So roughly the current status is...

Strikers - Fowler, Olic, Pinto and Zigic (heard anything about Derbs or Gally leaving maybe on loan?)

Right wingers - Lopez and Joaquin.. any others Nicko seems like we are just targeting two atm?

Central Midfield - Andrews and maybe Grella (or is he RM) I am presuming there are no other names in the hat here that you know about anyways?

Def - Sorted

Goal - Robinson and Isreali U21 chap

Any further news on U20 Hungarian lad?

Do you reckon you can fit him in and keep your strikers happy? Carew and Agbonlahor scare the life out of me up front and although I rate Rocky would he dislodge those two?

Can't see any of those 3 playing 2nd fiddle.

Difficult to answer without going to OT and risking the wrath of your mods, sorry mods in advance.

So short answer, if you went on our site that is the question we have been debating all summer. Gabby and big John are great but we need another striker to push on, the question is do we bring in one to challange or to support?

If (and I do say if as I don't think we will) get RSC I think with Uefa Cup and the league there would be enough games to keep them all happy. But its a tricky one I agree, but Carew does miss a lot of games.

if santa cruz ever went to aston villa ofcourse he would dislodge carew and agbonlahor-he is miles better then them both-saying that tho-i dont see why santa cruz would go aston villa-their in europe but if cruz ever left rovers it would surely be to better himself??

agbonlahor relies too much on pace...

agbonlahor relies too much on pace...

Just the three goals at the weekend.

Abonglahor is some player. He'll go a long, long way IMO. I agree that Carew isn't a patch on Roque, though he is excellent in the air.

I'm a big fan of how Villa have set up their attack. They have a lot of strong defenders and their wide players are absolutely rapid. It's a blueprint for success at this level, and something we should be looking at doing.

Just read the MK Dons-Andrews piece all the way through.

The offer is £500k plus £800k...that is very fair.

And Winkelman has accepted it.

It was only ever down to valuations.

This is happening.

Humble Pie takeaways on order...

Perhaps Benni is injured. Did he pick something up in the SA game?

I think Sunderland will be signing Kevin Doyle later on today, 1 he is Irish, Keane only seems to sin Irish players these days, 2 Benni isnt Irish, 3 our asking price for Benni maybe a bit steep. Also not sure blackburn are keen to sell to a premier league team, as he will prob come back to bite us on the ar*e.

Absolutely agree, they are a club on the up something 'which' may appeal to Santa Cruz. Remember we did sell Shearer to Newcastle who weren't exactly the best. Though i don't want him to go, as i believe it would be a body blow to our club.

An agreement in principle was reached between OM and Sunderland on loan Djibril Cisse the English club until the end of the season, Pape Diouf announced on OM.net. Quelques détails restent à régler en vue de l'officialisation de ce prêt. Some details remain to be resolved for the formalization of this loan.

Is this why Benni to Sunderland is off?

Shearer supported Newcastle all his life, and was a Geordie through and through. If you cut him in half he would bleed black and white. As far as im aware Roque has now Brummie in him, and i dont think he is a villa fan. Ince has qouted several times he isnt for sale, and i assume for him to come out and say this, the board have confirmed they are nt going to consider any offers for him.

That Gabby relies to much on pace comment is a little odd to be honest, yes he is quick but take another look at that hat-trick at his finishing. One header, one left-foot and one-right he has more to his game than pace.

As for RSC v Carew both are in my view very different players, I'm not going to try and tell you guys what sort of player RSC is I wouldn't be so insulting. But for me RSC is a much better finisher on the deck than Carew while Carew perhaps is a little more mobile in terms of pace. Both are excellent at linking play and playing with their back to goal. Who is better? no question RSC scored more last season but Carew is vital in our team set up style of play.

(I'm not here to wind you guys up or cause trouble, just here to talk football)
