba deal? so I can stop worrying about losing Warnock.

With Enrique getting injured yesterday, they will surely get a left-back in.

Atouba has turned them down...signing for Borussia Dortmund.

If Newcastle can't afford him what chance have they got with Warnock?

cheers i thouught it was today because its last day of month.

The FA is shut on a Sunday apparently, so it has been extended by a day, most of the leagues around Europe have done the same.

I really respect Kightly if that's what he's said, shame though.

I don't understand all this negativity towards the possible purchase of Pennant. The Pennant who was at Leeds and Birmingham would be an amazing signing. He showed at both those clubs just how good a player he can be with regular football. I would be overjoyed if we signed him and devastated if we end up letting him go to somewhere like Stoke.
