Can already see it - Sign Andrews, Grella and some young lad on loan - costing us £5m or so!

After the last few days where we were thinking Big name signings and showing real intent - Joaquin (£9m+), Olic (£5m), Grella (£4m). How depressing!!

Surely Andrews and Grella (even if both are signed) will bolster the options in central midfield, and a wide player will still be brought in.

As for amounts of money, spending 9-11m on Joaquin would be incredibly risky. He might not even settle over here.

it looks like grella will be signed-and with ince wanting andrews i dont think we would bring in another central midfielder-the only position where could possibly bring in a top player would be right wing or upfront to replace benni mcarthy(if someone is daft enough to pay over 7million)..

signing keith andrews isnt all doom and gloom-paul ince knows him-maybe people should trust his judgement-ok he isnt the signing we all want-the "top central midfielder" but shouldnt we judge him when his career hasnt started at blackburn yet..

JOAQUIN - The trouble is the price.

PINTO - Is NOT a Joorabchian player. One source tells me he is at West Ham as we speak but there is trouble over this. Rovers waiting and watching.

ANDREWS - Anyone still want to say I have been making this one up? Can think of one or two having Humble Pie [twice] for lunch right now. Custard Pie for afters...

Nicko: has the club baulked at the price? I assume the 2 Mil worth of addons could be staged payments? (based on certain criteria)

ROQUE/VILLA - Have they got over £20 million to spend on one player? Itis the only question that applies.

JOAQUIN - I think Rovers would like to pay less. I don't blame them.

GRELLA - Not really sure about this one, it's just not a name I have been picking up, but happy to be convinced otherwise.

Didn't we sell Bentley or Friedel to those rivals?

Yep. I can understand the Bentley one to some extent, but not the others. All you're doing is improving the teams around you and then searching for replacements who can keep you at that level, which is tough. Defeats the object.

Incey should make it clear that RSC is not for sale and draw a line under it, as he'll be a big player next season.

nicko when will we hear the Benni news? 11PM OR EARLIER IF SOMEONE GETS THE STORY.

Also, does it have anything to do with Roque? NOTHING AT ALL.

And by saying Sunderland wont get him, does that mean NO ONE will? SUNDERLAND ARE GOING ELSEWHERE AND EXPECT TO GET THEIR TARGET.

regarding joaquin-so blackburn only want to pay 9million but valencia want 11million?? for a top winger like that surely that is worth it..

this french defender aswell-paul baysse-is there anything more on him-you said last time if signed it would be for reserve team??

Villa do have money though Nicko, their chairman is a wealthy guy, but i agree and doubt whether they would go over 20 Million, but im worried about our board.

I don't think Villa would spend £20 million on Roque. It might even take more.

So far they have been clever and creative in the market, but never gone that high.

It would appear Valencia want rid. In that situation you would be mad to pay the asking price. We must chance our arm and it would appear we are doing. It's a good move.

First time for everything, we certainly have a chairman who can afford it and more importantly is willing to spend it.

No idea if we are after him but if we are and thats the price and MON thinks he is worth it we would pay it. Afterall from what I hear he matched Spurs bid for Bentley.

Correct and he has put his managerial career on the line by standing firm, so surely he's not going to budge.

Doubt we could get a replacement as good as Roque. With an inexperienced manager and not in Europe can't see a player of his calibre willing to come to the club at this present time.

Foolish to sell.

I agree with you, but i wouldn't discount them of not having the money. But i think alot of this will boil to RSC whether he wants to be here and whether our board will accept a high amount. So which clubs do you think will be busy in the last few weeks, from that article it looks like Villa will be busy. Spurs will be panic buying, As for us Rovers.

Your dead right T4E, the fact that the president met his agent means they will put pressure on him. Betis used similiar tactics and they worked. Valencia are screwed finacially, the new president has told him no new contract, the previous one said yes to one. We can find some middle ground hopefully, if they accept it will be interesting to see what happens, we'll find out how good Ince is at convincing players we are a club on the up. This ordeal could answer a lot of questions.

Fair enough if he has. Good on him. I just got the impression that you'd listen to big offers for the player. It's tempting but I wouldn't sell him for any price. You might have money in your pocket but you'd have no time to find a quality replacement, while improving your close rivals in the process.

Villa have spent a bit of money and strengthend the squad, but it's been mostly on average crap.

Do you reckon you can fit him in and keep your strikers happy? Carew and Agbonlahor scare the life out of me up front and although I rate Rocky would he dislodge those two?

Can't see any of those 3 playing 2nd fiddle.
