nicko Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Nicko, gonna go out on a limb and ask... despite all the chat about RSC, Benni and Warnock, and of course Incey saying "no-one is leaving"... are Rovers looking at shipping any out the door, either on loan or permanently? I don't think they are planning to sell...but if a big offer comes in or a player demands to leave you have to plan for that too. You would feel a bit daft if someone broke the bank for one of those three and you could not find a replacement and hadn't done your homework first. I think that's where things are at the moment.

Veevs Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I guess this confirms Pinto probably not heading to west ham.. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-20706244/
jellyfish7006 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 They have to keep prices low otherwise they'd never fill the ground. They can't fill it as it is, despite all your mega bucks spending, which isn't that much in todays climate. Amazing what good PR can do. You're dreaming if you think Lerner has spent a penny of his own dosh. You, like all fans, will eventually foot the bill. Villas AVERAGE attendance last season was 40,000. Rovers was? Let's face up to it Cally Villa will be challenging for 4th spot with a near capacity filled ground every week.
den Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Stiker must be Zigic or Pinto.. shame it does not sound like Olic but I doubt he would come on trial.. Can't imagine it being Zigic. Players either come on trial or loan, not both.
rovers1995 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 It will be Pinto, Nicko said he was 22 years old that is how old pinto is.

You might want to know things like that before taking a pop at BRFC on a BRFC messageboard.
blue and whites Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 i'm seriously hoping for a right winger! i would scream of joy if joaquin came in.. the main priority at the moment is a right winger. emerton is quite good but not the type of class winger we should be looking at. the other target should be a class holding midfielder, not grella or andrews. maduro could become a class player, but not sure about him. we have the cash, we need someone to strenghten the first team, not the squad!

Everyone knows Liverpool fans are idiots Is Benni going to stay, I saw a little bit about him being frustrated at Blackburn? I think you should cash in to the club stupid enough to bid 7m+ for him.
The Rover of Finland Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 i'm seriously hoping for a right winger! i would scream of joy if joaquin came in.. the main priority at the moment is a right winger. emerton is quite good but not the type of class winger we should be looking at. the other target should be a class holding midfielder, not grella or andrews. maduro could become a class player, but not sure about him. we have the cash, we need someone to strenghten the first team, not the squad! Pennant will do also. That Maduro seems decent player too.
joey_big_nose Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Are we trying to buy the entire Valencia side? We must be having a look at Appiah surely? He is on a free...
67splitscreen Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Nicko, the closed door at WHU. Do you have any info as to the reason for the game, if Pinto was not going to play, as I think you suggested. Do you no if Cavani was there. I know I posted this with the link a couple of days ago, but was just wondering the reason behind the closed door game. Cavani On His Way To England?

Rathbone Market Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Nicko, the closed door at WHU. Do you have any info as to the reason for the game, if Pinto was not going to play, as I think you suggested. Do you no if Cavani was there. I know I posted this with the link a couple of days ago, but was just wondering the reason behind the closed door game. Cavani On His Way To England? As I understand it the game was originally organised for James Collins and Nigel Quashie to get a run out. One to prove he has recovered from knee ligament injury ahead of schedule, the other in a hope to get rid of him. I don't believe the game was arranged specifically for Pinto but can't be sure.
Veevs Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Are we trying to buy the entire Valencia side? We must be having a look at Appiah surely? He is on a free... Appiah is injured... which is one of the reasons he left fene.. Valencia are currently in HUGE financial difficulties with debts of 156% of the actual value of the club.. so currently a good place to shop especially as they are out of Europe this season.. and desperate to hold onto Silva and Villa.. so they need to make money somewhere.. hence Muduro up for sale and the willingness to listen to offers for the like of Joaquin..# EDIT and as for Pinto.. less said the better from me.. obviously not a youtube find.. highlights of his ability include well over a half a dozen misses..
blue and whites Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 why not buy several players from valencia? they need the money, so they may come cheap. the whole team underachieved last season so there is a lot of potential in the players. think we should have a go at a few of them. not to keen about zigic tough. but what about albelda or baraja. anyone who plays in a team that beats real m, should we not be insecure of signing. 11mill for joaquin might be a real bargain!
Sandiway Blue Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 But would you have Keith Andrews and Robbie Fowler though? No. But if Ince thinks they will improve the SQUAD then we have to trust his judgement,as his job will depend on him being right or wrong.
bennyboyt11 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 mind you if he brings in players with flair like king carlos, im not too bothered about the workhorses like Andrews and Fowler being added to the squad... fact is no-one knows if these "rubbish" players will fail or suceed, only time will tell
Veevs Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Given that Valencia know they are in the poo and everyone in the entire footy world know it as well.. I have a feeling that allot of clubs will wait until the last moment hoping for a bargain. So although I would love Joaquin to come.. even if we did have a bid accepted you can see quite a few more attractive clubs matching/outdoing our bid within a day.. same for Murodo and co.. Last day of the transfer window I would not be suprised to see 3 or 4 of their lads out of the door as they know they have to sell.

Al Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Although I agree with you, I wouldn't call Fowler a workhorse. More of a donkey perhaps?
bennyboyt11 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Although I agree with you, I wouldn't call Fowler a workhorse. aye in fairness i was thinking more of Andrew's when i wrote that, would think Andrew's would feel the need to prove his doubters wrong that he can compete the top tier of English (perhaps even the world?) football
67splitscreen Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 If we where to raid Velencia, Would love to see Brazilian, Fábio Henrique Simplício in the CM. 28 year old pure class. Maybe we could do a deal with Andrews Edit, got Velencia on the brain, Palermo is correct, him and Cavani
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Not seen anything posted, but ignore me if it's been answered: Is there anything in the Michael Bradley talk? Wasn't impressed with him in the USA games a few months ago but I can't say I've seen much of him.
brfc_jonesy Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 is sunny still at valencia? he is righteous every time ive seen him play, be worth a cheeky one!
