brfcshabba Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Man City after Robinho? Another publicity stunt no doubt
hawkiiz Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 See the local rag reports JW has saying we will not panic buy surely that rules a deadline move out? Panic seems to be the word I mean £6million for mcartney hahaha. have they been panicking all summer then?
brfc_jonesy Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 man city are a joke, and everything that is wrong with modern day football
joey_big_nose Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I have backed Ince all the way through, and will still see how things pan out obviously, but if we don't sign anyone what are our options on the right? Reid is looking terrible, Emerton is a worker but not a creater. It is a sad state of affairs where you can say that probabaly the best option is to play Pedersen on the right and Treacy on the left? Or Cruz on the right of a 433? Blimey... We are going to be put in the position of hoping Judge or Simpson can follow Treacy's example and make the step up. If not we are looking pretty screwed. Come on guys, pull another rabbit out of the hat!
brian_gallagher85 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 That muppet at COM is just like every other City fan...a complete dick Nicko, or anyone who knows, how the hell can Berbatov be having a medical at Old Trafford if they haven't agreed terms with Spurs, or am I being really nieve? Cousin to Hull
RoverRich Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I get the feeling that by january it will be too late. Teams would have realised how poor our right side is and how desperate we are for a right winger so will start upping the prices of their players. It will probably get worse than it is now
hollowsr Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I'm guessing that Man Utd have been given permission to talk to Berbatov. Even Ferguson ain't that stupid to try something like this.
ebenrocks Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 this transfer window has been shambolic for us. Sort it out rovers. Aint got high hopes for this season if we dont even have a competant right winger. Im sure opposition fullbacks will be shaking with fear at Emerton hurtling towards them. We had a terrible January and this has been a terrible Summer, the board and ince dont seem to have got their priorities right at all
Billy Castell Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Have a bad feeling we'll not sign anyone.
andyrover Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 who would want to come to blackburn in this rain
CircoWill Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I'm guessing that Man Utd have been given permission to talk to Berbatov. Even Ferguson ain't that stupid to try something like this. Echoes of the Roy Keane saga all those years ago. If only the Rovers secretary hadn't gone home for the weekend...
T4E Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I'd have thought Spurs have given the go ahead for the medical incase United come up with the cash. Spurs would be daft to deny them that only for them to say they'll pay at 11ish and not be able to make it happen. This is as bad as January. Cannot believe we're going to pocket the Bentley cash and do sod all.

nicko Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 The Berbatov affair is about to become the biggest transfer stink of all time...
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I get the feeling that by january it will be too late. Teams would have realised how poor our right side is and how desperate we are for a right winger so will start upping the prices of their players. It will probably get worse than it is now Why does everyone assume that we will be playing with an out and out right winger ? I always believed that part of Emerton's problem was that he needed room to make best use of his pace. Given a more pacy winger on the opposite flank (Treacy) - I think Emerton could start to see a little more room developing for him. At some point I think Ince will adjust the team to make room for Carlos - and I can see use playing 4-3-1-2 - with a narrow midfield.
ffan Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 The Berbatov affair is about to become the biggest transfer stink of all time... That mean he's staying at Spurs?
CornishRover Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 who would want to come to blackburn in this rain Who wouldn't?! The only difference between Cornwall and Blackburn is that the rain's slighly warmer down here...
T4E Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 That mean he's staying at Spurs? Intruiging.......
stuwilky Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Nicko, or anyone who knows, how the hell can Berbatov be having a medical at Old Trafford if they haven't agreed terms with Spurs, or am I being really nieve? Gets the medical out of the way. The theory is that they cannot discuss terms with the player.....
speeeeeeedie Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I think we should stick with what we've got. Things tend to get a bit desperate on the last day. Some of the silly prices being paid for very average players baffles me.
ebenrocks Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Have a bad feeling we'll not sign anyone. i'd say we almost certainly wont. We lose two of our best players and sign the grand old duke of FA, terrible. We started with an apparent transfer budget of about 10 million, plus 5 from hughes, plus 16 million or there abouts from Bentley and 2.5 from brad. With deductions i think we should still have had around 22 million to spend, and we've spent 7 maybe 8 million. As soon as Bentley left, a right winger of equivilent or better abillity should have beenbrought in. Theres no point in selling your best players for millions if you're going to replace them with a worse model, and that is all we've been doing.
rovers1995 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Nicko could just mean that its dragged on for too long now its getting boring
