I knew it was Brad who advised O'Neal to bid for Roque:

I'm sure O'Neill didn't need Friedel to tell him that Roque was the third top scorer in the Premiership last year. I'm sure Villa would have been interested in him regardless, they're obviously after that kind of striker.

Villas AVERAGE attendance last season was 40,000. Rovers was? Let's face up to it Cally Villa will be challenging for 4th spot with a near capacity filled ground every week.

Bloody amazing that jellyfish. No wonder you are hopeful of getting 4th spot if the Premier League are going to let you play all 38 matches at home.

btw you had a far better average that us in 94/95 too. :P

btw 2 Of the seasons that we have shared in the prem we have comfortably exceeded your all time points total ..... even with our smaller crowds. :P:P

For all your crowd figures you've not really done much with em in all that time have you?

PINTO - The big Chilean striker is here. Had a row with West Ham which meant that he wallked out. Have to see how he does, but the reports are good. The only snag is - do Rovers need another striker at this time? He can come on loan, so this one has a chance. I would think his presence means there will be no move for Zigic until he [Pinto] is looked at.

MCCARTHY - Think Sunderland is off. That probably means there is no need for Olic. Might not even be a need for Pinto or Zigic. Not sure.

ANDREWS - Just about the strangest move I can recall for some time. MK Dons have accepted the offer but not given the move the go-ahead. The player will NOT play for them this weekend. There is some kind of snag but no-one is saying what. Very odd.

GRELLA - Archie Knox and Carl Robinson watched him play for Australia in midweek, so there is obviously an interest. Don't think a price is agreed.

JOAQUIN - There are no other bidders and Valencia need the cash. You never know.

ROQUE - Nobody has robbed a bank today, so I think he will stay. But there is a long week still to go.

I don't see why we need another striker unless Benni goes, especially if Fowler makes his mind up and agrees to the contract we have offered. With Sunderland signing Healy? and Cisse i'm not sure they need another striker so it looks to me like Benni is staying.

I'm confident Roque is staying, just wish the media would stop trying to unsettle the player.

Have to say depending on cost, Pinto will be a great move, not just for football reasons.

Carlos will have a new room mate, that has to make the going easier for them both.

With Roque baby sitting them.

Edit. forgot about Roque kid brother.

Night life in Blackburn could be getting interesting, that is if your female.:blush:

Have we actually made a bid for Joaquin or are we just showing a intrest ?

Nobody senssible makes a bid unless they know it will be accepted.

That's the kind of thing that separates man from the apes and Rovers from Man City.

Rovers will be trying to push the price down or do a deal that suits them...this could happen.

It's like the Benni story. Sunderland will have made verbal offers, but they probably have not put in a written bid as they have been told 'he's not for sale.'

Wonder how that stance will look by the end of the year.

Nicko,

Do you think Rovers are looking to settle their dealings in the market in the next few days or do you think they're waiting it out 'til the last day when decent prices can be agreed by those desperate to sell?

Also, as the window counts down to closing, any chance we may sneak in annan for a small fee?

Cheers :D

RSC is too good for Villa and City as his next move. When he does leave Rovers it should be for either the top 4 of this league or a top European club now he has proved how good he is.

Hoping for some action soon on the transfer front. Not long left now really.

However, panic buying could set in depending on the result this Saturday.
