I assume if a offer is accepted and terms agreed with a player, he would then need a medical before registration is faxed to EPL/FA before midnight, or can the registration be retracted if he later failed a medical, Etc.

What"s the score, so to say.

I would suspect these are put down as loan deals to beat the window closure. Then after the player comes down, the medical is done and the transfer is finalized - officially in January obviously.

To be fair, you don't need to know much about football to know who the best players in the world are. You hardly need to wait for a scout report to decide whether Berbatov or Villa are worth bidding for.

Hughes did seem genuinely pleased about goings on, he showed last January that he's not good at hiding his feelings if he's unhappy about something. I'm sure he'd much rather be told he's getting a new £30 million pound striker than being told he can't have a few million for a new midfielder...

THEY haven't spent a penny. Out net spend is nothing, especially when you consider the rise in TV money and numerous CL runs over the past two seasons. We've hardly spent anything out of the ordinary.

Riera - 8 million + Finnan.
