The LT have just picked up on a story that was in Italy on Tuesday which when I spoke to Grella afterwards he denied. He could have been ducking the question but I don't think anything's happening there, at least not yet.

The "talks already underway" news seems to be some rather premature reporting from a few days ago. However, the latest seems to be that Grella can't talk about proceedings, so presumably that means something is now happening for him not to talk about.

ROQUE - Man City phoney baloney 'bid' is now dead. What a surprise? Wait until you see who they drag in instead. Laters, as the man said. Villa won't go to the money needed. Move on.

MCCARTHY - The Cisse Sunderland deal may yet hit a late snag, so that one could come back on. I don't think there is any chance that they will sign BOTH. And the £10 million figure just seems like fantasy.

ANDREWS, FOWLER - Same as it ever was.

ISRAELI KEEPER - Should come in today, over for a few days.

JOAQUIN - Down to price, but other right wingers still being watched. So that is far from settled.

GRELLA - Somebody trying very hard to sell him. Yet to be convinced on this one, but willing to stand corrected.

Im not convinced Sunderland ever properly offered "silly money". I hope they do. But if we have got Ollic lined up I would take whatever we need to bring Ollic in.

I think if they made an offer it would have been in the region of 6/7 million, which i think with any other manager would have been accepted. Um, I think thats a bit harsh. It is his fault if people go, it is his fault if they stay?! I think quite rightly Ince wants to control who stays and who leaves. No point letting McCarthy go unless we have somene lined up.

To be fair he did also say that "no one leaves unless I want to sell them" so if he wants to sell Benni then he wouldn't be going back on his word. However he has since mentioned McCarthy by name as someone he doesn't so then again...
