CircoWill Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 So, we haven't signed any right midfielder to prove how good Bentley was for us? No, wasn't saying that. Just saying that when you've had such a quality player (one that was determined to leave, and as we know, players usually get their way in today's world), it's not always easy to find a replacement with enough qualities to replace him. It would be more worrying if Ince had come out and said that he didn't feel like we needed to replace him. That hasn't happened. He and the board have said that they were trying to sign a right-sided player but they have obviously been unable to do a deal. I think it's quite obvious (from recent interviews with JW and Ince) that Rovers have been trying to do a deal right up to the deadline but have been unable to (whether that is with a club or with the player himself). Not the same as not trying.

ihateburnley Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Maybe Rovers should just apologise to fans for the lack of inspiring transfer activity and use the left over money to fully refund season-ticket holders to help them through the credit crunch? Blackburn Rovers - the friendly club.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 good Post. Just sit back and enjoy the rest of the transfer Window. Hope Robinho doesn't sign for City though. would love to see Sparkys reactions. Something along the lines of " We bid for Robinho and Berbatov, this shows we are a club that are very ambitious blah blah"... No hope he signs and then fails medical
Darth Paul Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Long term Hughes target no doubt...he is playing Fantasy Football alright, but it is someone elses team...
LDRover Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 The "Rovers have had ages since Bentley went" argument doesn't wash either. The world hasn't seen a sudden influx of ready made right wingers in that time. So don't sell him then, just like Martin O'Neill did with Gareth Barry.
ebenrocks Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 its really depressing watching SSN right now. What does everyone think is going on at ewood right now? Board have had an early night but Ince has stayed up to do his colouring book quietly in the corner?
67splitscreen Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Wonder what Roman will be saying to Kenyon on the phone rite now.
BuckyRover Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I can't believe Chelsea will let this happen. By the way, where is he going to play in that team? Wonder if Sparky knew anything about this... Did he feck! He was driving around Manchester looking for Berbatov

RoverRich Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Why would anyone with half a brain cell choose Manchester City over Real Madrid!!!! I really do not get this Robinho transfer! Why didn't Chelsea with all their millions pay a few more and get him?

Board have had an early night but Ince has stayed up to do his colouring book quietly in the corner? It is a it depressing, isn't it? I keep telling myself that we are going to slip one thru under radar in the last few minutes... but it just ain't going to happen is it. Same as every other window, don't know why I bother staying up right to the last minute.
brian_gallagher85 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Did he feck! He was driving around Manchester looking for Berbatov Why? He's been at Old Trafford all evening, have they not been able to afford Sky at COMS this year

Faz_Rover Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 "Outside of the transfer windows, any club may still sign players on an emergency basis (such as if they had no goalkeepers available) with the permission of their competition's governing body, ie the Premier League". Does that mean we can sign a RM as we don't have one

grizfoot Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Why? He's been at Old Trafford all evening, have they not been able to afford Sky at COMS this year I think they should be able to afford to subscribe to Sky now somehow.
vintageadidas Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Robinho aint even that good! Waste of £32.5m in my opinion.
percy Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 So don't sell him then, just like Martin O'Neill did with Gareth Barry. Exactly. I never once thought we'd let Bentley go without having a replacement in mind. My only hope is that Ince has a new formation in mind that doesn't rely on us needing a right winger.......
brian_gallagher85 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Nah, I reckon they'll have a dodgey foreign stream going
novella Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 i suppose recoba is the only possibility right now then.
nicko Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Man U deal done. Berbatov going for £25 million plus £5 million Campbell. Spurs were going to the Premier League to look for a ruling. Even talking about pushing the deadline back until this was settled. Campbell was with Wigan boss Steve Bruce when the call came about 10.30. The call also stopped Camara going to Stoke. Unbelievable.
Faz_Rover Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Nicko anything happening with Everton and Felliani? At least we have Carlos. Poor old Everton have Saha.
