Sandiway Blue Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Didn't she just win a gold medal in cycling. I guess it explains the need for someone with speed and different time zone. Have they offered her a time trial? Ay up! Taxis `ere!
Doaksie Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Why would Milito agree to a trial? Desperate for a move to the Premiership? His team have been relegated and with the transfer window ending shortly, he remains there. I don't think Nicko necessarily meant a trail in the conventional sense of checking out the player, more that he can come and have a look around the facilities. Maybe also with another club? I've no idea really, all guess-work, much like everyone here. I await Nicko's news, as do we all.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I'd love it to be Milito, but I've a feeling this is going to be one where only one or two people have ever heard the name, but a quick Youtube and Wikipedia search makes him look like a world beater. Then someone will accuse nicko of making everyone think we were signing Milito...

Then someone will accuse nicko of making everyone think we were signing Milito... Yeah, you're probably right. I'd imagine my first reaction will be 'who?', quickly followed by youtube. Then again, it works for Ince.........
67splitscreen Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Ince gives Nicko the nod, Nicko slips it out on here. Nicko contacts agents and Media. Player gets BRFCS approval, or we select a better one. We buy him. Easy Peezy.
nicko Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 JOAQUIN...I know that Rovers have found out the price....it is £9 million up front plus £2 million extra...at those prices I don't think it will happen, but it coud come down and then be a possible. OLIC...The English agent in the deal was at the club today...so again I think they know the price - around £5 million - and that is a possible if Benni McCarthy leaves. TRAINING GAME...Villanueva looked the part...Tigay played...not sure Robbie Fowler did...WHAT is going on there? ANDREWS...I heard Archie Knox went to watch him last week, so that one is still 'live' but will come down to the valuations. MYSTERY STRIKER...Told the guy is going to West Ham first, but Rovers are keen...his name may come out in the morning... ...interesting player...told he is very good...but Curbishley does not want to sign him because the Italian guy Nani - his technical director - is behind the deal. SURPRISE BONUS...There is an Israeli keeper coming in on trial later in the week which suggests the reserve vacancy is not filled...and MK Dons keeper Gueret is not a done deal yet. Good night.
BuckyRover Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 TRAINING GAME...Villanueva looked the part... I hope he plays against Hull

LINK Cavani On His Way To England?? Yes via West Ham
Paul Mellelieu Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Joaquin according to reports hasn't played well for two seasons and didn't make the Spanish EC squad. Is he he Spanish Damian Duff? Would you pay £11m for Duff? Or am I wrong?
callumrovers Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 If we dont sign Joaquin for that price i will pull my hair out
roverfanuk Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 JOAQUIN...We should NOT go above 8 million for him IMO! If we have too, it should be dependent on him playing a certain number of games! OLIC... If we could sell Benni for around 8 million, purchase Olic for 5, then i will be amazed... It would be a brilliant piece of business... Can someone give Benni a lift to the SOL?? TRAINING GAME... Nicko do you have any idea what kind of goal it was? Was it a screamer or a tapin? ANDREWS... Can't see the benefit of signing him... Their are better names out their for the same value? Andrews for £2 million, or Michael Bradley for £3 million? Hmm... Difficult one that one! MYSTERY STRIKER... Any clues on the strikers nationality? Would he be a reserve? What age group? SURPRISE BONUS... If we sign Gueret i will be disappointed... Oh and i think i know who the Israeli keeper is!
Mark Atkins' Bald Patch Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I hope he plays against Hull As do I. It's weird... I've never seen the guy play, for all I know he could be a superflop, but I can barely contain myself with excitement. Roll on saturday, I think Ince will unleash him against hull at home, possibly after an hour gone. Nice way to introduce him to the premiership. He can come on for Joaquin
callumrovers Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 The mystery striker is Edison Cavani, quite interesting but for 12million euros i dont no if i would take the gamble
67splitscreen Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Your mystery striker is above 3 post above Cavani
Roar of the Rover Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 OLIC...The English agent in the deal was at the club today...so again I think they know the price - around £5 million - and that is a possible if Benni McCarthy leaves. TRAINING GAME...Villanueva looked the part...Tigay played...not sure Robbie Fowler did...WHAT is going on there? Is he the Myster target? Will Olic not happen if Benni doesn't leave? Or is there still a possibility?
American Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Let me be the first to ask: Nicko - will there be an 11 o'clocker tomorrow night?
Hughesy Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Profile here He is also on wikipedia and youtube too! 21 year old striker, 6"0. Dont know alot about him but sky sports news have been reporting tonight that he is set to join West Ham. If he is going their 1st - what would make him come up here before signing a deal?? Joaquin is a tad expensive but with his pace, trickery and crossing I could cope with that price. Nicko - Anymore on King Carlos? Was his goal a cracker? He the tricky man everyone thought from youtube?
Veevs Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 MYSTERY STRIKER...Told the guy is going to West Ham first, but Rovers are keen...his name may come out in the morning... ...interesting player...told he is very good...but Curbishley does not want to sign him because the Italian guy Nani - his technical director - is behind the deal. NOOOO please dont be mean to me.. say its Cav and not Pinilla... Cavani.. is too expensive.. with a low goal scoring record.. Pinilla is worse than saha and co for being known as sick boy...
The Rover of Finland Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 If it´s this easy. ..Joaquin, £10m less and let´s get him! As a British he would be double worth. Joe Cole level player. Olic, I´m very angry if we could sign him lower price than we could cash on Benni and it won´t happen. Pure idiotism. Big could on that though. Andrews, what´s the point. Fowler, useless. Mr. Ince, this is the big chance. Sooner than anyone believed. Lot of interesting names and we actually have some cash to use. Joaquin and Olic in, Benni out. Still have some savings for January.
Billy Castell Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Haven't heard of either Cavani or Pinilla. Are they any good?
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I haven't seen much of Olic or Cavanni to be honest. Has any of the forum users seen them play on a regular basis and if so do you think they could work with Roque?
