Anyone slightly worried we are looking at big/strong good in the air strikers? Don't we have that already with Roque?

The pessimist in me is slightly concerned that we are looking at strikers with similar attributes to Roque, i would have thought if we sold Benni we would be looking at a pacey replacement.

Seems to me that we are just looking for new options, something to refresh the squad. Roberts is big and strong, but just doesnt score enough goals.

Like the sound of this Pinto guy, but looks like West Ham already have the deal in the bag maybe?!

Nicko - Any more news on yesterdays friendly? Did Villanueva look class or just ordinary? What was the goal like?

No more news on midfield and right wing?

Isn't Olic pacey? He is the guy Rovers seem to have been quoted a price of £5M for according to nicko and something is moving on.

I get the impression this Pinto offer of a trial is opportunism which will only happen if WHam foul up.

Guess it depends on the pairings if RSC and Roberts are first choice then should Benni leave, then Pinto may back up RSC and Derb's, Roberts.

I notice Fowler is yet to sign???, strange I would have thought that would be done and sorted by now.

I highly doubt Ince would consider loaning Derb's out, he's the quickest forward we have at the moment.

That article is one of the most badly written pieces i've ever seen. Also didn't Nicko say that Fowler DIDN'T feature?

Fowler might have played, my source only got a sneaky look at the game for a few minutes...and didn't notice him. Not many more details unfortunately.

Nicko, There seems to be a lack of rumours for a lot of clubs could it be due to the fact that players are on international duty. Also people who go on about Milner not being worth 9Million, he was outstanding for the U21's last night. Do you think Man City will sell any players before the window closes, as its obvious there suffering financially, otherwise they won't be able to sell any assets until next January.

Before there is widespread panic/rejoicing, I should stress that the chances of Benni going to Sunderland are now very slim.

The reason for that will have to wait a few hours.

I would rather Olic, or even Campbell from man utd, could be availble for around £5million.

I knew when nicko wrote it that it meant benni wouldn't be leaving...not to sunderland or anyone!please tell me it has nothing to do with a huge bid for roque and we will cave in??????

Great little flick. I want to keep Benni, if nothing else to keep the core of senior players at the club this new season. 9 million pounds would be great business though, or 6 for that matter. He'd probably score twenty his first season at Sunderland though..

What surprises me about the Benni situation is that Everton have not shown an interest.

They are desperate for players. They have the money from the Johnson sale and they were looking at Benni before (I think) we were.

I think its obvious that for the right money Benni is on his way - and I must say I am not that bothered.
