67splitscreen Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Funny I was reading a soccer web site thee other night, after they had sacked Rudd Guillit, There seemed to be a lot of unrest at LA. Was thinking to myself about Beckham on loan, but decided he would not leave the states for a season(well posh) Fair play if it is true, we sell the pretender, and end out with the No 1 England RW.

colbert Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 oh please, thats not worth a reply (damm i've just replied)
blue and whites Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 from an agent which has a lot to do with several american players, and he also got a lot of players in european divisions. and i heard from him that beckham would be avalible on loan, or sale. because of the problems in the club right now. they are trying to get him off the paycheck.
steverovers Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 That'd be great, if we could pull that out of the hat!
rovers1995 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 It will not be David Beckham (as much as i would like it to be), if it is true it will surely be Aaron Lennon. (Coming from the south of England). Nicko can you confirm that we are signing a right winger on monday.
bats Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 That'd be great, if we could pull that out of the hat! True it would shut Alan McInally up as he seems to think our buys are from the lower leagues of England!

Let's say we give that story an ounce of credibility it ends right there. He has a contract which would need to either be paid off by Galaxy - negating any saving for them or his new club would have to buy him out - which we couldn't afford - let alone afford to pay the guy's wages! The only other option I can't believe either, since I highly doubt Ince and Beckham were that close that he would buy his own contract out to come over and play for Blackburn Rovers. Sounds like WUM to me. Did I really just credit that with a reply??
blue and whites Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 aaron lennon would not be reasonable, since we could have included him in the deal with bents..
Nelsta Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I hear we are trying to get Pele to come out of retierment.Apparently we're offering him 12 Viagra pills a week.
rovers1995 Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Maybe we want him now thats like saying they can't have roque they should have put it in a deal with robinson.
Drakefyre Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I've heard that Lennon did not want to have anything to do with us, which is why we never pushed to have him included with Bentley. That and the sell-on fee to Arsenal. But if he's had a change of heart due to Bentley arriving and his PT dropping, anything's possible. Still, I doubt it will be Lennon.
blue and whites Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 i would think he might consider to go down in wages. there is no reason for him to be in a club if they might not be able to pay him the wages.
andyrover Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I hear we are trying to get Pele to come out of retierment.Apparently we're offering him 12 Viagra pills a week. that would certainly stiffen up our front line

USRoverME Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I've always thought that reply was odd, the "Lennon makes no sense, it would have gotten done with Robinson" reply. After all, the market changes, why do a deal at that time if Lennon is target number 3 or 4. But if you rule out the frist few for whatever reasons, are you going to NOT go back to Lennon, simply because the two teams already did a deal? At the time, a Lennon deal wasn't likely, but now, what almost a month later, as the season starts and the window closing looms... priorities and targets change in a hurry.
blue and whites Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 no! but it doesn' t seem that rovers have made any offers for other right wingers, so if they make a bid for lennon now, it surely looks like he was the first option after all.
USRoverME Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 oh, and if you want a decent laugh at the expense of the team that brought balls and posh to the states... this guy is a decent read: Link to ESPN soccernet so because there was no public report of a bid for any right wingers, that means there was no-one else on our shopping list.... do you really believe that, based ont eh way we do business behind closed doors?
Majiball Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I hear we are trying to get Pele to come out of retierment.Apparently we're offering him 12 Viagra pills a week. Almost what I heard, Taken form the daily Tosh: King Kenny shrewdly decided that instead of a youth policy at Blackburn Rovers they would take a different route. Yashin, Carlos Alberto, Beckenbauer, Moore, Nilton Santos, Cruijff, de stefano, Platini, Pele, Maradonna and Garinnachi where all payed to provide DNA samples. this is not meant in bad taste (just in case) The cloning process has gone well and all of the above will be ready to play in the 09/10 season. Beckham to Rovers give yourself a pinch.
blue and whites Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 several other players we have been after are made public; grella, andrews, pennant etc..and the beckham story might be true. after what i have heard, and i can not rule out anything this summer.
Doaksie Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Who's on your accum for tomorrow Nicko? Any hunches? Have to say, I think Rovers are much too big a price and are worth a nibble, but then again I do wear blue and white tinted glasses!! They've knocked out my bets on manys an occasion. You'd think I'd learn.

IF the beckham story is true, and thats a big IF, how much much of his wages would we be paying? would put a lot of the anti ince group in the quiet room. whoever we get in, i would like them here before 30th August West Ham game not 31th at 2355. we should get something out of each of the next 3 games even if the everton game is tricky.
