Nicko, will either Rovers or Hull City have any new players in before Saturday's match?

the Daily Mail have re-released the story this morning that they had put online last night, saying Hull City have bid £1.5million for Stefan Maierhofer;

http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/footba...s.html?ITO=1490

is that true?

I'd love to see an aerial battle between him and Samba! :D

If Andrews is signing for Rovers, I can imagine him really pushing for it to go through, as I can imagine he'd want to play against his former club?

Is there an 11.00 o'clock news tonight Nicko?

I think you have had the updates already...unless something happens later.

Andrews has to be close, McCarthy more likely to stay and still waiting on right wingers and another midfielder.

Holy crap. That was a fricken bargain!

Gave him away for very little, mind.

I just don't think 12M euro is over the odds, pace, power, dribbling, crossing, I could go on (sorry I watch alot of spainish football).

He has more in his locker than Bentley, given we sold him for £17M, £10M for someone in his prime does not seem that extravigant. Personaly I'd meet the fee, and start convincing the player before someone else steals a march on him.

He is a match winner.

Agree 100%...and don't forget vision. When he drifts inside a bit he can produce that killer final ball. He's better than Bentley. I just watched him against Madrid the other day, and while there weren't many opportunities for him to run at defenders, I can't really see why people think he's "past it" or off form. If he is, a lot of left backs should be worried when he finds it again.

Did anybody read this http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4017193,00.html

Quote from Keane:

"I've heard managers say certain players aren't for sale, trust me, if the price is right then everybody is for sale. There is nothing happening with that yet, but again we'll see in the next few days."

Seems like the McCarthy saga might no be completely over

Keane is right...but the McCarthy to Sunderland job is over.

Cisse is on a flight over and will sign.

A chance to cash in on a player has been missed...

I think it got as high as £7 million.

Don't know how this will impact the search for another striker.

I find it astonishing we would turn £7 million down for a striker who is 31, lacks interest and cannot play with our lead striker. But hten I guess we can't sell without having a replacement lined up.

Don't know if this has been put on here already but im sure people will enjoy it again if it has

Diouf told his club's website: "We had the chance of replying to the offers of other clubs, like Manchester (City), but he as well as me said 'no'" about Cisse

just saw it on teamtalk

hahahaha

Damn...I'd have taken that. I wouldn't have taken the paltry money we got for Bentley and Friedel, but I'd bloody well have taken that. Not sure what our board are thinking.

If we rejected a £7M bid for Benni then there is something seriously wrong with our valuation process. I hearby invite Benni to prove me wrong and score 20 goals from open play.

Me thinks its just going to be just tap ins and penalties from now on from our Benni, the team will have to do the donkey work for our 'star' player in order for him to score.

If the bidding did get to £7m, then that was one hell of an opportiunity missed by Rovers.

We know benni can score 20 plus a season. that is why he's worth keeping. There arent many of those going around. £10m would be fair considering how much a potential replacement 20 goal a season striker would have to cost.

Would this mean that we are to stop searching for another striker and therefore can concentrate just going after Joaquin instead?

i personally think ince has someone lined up to bring in with andrews.

like people say, if he brings in jaoquin at the same time as andrews everyone will be too busy dancing around to care.

im still expecting a signing this week. also ince said in one of his interviews at the weekend he would like a new face or two by this weekend.
