I was simply pointing out that you're wrong about him "wasting nothing"...also if you're such a genius why don't you go and locate a board dedicated to your own football team

(I would just like to point out that I have no want for a slagging match with anyone, but I'd rather not be attacked by a fan of another team on a Blackburn Rovers Messageboard <_< )

Attacked?

I called you Einstein.

Are you scared of your own shadow?

Nicko what was the board meeting about then if not about signing anyone

It's not likely he was invited, and if JW wanted it to go public I'd assume he's had a stroke. I'm trying to read through this thread but its growing faster than it can be read with people repeatedly asking "nicko, what's this / what's that / what do you know / what don't you know". He's already said he doesn't expect anything short of a surprise to happen and he knows of nothing in the pipeline so please stop asking him the same questions, it's practically flooding the thread! I'm sure he'll tell you if he does hear about a surprise. And yes I understand the irony of writing this off-topic post complaining about others flooding the topic with repition.

Big mistake if we don't sign anyone - without Bentley's crosses we are lacking creativity, but with Dunny out too and Ince reluctant to play Carlos we look pretty weak. Peds provides next to nothing, Reid just isn't good enough and other than that we've got squad players only.

Perhaps Andrews will prove to be Lampard-esque and contribute 15 goals from midfield, but I ain't holding my breath.

Also, I would have liked to see us sign a striker, as for me at the moment we've only got two true Prem quality strikers. Unless Benni loses about 2 stone, and Derbyshire gets a whole lot better we'd be totally screwed if Rocky got a long-term injury.

im fairly confident that emerton can do just as good a job on that right wing as any of the proposed targets can. wouldnt be the end of the world if we didnt get anyone.

Pedersen can also play on the right if we get stuck - is he not natually right footed?

If anyone thinks we will be ok without a couple signings

watch the WHU and Hull games! We were seriously lacking!

To wait till January is a bigger gamble than any of the RW signings!

How long ago did Bentley leave? We still havent found a replacement

and the best they come up with is a Striker/left midfielder who

according to our Oz friends is total Cack!

He hasn't ever been good enough on the right wing whilst he's been here, I'll be amazed if he starts now.

Who would be back up? Reid? :(

Barton story is a stunt. Ignore.

I don't think Rovers will be signing anyone now.

Rovers won't let Ooijer go because they have no cover, so AZ won't deal on Holman.

I can't see Pennant changing his mind and there is no word of Espanyol selling Valdo...they just sold Riera, so they don't need the cash.

Barring late surprises. Nowt.

But what do I know?

All in all a horribly disappointing transfer window.

1. Hang on, I said that he has described himself as an attacking midfield player, like Cahill. Nicko said that he is the right sided player that we are looking at based on Holman's recent performance Vs South Africa- we can assume that was on the right wing otherwise Rovers management have clearly lost the plot! Acutally, if you check the postings, you do refer to him as a right winger too.. see below. I have also provided many links that verify him as a striker from his profile (although I did conceed that he can play AM)

Well we are now down to the following possibilities:

Valdo

Pennant

Jaoquin

Holman

Out of the above Joaquin is the best available right sided player but I would suggest Pennant is the next best option.

2. Another fallacy on your part, I did not compare him to Pires, Young etc, I merely made the point that there are right footed players playing on the left, I think YOU thought it did not exist. No fallacy - I actually asked, what would be better a right-footed right sided player or a left footed one, you brought in Pires et al. Why mention these players, if you were not trying to draw any remote comparison

3. I did not say Van Gaal is developing him, I said Van Gaal is good at developing talent which means that he is good at talent spotting (can you see a clear link with what you are doing with my quotes, maybe if you read the whole post without putting your own 'spin' on things you would not have to make up things up). You stated he was a emerging talent that could be developed by LVG.. If LVG is shifting him, why not develop him then? why get rid of a player you have just signed, to fill a defender shortage? Bear in mind LVG sold his defenders, so he knew what he was doing..

Thank god for Youtube and quality managers purchasing players for large sums of money because they would be classed as rubbish otherwise wouldnt they, hey? ;) I seem to recall a certain Chilean was signed after watching him on Youtube... We honestly don't know that PI was looking through youtube for Carlos and his bag of tricks.. again my point stands on this - Btw please enlighten me with these great youtube clips of Brett Holman

I just think it is laughable that a 24 year international player, playing in a good European league can be classed as "rubbish" but then comments like "vaguely talented are used with gritted teeth to describe him, like I said maybe he has offended the Aussies. You got more a decription, than 'vaugely talented' and you know it.. cherry pick, what you wish

It would be nice and greatly appreciated if, when you refer to things that I say, that you actually refer to what I have said rather than a distorted made up version by your good self, cheers. I quoted you many pages back with your own posts, so no spin is needed.. ;).

Still not the answer!

Im not saying we should panic buy but my point is a replacement shouldnt have been left

until the last day of the transfer window!

It was reported on sky that Pennant would like to go to Rovers, but Rovers are not interested in him.

No Pennant?

HOORAY!! B)

Sorry, I may be in the minority here, but I really feel he would be a horrendous signing for Rovers. £5m? £50,000 a week? No thank you. It speaks volumes about the guy that he's willing to warm the bench at a "big" club rather than play football for a living. Not the sort we want at Blackburn.

So we had a meeting this morning to decide which right-wing target to go for... I have a question - WHY WAIT UNTIL TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY TO DISCUSS THIS??

The City stuff is rubbish guys - just wait and see - they won't sign anyone this window as they don't have the cash. The deal has been done but they won't be given free cash just yet until due diligence has been passed.

Would you give someone £30m to spend when you might not own the club? Spurs spotted this a mile off and are calling their bluff. If they do spend it will be added to the Leedsesque debt pile.

It's the usual City hype to sell tickets.

Trust me on this.
