So there we have it, Carlos puts it up the Wrexham on a Tuesday afternoon.

Santiago Salcedo, a 22 ish year old Paraguayan plying his trade for River Plate. tremendous player,

3 or 4th choice for nation behind:

roque

Cabanas

Cardozo

big boy, good header, great on the ball.... perhaps one for next year if you're interested tapping into S. America.

Why not put an effort on Huntelaar? Very expensive but if we sell Benni to Black Cats we´d still had money to buy winger. And selling him forward shouldn´t be a problem if he is any good. He is desperate to leave Ajax. Just an idea.

depends if he is buddy with ooijer or rigters i guess

I think it could be Diego Milito.

i thought about it being milito earlier on, then i told myself it wouldnt be him as he's a class act and wouldnt fancy a trial. but then again apparently he is a target for everton so he would possibly be in the area. hes not in the olympic squad though so not sure about the time zone hint.

"And Roque did NOT come for a trial first. He was signed from Bayern Munich for a fee."

Based on Nicko's logic in that, our potential triallist would be coming in on a free. Combined with the time zones comment it's someone from a few hours behind us or a lot of hours ahead, since Nicko can't get confirmation until later on. He's coming in to talk to someone else and if that doesn't happen then he comes to us - keep your eyes open for a South American coming to talk to another Prem team about a free transfer.

bobody.

the logic he is talking about is rocky did NOT come for a trial, and we paid for him. now we have some guy coming for a "quick" trial (whatever that means) and therefor he will be free. i dont think he will though.

Has to be hours behind due to late confirmation (asia and now even east Europe are heading to bed) so the americas.. does not need to be the player in wrong timezone as Nicko mentioned agents as well.. also mentioned a fellow Uk team are favourites.. so the search is narrowed within those margins.. unless something odd is ongoing..

Allowed to trial, free or loan I would reckon.. defo a Striker.. not glamourous like Saviola or adriano so search is consideraly reduced further..

We still wont get it....

But IMO the following are there or there abouts...

Carbana (wigan)

Trejo (A few)

Pinilla (WHU)

Love (everton)

Cordoza (not linked to Uk as far as I know and is slightly expensive)

Discounted either not looked at in the uk or just too expensive:

Sobis (He cost 23mil euros not exactly long ago)

Joaquim looks great on Youtube. I know its a 'best of' but he at least shows skill, pace & excitement to a top international level. Hope we sign him.

today we have been linked with some very good players but how much truth is in it can ince attract big names like hughes did

What big players did Hughes bring in???. I don't count Roque when we signed him. Best I can think of is Bellamy but that was personal from Wales.

Is that Julian Joaquim of ex Leicester and Aston Villa fame?

:o

I was thinking the striker in on trial might be Zigic, but nicko said he'd be amazed if anyone got it, and Zigic has been mentioned a number of times before, so guess it isn't him.

Savage? Bellamy, McCarthy.

+ Santa Cruz although his record didn't look that great at the point we signed him.

They are not exactly classed as world wide known players mate.. McBennies was second fiddle at porto, Bellamy a known plonker, Savage.. ditto and Santa loved though he was with fans had a really poor time..

Still hoping Nicko says Salvador Cabañas in a way.. he is a bit of an oddball but scores for fun and is Santas international team mate.. lol
