No apparently we received a £9m bid last Friday, however in real it was much closer to £5m. Apparently Sunderland have been back again – whether or not they have reached £9m yet? No news! Nicko?

Any clues on the striker? Is it the argentine West Brom want from Mallorca?

I've a wasp in my wig about the term 'world class', in that it's completely devalued - mainly by Scousers - as it's too often banded about as a superlative. Like when Schmeicel was often called 'best goalkeeper in the world' - it was often said by people whose football knowledge hardly surpassed 30 miles (let alone world 'soccer' as a whole), plus they were always biased.

Cripes, listen the Liverpool fans and they often say Carragher is 'world class'. Ferdinand only yesterday was classed as a pundit as 'the best number 5 in the world'. What piffle. I'm not saying they're not good, or excellent, but it's always difficult to pick the best of anything as everyone has their own opinions, differing criteria, bias etc.

To me, 'world class' means that said player is good enough to play independently for the best side anywhere in the world (national or league), fit in with the style of football, & excel. Taking Carragher for example, though he is very committed, tough, consistent etc. it's only IMO because he plays in a league where them strengths suit the football - I can't imagine him being as good in any league as Cannavaro for instance. Equally, English players in particular have a problem replicating their success in the national side - so if players (such as Carragher) aren't even good enough to be considered national class, what hope is there for world class? Also, how many sides in the world come in for our best players (even before all the money was around)?

he was clearly the best keeper in the world at the time!

torres would walk into everyones starting XI at the moment (inc. man u, real, barca etc) . As would ferdinand.

What kind of top striker comes in on a trial?!!?

Maybe its not the player thats on trial, it the club.

Say youve got a top player who has the choice of us or, lets say, newcastle.

They are a more glamerous, tho less successfull club. Wages will be about the same. So many players will choose Newcastle over us...however, we know that our set up is great and the club is always described by new, and old players as a great place to be.

Maybe Ince is trying to get the player to see how nice it is at Rovers to try and sway their decision towards us.

Also, Klasnic has just joined a french club, Nantes i think.

Could be Saviola...

If it is, it makes sense. But he would surely pick Newcastle over us. Unless Roque speaks to him...That would be one hell of a coup...The rabbit at Ewood...

With less than two weeks to go for the window to shut, I see alot of activity from our end...If all three deals come through it would be quite a good squad we would have assembled!

He would live in Manchester. Plus we have Roque, and Carlos, who he would have to speak to and get along with immediately...I dont think it would be that bad an offer. Cant see any of the Champions League teams taking him, especially after his fall from grace during the last couple of seasons.

i'm not sure why anybody would have a problem with the idea of this happening. It is exactly what hapened with Cruz. Saviola might be slightly more of a name, but almost identicle in his profile of a player who was rated as a phenomenon, gone on to play for big clubs but ultimately been disappointing.

From his point of view coming to Rovers or Newcastle for a trial makes sense. See what the club are like, what the opportunities are. He is clearly not wanted at Madrid, and must be a bit ###### off they picked him up only to try and sell him on a year later.

Well this proves why football is so great. Everyone has their own opinions. I personally don't think he is world class yet hence why he is playing for Liverpool. Will he become world class, yes he will.

Will he play for a better club, yes he will.

Try this for size.

David Suazo

Another Inter player who could be on his way out of San Siro is David Suazo, who is today being linked with a transfer to Manchester City, following the serious injury to Valeri Bojinov.

Suddenly we are linked with everyone.
